Hollow Knight and Silksong spoilers abound; any part of either game may be spoiled here!

This is a Pharloomblr/Hollowblr RP blog dedicated to a Snail Shaman OC! I will explain his lore, then the rules.

His name is Uunvraxis, and his lore relies on a few headcanons/theories I'll list below (feel free to message me about these theories if you want to know why I believe them):

The Snail Shamans are descendants of the Abyss civilization (thus, the one in the Ancestral Mound is outright lying when he says that his kind has never been to the Abyss, or perhaps he doesn't fully know his kind's origins)

They absorb soul ambiently to cast their spells

They are still partially made of Void (Not nearly as much as a Vessel or a full Void entity, however)

Hallownest began persecuting or otherwise "shunning" the power of the Shamans sometime before the Pale King discovered the Abyss and sealed it off.

Uunvraxis is aware of his people's abyssal origins. When he was hunted by Hallownest, he fled as far down as he could find, and as such, it's truly no wonder that he found the Abyss. He has remained in the Abyss all that time, and being exposed to Void has caused it to infuse within him... But it hasn't corrupted him. Not at all.

Instead, Uunvraxis has developed a somewhat minor connection with the Void. He uses it to cast his spells, which are now all Void-based, and he's able to exert limited control over non-sentient Void (mostly just Void tendrils and the like), allowing him to prevent them from harming others. He can also sometimes sense massive disturbances involving Void and the Abyss (Such as the events of Act 3 of Silksong).

Uunvraxis uses he/him pronouns. He's a cynical and paranoid person, having to become tough in order to survive, but... He seems strangely hell-bent on doing the right thing. There's far more to him than meets the eye.

More of his personality will be revealed as time goes on, and thus this will be updated!

RULES

Suggestive asks are allowed, especially as the user of this blog is now 18! Explicit sexual content is strictly prohibited, however. Don't put porn in my inbox, please, but I am willing to say, answer asks about Uunvraxis's taste in a partner; or you can try to flirt with him!

Magic anons are totally welcome! Curses, forced scenarios, those sound fun so long as they're not taken to too big an extreme or a permanent thing.

Roleplaying, be it roleplaying as one of the canon characters or as an OC, is perfectly welcome and deeply encouraged! And I'll try to always remember lore and whatnot, though I may have to make actual notes to do that (no offense, my memory is simply bad).

Uunvraxis was surprised. Most creatures had at least heard stories (often exaggerated) of his kind. Then again, most creatures also weren't... whatever this thing was.

"Er, yes, I suppose I can," The Snail Shaman stated, before backing away and aiming away from Brother Long Legs.

He fired a Nightfall Spear, the sharp point made of Void firing off into the distance, glowing from within with trace amounts of Soul.

Uunvraxis felt the roar within his own body, due to his connection to the Void.

He'd seen the flashing lights of the Lost King's battle with... Lurien, maybe? He couldn't quite tell. He had been trying to get all of his stuff from his home and evacuate.

But this roar... Uunvraxis had to investigate.

It was a while of searching, but he eventually found the source.

There was Little Ghost, back turned, staring at some ruins of the Palace Grounds in the Ancient Basin, of all places. But they looked different. Much different.

The entirety of their body was shrouded in black, the strands of the cloak now five long tendrils adorned on each of their sides that replaced the arms, two thinner strands similar to the tail on the ends along with one white lump on the top. Speaking of such lumps, the scales on the mentioned tail were pure white too. The roots on the back of the head were absent, instead now as spikes on the horns that had the little bumps be more spread out, larger, sharper, and curved like a sprout.

The tendrils flowed in the air, back hunched, growling, and body twitching in whatever emotion the Vessel was feeling at this point. Safe to say that they were not taking the whole event of the Pale King becoming Lost very well.

Uunvraxis stood there, feeling... Dumb. Why was he standing here? What did he think he was going to do?

Ultimately, he just said, "I wish I could do more. I tried to do more. But I couldn't. So now, I'm just... fleeing, I guess."

Instead of a verbal response, the second the speech ended, Ghost's head snapped back so quick that it was a miracle that it didn't just break on the spot. The eyes were now white, burning with guilt and perhaps anger, though it's unclear if they even registered what he said.

Regardless, they turn fully around, staring at the shaman dead in his own eyes.

A black, Wyrm shaped mouth creeps out from under the chin.

HE'S DEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAD!!!

The monster practically screeches with blinded, self loathing rage, two tendril tongues popping out of the now widening mouth, the underside of each one dotted with long spikes and a two white dot pattern on the sides of their hook shaped ends.

Not only that, but the longer tentacles thrashed wildly and violently, threatening to break anything and everything in sight.

Uunvraxis was heavily confused. WHO was dead? He... did not recall seeign a casualty.

"Who died?" He asked.

Uunvraxis gets a free slap to the shell strong enough to knock him onto the ground. After that, Ghost starts slowly walking up to him, babbling incoherently about their father being "Lost", hearing his screams, being nothing but a rotting husk.

Some of the tendrils tense and scrunch, like there was some control to be had to try to stop this behavior, but other than that, the monster was too far deep into their depression to realize what they were doing.

"Abuse me," He said, "And I will leave."

They completely freeze. All the tendrils drop, and the tongues slink back into the mouth, mouth slinking back into the head. That got them to stop, at least.

One by one, each of the appendages curl around them in some sort of strange cocoon of regret, leaving only the legs and tail visible. Then they start speaking something else, and although it was muffled, the phrase "I'm sorry" was being said over and over and over.

The thing that was once Ghost started a feeble attempt at walking past him, despite still wrapped in their own darkness, still uttering apologies that could barely be heard.

The less that they stuck around and lose whatever sanity they had left, the better.

Uunvraxis listened to the mumbled apologies as Ghost walked away. Uunvraxis let them walk away. He didn't... He didn't know what to do. He thought, perhaps, that letting them have time to themself would be best, and that they both can meet up and talk about this again another time...

The Shaman stared at the buzzsaw, wondering what was happening, because this... this didn't make any sense.

Also, what was this?

Uunvraxis had never seen a buzzsaw before.

*the city is quiet, tense, as if it waits for something terrible to crawl across its cobbles and claw at the very stone of its foundations but, what has found its way into the heart of Hallownest is something few could ever prepare for

the Lost King meanders through the now rainless streets, a shadow of what it had been in more ways that one, long tendrils dragging behind it, a river of black left in its wake. it is searching. for a way deeper. a way to go down. a way to rejoin what had bore it into this world. a way to seek that writhing darkness behind the world

it floods across the stone like the waves of the sea, dripping into cracks and crannies before the ground gives way under its seeking touch. the Lost King drops into a free fall; liquid-like body slapping against every jutting ledge and sharp spike on its descent before it finally crashes into the already broken ground with a rumbling garbled screech

the old path down into the basin with the broken lift, chains rattling above and that call louder than ever from below. closer now, close, so close... surely nothing will stand in it's way now... right?*

Wrong, for there is one more individual to stand in the King's way. One who would be far more equipped to handle the King.

Uunvraxis had decided to walk back to the Abyss, for a simple reason. He needed the exercise. He didn't want his legs to atrophy from lack of use (if they even could at this point), so he decided to use them.

"By the Void, what happened to you?" Uunvraxis asked in horror, not expecting a reply.

By his estimate, the King had been about to die from the Void flowing inside of Him. It was quite clear, to Uunvraxis, that his prediction had been catastrophically incorrect, and that, instead, something far more horrifying had occurred.

Uunvraxis reached out mentally with his sensing of the Void, focusing on the King, trying to identify precisely what had happened.

*a touch. a reach. a shifting focus felt. injured as it is, broken and battered, limbs all at awkward wrong angles, head lolling to the side wearing an empty stare, the Lost King shifts under the probe but other wise shows no indication that it heard Uunvraxis even speak. the tendrils whips and writhe while the main body lays upon the ground like a dark puddle, the terrible wounds—tears in its void-black form—simply dribble. it looks painful, sounds painful as it attempts to crawl forth, still seeking, still wanting, still...

it truly isn't certain if the Pale King yet resides within there or if this is just a husk—one of a Higher Being yes but still only a husk—being puppeted around by forces beyond its control. whatever it is, right now it does not seem to be showing aggression*

Reaching out with his Void control, he began using the Void to knit together the Lost King's injuries, seal wounds, staunch bleeding, whatever it took to make the King whole. Or, well, as whole as he could be in his current state...

regardless; the cracks become fine fractures and those fractures then become nothing. the rivers of gore dry up into streams then into drought. despite the cavernous hollow of its abdomen, the Lost King looks almost complete, almost put together and new once more, however, the mending of its body only fuels its struggle once more

it twists and hisses, surging forth in an attempt to pass deeper into the bowels of the earth; its destination by now is clear. for whatever reason the Lost King is seeking to enter the Abyss itself*

Uunvraxis watched as the Lost King tried to pass by him and go deeper to the Abyss, but Uunvraxis decided not to let that happen.

"Stop, please," The Shaman requested as he interposed himself between the King and the entrance to the Ancient Basin.

He didn't know what would happen if the King managed to get to the Abyss, but he didn't want to find out. Partially because, well, he lived in the Abyss. He would like for his home not to get messed up.

"Whitewyrm," Uunvraxis said. He was pulling out names now. Names, titles, they held some form of power, though much less than one might think. "You aren't yourself. But I can help you, if you'd let me try?"

He wasn't expecting a response. He wasn't sure what he was doing, honestly. He had never been a fan of the King. The King had never been an ally to the Snail Shamans. Some days, Uunvraxis wondered if it had amused the Wyrm, to sit back and watch while his people performed their witchhunts...

But the Shaman didn't think so. And whatever personal grievances he had with the Pale King, he was aware that whatever would come of this... Surely, it wouldn't be good. And while Uunvraxis didn't consider himself a hero, he had gotten involved in enough heroics that it was starting to become concerningly close to a habit to play the good guy. So, he would try to prevent whatever was about to happen.

the name echoes. a scream. a shout. Whitewyrm. it vibrates in the air, crawls under its blackened shell, curls into a ball and lives within its rotten corpse. it sounds tinny, metallic, like ownership, like a slap to the face, and despite the clear lack of thought the Lost King is putting into it's actions... it recoils

it recoils as if burnt

void tendrils curling, eyes a fraction wider than they were; it rears backwards for just a moment, just one short moment, but it is enough. it is enough to see that perhaps there is something yet left within these remains, that there is still a sliver, no matter how small, of light in that darkness

but an instant later, it is swallowed once more, like the jaws of a cold lake snapping shut over that glimmer of warmth and this time, when the Lost King moves forwards in an attempt to reach whatever goal calls it down, it does so with a shriek that rattles the caverns and cuts through the air sharply. the void tendrils act on their own, grasping all they can reach to hurl, to break into sharp shrapnel, to use as a distraction, a gateway

as something to fight away the lingering burn of its name

as something to use so it can cease this agony

the Lost King is docile no more, teeth bared, a Wyrm backed into a corner and ready to bite*

... His only idea was to start with the brain and work his way elsewhere, but he wasn't even certain of that.

The brain... very delicate. Very important. Was his Void control precise enough to extract Void from it without doing (further?) damage?

He wasn't even sure he was strong enough to help un-corrupt the King, at all.

Again... Maybe, if he had had a century of practice, getting better, stronger, maybe even proper training, he could do it. He was honestly certain that, some time in the future, if he didn't die first, he would have the power necessary to do it. The control, the precision. But right now, today, when he actually needed it, he didn't have it.

"... When you are lucid," He said. "Find me. I'll do the best I can. But until then? ... I'm sorry I can't do more."

He waved goodbye, not that it mattered, and he teleported to the Abyss.

He had to act fast if he was gonna get all his stuff and leave before the King got here.

Delphinium, that root, that stupid moth... all of them have lost and he? oh how he has won! how he has claimed victory! how he has—*

*the Steelwyrm steps forth, looking down from the grand stage at the gathering of pathetic little morsels headed by the moth who, by all accounts, should be rotting on the ground somewhere. persistent little mite, isn't he? and his friends too. a rough shove has the Whitewyrm positioned behind him, out of sight out of mind, but that damned dream drenched mortal simply stares him down, practically vibrating with rage so hot it could melt the very metal his city is built from. well, this'll be a bit of entertainment for the crowd...*

Remembering that he could teleport helped significantly.

This, combined with the healing he received from the little silk-user (who was weirdly rude about it?) helped keep him alive.

And so, Uunvraxis retaliated with a powerful attack, another use of his Nightfall Spear spell (he only had the two combat spells. He really did need to learn more if he was going to continue these heroics!).
