UPDATE: NBO MEMBER ARRESTED, AS SQUIBS IN AMERICA ARE PUT ON HIGH ALERT.

For the first time in over a decade, MACUSA officials have been able to arrest a wix associated with the terrorist organization, the New Blood Order. Jay Holloway has been charged with crimes associated with the attack that took place within MACUSA’s Pacific Headquarters. Holloway was deemed responsible for the explosion, having crafted the deadly bombs that caused it. According to the press release associated with the arrest, MACUSA determined that erumpent fluid had been used to make a series of bombs that were used to destroy part of the Squib Relations Offices. 

Just why the New Blood Order attacked the offices, has served as a new concern for squibs in America. This is because shortly after the arrest, a representative with the Squib Relations Office came forward with the disturbing news that the bombing was a means to cover up a theft that occurred in the offices. The theft being the records the office has on every registered squib in America. 

What the New Blood Order plans on doing with these records is yet to be discovered, but the news has sent many squibs on high alert, many even choosing to flee the country in fear that a deadly attack will occur. With the New Blood Order’s history of using owl messaging services to send deadly instruments and devices, owl messaging services throughout the country have been suspended, and all squibs everywhere are being asked to be extremely cautious when handling any unknown envelopes or packages. 

The arrest of Holloway, may be the biggest break MACUSA has made yet in dismantling the New Blood Order, but many are now left to wonder- is it too little too late?

BREAKING NEWS: WEEKEND ATTACK ON SQUIB RELATIONS OFFICES 

On Sunday morning, the residents of Merlinus City were wakened by the sound of a large explosion emitted from the building housing the Pacific Branch of MACUSA. After local aurors assessed the scene, they determined that the explosion had originated from the Squib Relations Offices, whose main location resides within the Pacific Branch of MACUSA. Fortunately, no employees were harmed, as only a limited number of staff had been in the building over the weekend. 

The New Blood Order has since claimed responsibility for the attack through several letters sent to wixen newspapers throughout the country. In these messages The New Blood Order says the attack was a direct response to the increasing liberties squibs have been granted in the community, and that more are to come until what they claim, “Order is restored.”

President Roche has since met with the press, and called the attack “a heinous crime on Wixen America”. In response to several questions about their NBO Task Force, that so far has seemed to have done very little to thwart the growing terrorist organization, Roche said this, “This terrorist organization has been building its regime for over twenty years now, it will take time to fully dismantle the New Blood Order, but I assure you we are doing everything we can to take down this group of blood purists. As a show of faith, next week an agent from the task force will be assigned to each major auror squad. This agent will help act as a liaison on any NBO related cases, between the task force and the auror squads. I am certain that with the combined forces of the Aurors and the task force agents from the Bureau of Covert Vigilance, we will finally end the NBO’s reign of terror.” 

With the investigation on the attack still underway, it is likely that we will learn more in the upcoming days regarding these recent events. As always, we will keep you informed on any further updates on this case, and the New Blood Order in general.

OOC: The Pacific Squad Office was undamaged in the explosion, in fact the only floor damaged was the one the Squib Relations Offices was located on. A new case will be posted to the main shortly, which centers on the explosion. A new NPC will also be added, this NPC will be the agent of the NBO Task Force, who will be assisting aurors on any future NBO related cases.

BREAKING NEWS: VICE PRESIDENT JUDITH EAMES MISSING

One week after President Ortega was cleared of any wrongdoing from the events of February 28th. Vice President Judith Eames has now seemingly vanished without a trace. It was just this morning when a team of highly trained aurors descended on the Eames Estate, with the intention of serving a warrant on the property in order to search for additional evidence linking Judith Eames to both the creation and eventual failure of the Scotland Mission.

When aurors arrived at the Estate they found it’d been completely abandoned, and that no trace of Judith Eames, her husband, or any of their belongings remained in the large home. In the wake of this news as well as the damning evidence against Judith Eames, Congress has already began proceedings to remove Judith Eames from office, on the official argument that she has abandoned her position. 

Commissioner Henshawe has since requested that if anyone has any information on the Vice President’s whereabouts to contact MACUSA’s Tipline. As always, we will keep you updated on any additional developments on this story.

BREAKING NEWS: NATASHA WEISS REVEALS DAMNING EYEWITNESS TESTIMONY AGAINST VICE PRESIDENT

Only two days into the Impeachment Trial, Investigator Natasha Weiss has revealed that she has uncovered at least three eyewitnesses that can corroborate the claim that it wasn’t President Ortega that initiated the Scotland Mission, but rather Vice President Judith Eames. After being thoroughly questioned by House Speaker, Francis Harbird, Weiss revealed that from her own investigation she was able to determine that Vice President Eames had orchestrated the events of February 28th during the night of the MACUSA Valentine’s Ball held at her estate. 

Weiss was able to corroborate her claims by showing the memories of Judith Eames’s son, Ben Eames, and one of the Eames’s house-elves through a pensieve to the courtroom. After this breaking testimony was revealed, it is now almost certain that President Ortega won’t be impeached, but just what may happen to Judith Eames remains unclear.

WEEKLY UPDATE: IMPEACHMENT TRIAL NOW UNDERWAY 

After two weeks investigating the events of the mysterious “Scotland Mission” as it’s now been come to be known by, today marks the beginning of the Impeachment Trial of President Horatio Ortega. During this trial a house committee will be interviewing some of the lead investigators on the case, in order to determine just how much involvement President Ortega had in this mission, and whether or not any of the actions Ortega may or may not have committed would be considered impeachable acts. 

Lead Investigator, Natasha Weiss, will be called to the stand today, and is expected to take the stand tomorrow as well. Today’s testimony will focus on the events following the mission, and what occurred in those several hours when the twelve aurors of the Central Squad first touched down in the country. Tomorrow’s proceedings are then expected to focus on the largest question of this trial- which is who first put this mission into action. 

We will update you as we hear of any additional breaking news coming out of MACUSA.

WEEKLY UPDATE: IMPEACHMENT TRIAL DATE SET

Good evening, and welcome to your evening news with me, Elaine Penton. It has now been two weeks since twelve aurors were dispatched to Corban Yaxley’s Manor, and rescued those aurors who had been trapped in the country for approximately six months. In the last two weeks, the Office of Government Oversight has conducted an independent investigation into the events of February 28th and prior, to determine how the mission first came about. 

Just this morning, the Speaker of the House, Francis Harbird, announced President Ortega’s impeachment trial will begin this coming week. The trial will begin with the sworn testimony of the lead investigator on the case regarding the Scotland Mission, Natasha Weiss. Her testimony has been viewed as paramount to the case against President Ortega, and will be considered an indicator for just how the remainder of the trial will follow. 

Criminal charges against President Ortega, and any other involved parties will be determined at the trial’s conclusion. As always, we will keep you updated on any new developments regarding this trial and the matters surrounding it.

BREAKING NEWS: ORTEGA DEFIES CONGRESS, SENDS OVER ADDITIONAL TEAM OF AURORS

Good evening, and welcome to your evening news with me, Elaine Penton. We have just received breaking news into our newsroom that President Horatio Ortega has defied the order Congress had imposed on him six months ago, and has sent over an additional team of aurors to extract the twelve aurors that have been trapped inside Scotland for the last six months. It has been reported that this new team of aurors hails from MACUSA’s Central Squad. 

It is unclear at this time just how this mission came into being. However, evidence shows that earlier this evening the twelve aurors all entered MACUSA’s headquarters, and used a portkey located within a training facility to transport themselves to Scotland. The Office of Government Oversight has since began an investigation on the matter, and have so far uncovered eyewitness testimony that has corroborated that President Ortega’s Chief of Staff was seen coming in and out of the training facility an hour before the aurors arrived. 

The UK Minister of Magic, Pius Thicknesse, has since spoken publicly regarding President Ortega’s actions and has called the mission an “Act of War”. He has also claimed that President Ortega had sent over the twelve new aurors not to rescue any that remain in his country, but to instead assassinate his Head of Magical Law Enforcement, Corban Yaxley. This claims seems to be corroborated in some way, as Corporal Ignatius Yaxley, Corban Yaxley’s long disinherited son, is among the aurors who illegally entered the country.  Thicknesse has since informed President Ortega that any American aurors in the U.K are now prisoners of war, and that the Ministry will have no choice but to retaliate should he make any move to rescue them. 

President Ortega has so far remained uncharacteristically quiet on the situation, however Vice President Judith Eames has recently just released a statement to the press, seemingly trying to distance herself from Ortega’s actions. In her statement she states, “Neither I or my son, Central Squad Chief Ben Eames, had any knowledge of this rescue attempt, and it pains us deeply that President Ortega has gone to such measures in order to enact his will. I cannot in good faith back his actions. I promise I will do everything in my power to negotiate with Minister Thicknesse to release our aurors back to us.” 

Congress is now currently in an emergency meeting to discuss its next steps and how to properly handle the matter. Rumors swirling around MACUSA though seem to suggest that the governing body is planning to introduce Articles of Impeachment against President Horatio Ortega. If this is cleared by congress, an official investigation into the events surrounding the mission will begin, and a trial to Impeach President Horatio Ortega and whether to remove him from office, will be held at the conclusion of the investigation.

WEEKEND UPDATE: American Aurors Lost in Great Britain 

Good evening, and welcome to your evening news with me, Elaine Penton. It has now officially been six months since Operation Thunderbird, President Ortega’s covert operation to save English muggleborns, was halted by the Magical Congress. To this day twelve aurors have remained trapped in the war torn country, with no hope in sight of rescue. 

It has just been released to the press that earlier this week, President Ortega had made his third attempt at a rescue mission by proposing to Congress that a group of agents from the Bureau of Covert Vigilance be employed to safely extract the aurors. Congress has once again declined the President’s request, stating they would not authorize “any acts of war” against our ally, Great Britain. 

It is reported that President Ortega’s latest move to send out a rescue team was brought about after an alleged video of the missing aurors surfaced out of Scotland. The video was captured by a wixen couple from Edinburgh, we will show it now, but we warn you, it may be disturbing to younger individuals. 

* A grainy video, taken in the dark of night then appears on screen. For five minutes a string of rapid wandfire is filmed from a distance, it is unclear at first just what the wixes are targeting until a deep and thunderous wolf’s howl breaks through the chaos, and is soon followed by at least four others. The video then cuts soon after. 

It is a question that this reporter asks, what is an act of war, if not allowing another to continue? As a former Londoner myself, I plead with Congress to please take action. Great Britain needs us now more than ever, and allowing it along with a dozen of our aurors to suffer in the vice hold evil has over it, is without question a war crime in itself. If we are their ally, then let’s be it, before there is nothing left to save.
