I just can’t believe it. I am a certified Starbucks Coffee Master finally!! I am over the moon when they (My District Manager,Store Managers announced to me that I passed)
I was about to cry but then I remembered that I have my eyeliner on so, I cry in my heart.
It has been a long journey to be honest, it is not an overnight thing to be certified as Coffee Master.
I started my journey in July 27th, 2017. I was excited that I was given the book but at the same time I was a bit lost on what to do with this book. It has so many information on history of the coffee,how & where the coffee is grown, how Starbucks purchase the coffee all over the region, so on and so forth.
I was really flabbergasted because TOO many to read with limited time. I was working day and night,mainly I sleep whenever I have my offdays,and I have mommy duty. But it wont stop me from reading and doing journal notes for myself since I can’t read all the contents.
The day I failed big time
I forever will remember this moment. I FAILED SO HARD I CRIED IN FRONT OF MY PANELS. How stupid I was without any preparation and half asleep, my DM just stopped me halfway and told me to reschedule my session.
It was a great slap in the face,but then to think of it, I still have time to fix the wrong parts, prepare myself and read more.
Today was the best day ever 11/01/2018
I was given another month to prepare. Despite my workloads and other responsibilities, I was able to prepare myself, with the help of my boyfriend,my store manager,fellow partners that continuously inspired me to do my best.

My boyfriend burned the midnight oil just to make my presentation looks as awesome to impress the panel. I am excited and grateful that he helped me throughout this journey. Giving me encouragement that I have to finish what I started and lecturing me ahahahahha. Thanks sayang.

I was the last candidate so I was waiting nearly 5 hours for my turn. It gave me time to practice and also last minute revision. Then some genius took my table away because he wants the table despite being told that I am currently waiting for my turn for my certification. He scoffed at me as is what I was going through was nothing. Oh well, the nerve of some people kan? Nevertheless, even though rasa marah sekejap, I was able to calm myself down.
The best part is of course la the food. For the Ethiopia Coffee, I paired it with Pavlova topped with kiwi fruit & grape. I garnish it with chocolate orange sauce with a lil bit of lemon juice. Secondary food was Cadbury Layered Cake.
For Sumatra Coffee, I use Cream Puff with Cinnamon Chocolate with Caramel Drizzle and the secondary food is Pineapple Tart with Kek Hati Parek.
Both Pavlova with cream puff was sponsored by my very good friend Aceng, SHE MAKES HEAVENLY TREATS you guyssss!!!! And both food was surprisingly compliments the coffee! To be honest, I didn’t any test run on both, I just read and do my own research and as usual, I WING IT!
After the coffee tasting, I sit down for Q & A session. I was super nervous that I almost forgot what I have read. Everything was at the tip of the tongue but I can’t say it out.
But thankfully, I can answer all (although I babbled A LOT) but yeah, I made it! HAHAHAHA..
Then, I was asked to go somewhere else while the panel discuss about my performance……
5 minutes passed, My DM gave me 2 questions which tested my thinking skill. Thank goodness my answers satisfied him and yes, I AM A CERTIFIED COFFEE MASTER!
I was beyond words, not crying but it was surreal feeling like my effort finally paid of. I just can’t believe it. But like they say, “with great power comes a great responsibilities.”
I knew this is just a stepping stone for me to greater things. I AM SUPER READY! HAHAHA HELP.

There you go, my journey in becoming Starbuck Coffee Master. This shows that no matter how hard your journey is, all you gotta do is to keep going and learn along the way. Things won’t come easy, if it is easy, we won’t be enjoying and appreciate it.
