I'm a singlet and friends with two systems, is there any advice you have for supporting them? I do my best but I know I'm very lost and a little bit of direction or "hot tips" would help so much.

Great Question:

The best thing you can do is just be there for them

Treat them like a person

Be respectful of their boundaries and triggers

Give them reminders if you can such as to eat or complete a task they had planned

Of course there are a lot more things you can do but these are the most important in our opinion

How has being a system affect your life?

It's been hard to say the least.

The symptoms alone are disabling.

We have poor communication in the headspace so often times things are forgotten unless someone is responsible and steps up.

Aside from the part of having alters,

being in a constant state of dissociation is scary.

The body doesn't feel real.

We can't follow more than one direction the majority of the time.

Other than that we function as post people do.

Just stopping in to say we are all good! A lot has been happening and we've had to step down from tumblr. We aren't planning on posting regularly.

We've made a few realizations that tumblr is terrible for us in terms of recovery and healing. The amount of discourse that goes on is not okay.

We will no longer be active on this account.

Maddie's role in the system is essentially functioning in daily life.

She has limited awareness of our trauma so it doesn't affect her.

She functions the same way a singlet would.

We have made the decision to step back from this account and the system community in general.

From endogenic systems to the overall toxicity involved in the community we no longer feel capable of being a part of it.

We have a few asks in our inboxes that we haven't answered and apologize sincerely for it ♡

This doesn't come with ease as we have met so many sweet people and still have friendships with a few.

However, at this time there is only one system we feel okay with continuing being friends with they know who they are and we have spoken privately to them about this.
