My Dying Bride’s “And My Father Left Forever” is the first track off their upcoming 12th studio album “Feel the Misery”. It marks the return of the band’s original guitarist Calvin Robertshaw. Calvin’s return is immediately noticed on the track’s opening riffs that harken back to the more up-tempo guitar work from “Like Gods of the Sun”.
This new track, clocking in at 9 minutes, briskly gallops through what is basically an amalgamation of My Dying Bride’s best motifs and song writing themes. It’s brilliant! It instantly grabs you, eagerly pulls you close, and lets its story of loss and revenge intimately drape over you.
The rest of “Feel The Misery” to hit this September.
