I’ve been mulling over Pharah and Symmetra’s interaction for a couple of days now. My reaction at first, obviously, was very negative, and I’m still not pleased about it. But the more i examine it the more I’m concluding that, as far as negative interactions go, it’s really not that bad…it could have been a lot worse. And maybe i’m being too optimistic, but it almost seems like they’re trying to set the scene for Vishkar and Helix being involved with each other at some point. The fact that Pharah sounds exasperated about it makes it sound like Helix has already been trying to get themselves partnered with Vishkar. 

This combined with the fact that Pharah has been teased at getting more lore (with the changes to the Anubis map getting Helix logos put up everywhere), Blizzard randomly establishing some more information about Vishkar wrt Lucio and his father’s involvement, and the fact that Pharah and Symmetra’s comics, where they both pretty much learned the exact same moral (that “success at all costs” is not more important than protecting people) are still hanging there with half-finished plots, Symmetra’s especially, I’m really holding out hope that the next arc we get is going to explore the two companies and Pharah and Symmetra’s continuing involvement with (and maybe eventual defection from) them.

And i mean, maybe eventually they’ll fall in love and get married and adopt a bunch of kids for Ana to spoil. who knows.
