The basic gist is: what if the reason why Anton and Saracen were already friends before the Dead Men was formed was because Anton raised him from like. Age 10 and onwards? So yeah! Medieval found family let’s go <3
At that point Anton would already be quite old, he’s just wandering around and just not doing too good. Then boom, suddenly he has this recently orphaned child to take care of. It’s good for him too, because he finally has someone to tell him that “I slept for almost 2 days straight last week so I should be fine for another few days or so” is not how sleeping works. Anton does everything he possibly can to be a good influence, yeah he’s a little emotionally distant but otherwise a great parent!
