"E-Excuse me, I think you dropped something..."
A quiet, hesitant voice caught his attention, and Joshua paused in his tracks. He turned back to see a girl in red holding out a party popper that had, no doubt, slipped from his pockets. He remembered seeing the girl arriving at the house, but if his memory was serving him correctly, he had not properly met her yet. “Hey, thanks.” He said with a smile, taking the object from her extended hand. “You’re new here, right? What’s your name? I’m Norman,” For some reason a false name always rolled off his tongue much easier than his real one.
Chelsy inwardly let out a small sigh of relief after seeing the boy thank her with a smile. Luckily, he seemed to be pretty friendly. It would have been really unfortunate if she somehow caught the boy in a bad mood or if he turned out to be harsh towards strangers. Especially since this was the first kid that she was meeting as the new child in the orphanage.
'Norman…?'
She ran the name over again in her mind, in an attempt to memorize it. Had Chelsy already gone to her new room and noticed his name plaque, she would have realized that the she was given was false. But the brunette was just on her way to her room, only a moment before she noticed ‘Norman’s’ dropped party popper on the ground. So there was no reason to suspect that ‘Norman’ was lying. What reason was there to think that someone would lie about their own name anyway? “…I’m C-Chelsy..,” the girl responded, her shyness getting the better of her. “…I-It’s nice to meet you, Norman…”
The girl was so quiet, so shy, but Joshua didn’t mind. He was one of those people that seemed to take a liking to everyone, even people that did not take much of a liking to him. It was just in his nature, he sought attention and approval, and thus he sought to become friends with anyone.
"Chelsy, huh? Nice to meet ya, too." He agreed, a large grin coming to his face. Then he noticed the direction she had been traveling in, and with a little shrug to himself decided to say, "Are you heading to your room? If ya want, after you get settled in, I could give ya a tour?" After all he really had nothing better to do…well, it was true he had been planning to sneak up behind Teacher and set off the party popper, but he supposed that could wait until another time.
Brown eyes stared at the silver-haired boy in surprise, before turning their attention to the floor. “U-Umm…” He was offering her a tour around the building..? Chelsy was honestly at a loss of how to respond. For a second, a second, she thought of replying with a, “No thank you” or “You really don’t have to.” Surely Norman had better things to do. And she didn’t want to be a bother by having to follow him around without knowing where she was going. But even so, he was kind enough to offer the tour. She’d feel kind of bad about turning it down. Plus, it was a chance of getting to know a potential friend, even if it was a little bit…
“O-ok…Thanks…”
