tell me
home sweet home
every time iâm home,
i feel like im 17 again.
it feels like a plastic bag,
being held over my head.
itâs hard to breathe,
and i canât see the way ahead.
gratitude
whenever my mother would say i wasnât grateful for the things she did, it would pierce my heart
i didnât understand how she could say these things, because i knew i was grateful
it wasnât until recently that i realized she was right, i wasnât grateful
i wasnât grateful, because i felt guilty â guilty that she had do the things she did
and it wasnât because i didnât appreciate her efforts
itâs because i was a little girl who was taught to say âpleaseâ and âthank youâ, but never how to show gratitude
so i let to the guilt pile up, because thatâs all i knew.
I knew logically that he was just gonna disappear from my life without saying anything about this, but for some reason it still caught me emotionally off guard when he didnât follow me or try to say anything
Your secrets are safe here (via thesecretletter)
Iâm fighting myself. I know I am. One minute I want to remember. The next minute I want to live in the land of forgetting. One minute I want to feel. The next minute I never want to feel ever again.
Benjamin Alire Såenz, Last Night I Sang to the Monster (via wordsnquotes)
do you ever sit with a group of people and not say anything for  the entire time so theres no reason for you to be there youre just awkwardly listening to people converse while doing your own thing and wondering how its so easy for them to just talk or why its so hard for you to say anything
Males who donât know how to cook or clean piss me off. Their parents piss me off. Their whole ancestry line pisses me off.
this makes my heart ache
Silverstein always has been, and always will be my favorite poet because he doesnât even need words in his poem to make people open their eyes.
HIDDEN MESSAGE IN HEATHENS:
Think about it (!!!?!!!?): In the music video, Tyler performed on stage (so he thought) with Josh. But notice, Tyler became a different person when he stepped on stage. His old orange prison cloths literally RIPPED off his body as he took his first step onto the stage. He became a new person, he had a new image. He could see that the bass was left for him. So he stepped up and he started to play. He started to express himself. You could see he felt free and totally comfortable. He felt alive. But then he started to attract the REST of the prisoners. He starts to attract all the âheathensâ, all the criminal minds, all the imperfect ones, all the judged ones, all the broken ones. He was shocked and shy at first, but then he realised these âheathensâ weâre cheering him on. They were encouraging him, they were supporting him. So he eased up and closed his eyes and focused. Eventually (when the beat dropped lol) he let himself go again, now knowing that these âheathensâ, whoever they were, were HIS people. And then at the end of he video, it all seemed to be a big illusion, a dream. You see him sitting in the middle of an open prison room with guards pointing their guns directly at him, to make sure he doesnât escape or move in any direction. When he stepped out of his dreamy state of mind (him singing on stage), he realised he was trapped. He was taken back to the reality of the situation. He was a beaten down, judged, broken, not listened to prisoner again.
He feels free and alive on stage. He feels like he can be his true self on stage and express all he has inside his mind and heart. But when thatâs all over, heâs back to being a prisoner, heâs back to being helpless.
But weâre his âheathensâ. Weâre the ones cheering him on.
We are his people.
Please donât make any sudden moves
