A reminder that body positivity goes beyond skinny and fat bodies. Body positivity also includes disabled bodies, POC bodies, bodies with stretch marks, bodies with vitiligo, bodies with scars, bodies with areas of missing skin, deformed bodies, bodies with acne, etc. Continue advocating for body positivity but please include ALL bodies and not just the simple skinny vs fat.

Generally speaking, I find it a lot more offensive when like TV shows and movies have a shitty representation of dissociative disorders, but there's like two versions of that. There's stuff where a character has like ""alters"" or something that could in theory be comparable to an actual disorder, but in the story is explained as some fantasy concept. There's also when there is a really shitty depiction of DID and they mix the poor depiction with fantasy (sometimes) AND they fucking call it DID or an outdated term like MPD.

Anyways which do you find more offensive?

Things that in hindsight we're probably because we have d.i.d. :we got in trouble in elementary school for cheating on a paper because the handwriting changed so much from the first half of the paper to the second that the teacher thought we had someone else write it for us.

about the d.i.d ask, i (a person with the disorder) support hcs like that, i actually find them very interesting, but i’d appreciate if y’all did a bit of research before discussing it because it tends to be inaccurate and slightly insulting. /not upset, just my opinion :)

Oh, of course! I apologize for not doing any research beforehand (I was sitting in the parking lot of a church this morning and answering that ask on my phone OTL). I did receive a follow-up ask about it that I wanted to reply to, but I will go ahead and look into the disorder first before I answer it!

Thank you for messaging me to let me know <3 Again, the only knowledge I have for DID is based on the few tiktokers I follow who have it, as well as what it's been perceived as in media. I do know, from what I have seen, that Tobias Hankel and Adam Jackson (the unsub whose personality, Amanda, was the one killing people) are NOT good representations of people with DID.

A tiktoker I follow, @/theasystem, is very sweet and doesn't mind answering people's questions about their system/DID. I love watching their videos and seeing all the different personalities and how they protect the main system.

I am glad that I didn't upset you, and I hope I didn't upset anyone else who has DID or knows anyone with DID. Thank you again for reaching out <3 I love you guys and I always want to do my best to make sure I don't offend anyone or share misinformation.

Anyone else really disgusted by Trisha Paytas? Her behavior is really repulsive and she seems as if she apparently just can't stop herself from spreading misinformation and causing stigma over and over again. I'm not someone who will say "this persons faking", not only is it not my business but I don't feel that it's my place to, not to mention I hate how the community witch hunts and is constantly looking for ""fake systems"" and I refuse to have any part in those toxic habits, so while I will never say someone is a ""fake"", she still clearly has shown over and over again how ignorant and uneducated she is. She's claiming to be and have things that she doesn't even know about. I don't like her or the things she's done, but I am concerned for her and I do hope that she gets help and understands that she can't be spreading misinformation like she has. She needs to be held accountable for her actions, not just by the DID community, but by her fans, and everyone else too. She's taken really vulnerable communities and used her platform to spread stigma and misinformation, and it's just not okay. I hope she stops her toxic ways and becomes educated on topics like these. I'm not going to hold my breath about it though, as she's shown she will try to justify her wrongdoings anyway she can come up with. She most likely will continue the toxicity and continue to spread stigma. The behavior is disgusting and I ""can't wait"" to see all of her dedicated followers rally behind her to show their support in spreading stigma and to attack systems online. I know she's lost fans because of this(which I'm glad spreading misinformation about DID isn't acceptable to some of them) but there will always be the people who blindly support and defend the actions of the people in the wrong and I'm really not looking forward to the ignorant people that do so, attacking the vulnerable people in this community.

Sometimes I feel like my disorder is fake or my trauma wasn't real. When that happens I need to take a step back and think about things differently for a bit and take a deep breath. Sometimes scary things are difficult to get through and sometimes healing can be scary. We're all still learning and progressing through life together so be nice to yourselves today. We love you ♡
