today is the election of my country philippines and im so scared because the leading president candidate is a misogynist who raped women and makes rape jokes i can go on but it will take a lot of time i hope this gets better im feeling an intense physical heartache because of this, i just want this to be over but i still have to wait for six years!! the leading vice president candidate is this one guy whose father declared martial law and killed a lot of people without justice :( you can google em up and im just scared and sad for my future because im a minor and cant vote yet help my country guys help me :((

that same leading presidential candidate, rodrigo duterte, has admitted to killing - in his words - “about three people.” even if he was joking, which he probably isn’t, that’s a sick sense of humour to have, especially for someone who’s going to lead a nation.

this man:

has joked about missing out on the opportunity to participate in the rape of an innocent girl, and never apologized for it

vows to break diplomatic ties with some of our main international allies (because their ambassadors called him out on his bullshit rape jokes)

has told people to “forget the laws on human rights” to give way to the future unjust killings he plans to do

promises that there will be mass killings if he is elected as president

wants to impose a 1am curfew that will hurt such a big industry - the manila nightlife is a huge part of philippine tourism

and this man is leading by millions of votes. why? i honestly have no fucking clue.
