Finished a Painterly commission of Val the hexblood for @theartificerforge! Tried to push the painterly aspects of the style this time!
I want to thank @bunbundango for doing another impeccable job, and I love it with all my heart. I did take me a minute to repost this and I am sorry I haven't been showing it off like I should be! I've recently, and by recently I mean for years but only just started to talk to the important people in my life about it, have came out as feeling I was born in the wrong body and wanting to be a woman. Now I am in no way shape or form feminine and with years of hard work to come I know I can be who I want to be, but this is a more fanciful take on it. As a sort of reminder or homage (not sure what one yet) I had this art commissioned. This has kinda made me hesitate on posting for I was unsure on how to proceed in life, but now I am confident in it. So without further ado!
Originally Val used to be a man's man, fought in the fighting pits, drinking and swearing in his free time (sometimes his working time as well). But he always felt off, something wasn't right. Seeing how all the lady's in the stands dressed and how pretty some of them were he always felt jealous and a bit angry that they could look like that and not him. That was until he met a Hag. Deep beneath the sea port of his city she hid, waiting for the foolish to seek her out. She complied with his wish with a warning of what was to come. But Val was willing to take on the world to be who she was supposed to be.
Now that's not to say females can't drink fight or swear, or that men can be pretty or dress like a lady. It's just a short little story using well known tropes to paint an image, my apologies for any offense.
