Adoregos aka Adoreth Winterscale
Adoregos was born sometime before the War of the Ancients. During the clash with Neltharion, reeling from the destruction of nearly his entire flight, he fled the battle, meeting a group of Highborne refugees in his escape and taking the form of their race to remain hidden. A woman named Shalandrala Winterscale led the group, and Adoregos quickly fell for her, though she initially spurned his advances.
For nearly three thousand years, the group lived among the druids in the Tranquil Glades. Though they took a vow not to meddle with magic, the withdrawal was terrible. When their kin were banished from the land, they discontinued their tampering and Shalandrala was able to convince Malfurion to allow them to stay, with the stipulation that they study with and live among the druids.
Sometime amongst this, Adoregos and Shalandrala fell in love and wed.
One day, he brought her a solution to the Highborne's plight. When the group fled Zin-Azshari, Shalandrala had taken a vial from the Well of Eternity. The blue dragon took it deep beneath the earth and created a font of power which the druids could not detect. Using a simple stone marker above, they were able to move freely between the two areas, eventually building the halls of Cartouche.
Cartouche became a library, academy, and lounge, offering respite to the ailing Highborne. While the druids seemed convinced that returning to nature was aiding them, it was the splendor of Cartouche which kept them sane. All schools of magic were studied. Experiments were performed and tomes upon tomes of knowledge were gathered among countless artifacts.
Shortly after the creation of Cartouche, the couple produced a son using an arcane ritual. Mythsaerin came out as an elf, with no allusions to his father's true nature. Not long after, Adoregos felt an instinctual compulsion to travel to Northrend to aid his brethren when the Nexus was invaded. He was unable to reveal himself, as he could not bear to fight against their Highborne enemies. It was during this time that he learned of Malygos' madness and secluded himself to search for a way to aid his aspect.
Some millenia later, word of Dalaran reached the encampment and the Highborne began making trips to the Eastern Kingdoms. This would continue until the corruption of the Tranquil Glades. Adoregos, having lived away from Kalimdor for sometime, was enamored with the humans and their magical city, and began to spend much of his time there, even taking a human form to live among them.
While he never returned to the Tranquil Glades, he did maintain contact with Shalandrala, with the two meeting up every few decades or so. Adoregos primarily remained in Dalaran and the Eastern Kingdoms, occasionally visiting Kalimdor and Northrend, though staying out of mortal conflicts.
Just before the Second War, Shalandrala came to him with news that the font of power was beginning to fade with all they had been drawing upon it. Since humans had more of an innate ability with the arcane, without the risk of extreme withdrawal, they conceived another child, Tarvasha, who was born half-elf and half-human due to Adoregos' visage.
While he hadn't met his daughter, he did send gifts to her.
At the start of the Third War, the Legion invaded the Tranquil Glades, drawn by the power of the font within Cartouche. By the time word had reached him, he was too late to save the elves, losing his wife and presumably, his daughter, during the attack. He saved what remained of Shalandrala's soul in a soul gem and went into a deep isolation, believing Cartouche, and his family, were gone.
In reality, both of his children survived. Mythsaerin sealed off Cartouche from the Legion's corruption, and Tarvasha fled southeast into the orcish camps.
The years passed in a slumberlike state before the call of the Dragon Isles beckoned him home. Not only did he reunite with his flight, but his children as well. Since then, he has taken every opportunity to engage with Tarvasha while also occasionally visiting the more sequestered Mythsaerin. Tarvasha gave him two grandchildren, and one of them, two great-grandchildren.
