Self improvement #7: Poker and Life
Poker and life are similar in the way that itâs always an adventure of skill versus luck.
Sometimes you mess up your alarm clock and you miss a class, or work. Sometimes you get fired, or lose a loved one, or you lose your wallet, or you have an accident. Sometimes you might get scared and do something you didnât mean to, or maybe you get cold feet and donât do anything at all. Sometimes you get unlucky.
But everyone goes through those things. Everyone has an equal chance almost of crashing their car, or losing their wallet or their job. If you keep working on yourself though, and you continue to humble yourself no matter if you just bought a new car, or if you just lost everything, and you continue to be honest with yourself and be patient, and be understanding and strive to be better everyday and you eat breakfast, and you get your sleep, and you go to the gym and you work on your art and you work hard and you look for happiness, love and success all day long and donât sit around get angry about how you can be so unlucky and how everything is everyoneâs fault but yours, life can be good. Skill and character in the game of life, just like in poker, win in the long run.
Wake up everyday and fight.
