I had immediate imposter syndrome tryna think of any 'career highlights' in music. Cause even though I've been writing about music consistently for national blogs and magazines for five years I've still got that little voice that goes 'you ain't shit'. So here's to conquering that voice! 

Highlights include: talking about Brisbane music, getting more people to hear about great Brisbane bands, meeting the maddest people doing the maddest shit in Brisbane music. 

Also; sometimes writing about and talking to good bands from other states I guess.

I've always been guilty of saying YES to everything that I want to do in life without thinking about the HOW and TIME factor. I'm constantly working and I often think to myself, "I wish I had time to relax." But at the end of each 4ZZZ show or Bear Hunt gig, there's this feeling of exhilaration that I haven't been able to find by doing ANYTHING else in life. I wouldn't trade that for the world!!

Sometimes when you’re on the radio it can be easy to forget that people (not including mum and dad) are actually out there and listening to you. But one day when I was at work, having about a great a day as you’d expect a checkout chick could possibly have, a customer suddenly said to me, “you have a show on 4ZZZ don’t you?!” It was the first time I’d ever been recognised by my voice and I was so shocked, I didn’t even realise that was possible. It turned out I had given this guy’s band their first ever radio play and he thanked me for my support before taking off with his bread and milk. He probably thought nothing of it, but the small moment has always stayed with me.

My favourite moment of my career so far was the moment it started. I was down and out and had no idea what I was doing with myself, when I decided to go with my gut and take a chance and follow my dream. I gambled and took an opportunity, and haven't looked back since. The days when I am exhausted waking up at 5am balancing three jobs plus a bunch of other projects and I feel like I want to throw in the towel, I take a look at what I've achieved so far and that's what pushes me to get through the day. Now I run a kickass website (Howl & Echoes), work with a brilliant record label (Bedlam Records), put on a quarterly showcase of Brisbane women in music (Brisbabes) as well as working a shitty day job to pay my rent. I'm constantly busy and constantly tired but I somehow make it work every damn day, and wouldn't change anything for the world. So the moment I started is, and always will be my favourite moment.
