The scene where Shikamaru gives Mirai Asuma’s old chakra blades is so beautiful. It’s a bit like how Asuma gave InoShikaCho their family earrings when they passed their test.

Mirai’s complicated feelings about how she feels like her father abandoned her and Kurenai in a way, and Shikamaru doing everything he can to carry some part of Asuma and show it to Mirai, and Mirai trying so hard to look cool and unflappable even while she cries her eyes out.
