For a couple years now, I’ve been thinking about starting a vlog. The only reason I didn’t was because I didn’t think anyone would watch it. (Plus, who likes hearing their own voice on camera? I feel like no one likes that.) Now, I’ve got Jaxson and I’m not sure if that’s what gave me the extra push to finally do it or if I have just decided that I don’t care if anyone watches it or not but this is a huge step for me. Hopefully someone will be even a little bit entertained but even if that isn’t the case I’m proud of myself for putting this out there and giving it a try because isn’t that where you find life can be the most fun? So if you’re interested, here it is. Check it out.

So I’m going to be starting a website and YouTube channel! I’m so beyond excited. I will share the link here as soon as it is up and running.
I love being a mom. I wouldn’t mind having more kids but godddddd I hated being pregnant
Dad goals. (via megsullivan07)
Public service announcement: do not ever touch a black child’s hair.
Tell all your friends. Keep your hands to yourself. This is not a petting zoo and my child is not for touching.
My daughter had a free hair day today. Her dad took her to the store and some random white lady touched her hair. That’s why I hover over her at the store. I’ve almost punched people, I’ve grabbed them by their wrists and they’ll try that shit again.
DON’T TOUCH BLACK PEOPLE’S HAIR. DO NOT TOUCH BLACK CHILDREN. DO NOT TOUCH MIXED RACE CHILDREN. IT ISN’T JUST HAIR IT IS CONTROL OVER THEIR BODIES. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TOUCH THEIR BODIES OR HAIR.
I’m not ready for the day someone tries to touch my child’s hair without permission. I might lose it.

My baby is six months old today and I’m just like no way. That’s not possible.

Before I had Jaxson earthquakes were no big deal. Now I feel like my reaction time is too slow and it’s honestly horrifying. I mean yes it is only 5 am. My response time isn’t ever lightning fast at 5 am but still.

I’m in that phase where I don’t want to hear anymore drama because I have enough going on in my life right now.

i’m sorry
me hanging out with black people in the summer: “aye, yall don’t forget to put on sunscreen”
them:
@flipflibberinflippinghell
Use the Walgreens Brand which is pretty cheap and it does wonders and doesn’t leave me with a white cast. And I’m dark as hell so I hate looking ashy but not all sunscreens are made equally and it’s one of the better ones I’ve used.
Wait cocoa/shea butter and coconut oil don’t protect you from the sun we really do need sunscreen??
Yea fam. All that “we don’t need sunscreen” shit is a myth. Combine that with the fact that most dermatologists don’t know how to spot skin cancer in Black people and it’s a nasty combination.
Yeah, it’s harder for us to get it but when we do it’s deadly. I know two people who died of skin cancer, both were Black.
“While incidence of melanoma is higher in the Caucasian population, a July 2016 study in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology showed it is more deadly in people of color. African American patients were most likely to be diagnosed with melanoma in its later stages than any other group in the study, and they also had the worst prognosis and the lowest overall survival rate.”

Sorry about the link, I’m on mobile. But this is from August 2016, which I know isn’t the most recent but it’s still SUPER IMPORTANT. Y’all please wear sunscreen. With Google it’s even easy to find smaller, Black-owned brands.
https://blackgirlsunscreen.com/ is Black-owned!
MAKE SURE YOU TELL TEACHERS AND CHILDCARE PROVIDERS TO PUT SUNSCREEN ON YOUR BABY.
Because they will skip your Black child.
^^^^ Super important

Here’s a decent reference on oil spfs! Red raspberry seed oil with carrot oil and coconut oil would be a nice blend.
I’ve never burned but I’m honestly scared of skin cancer. I’ve known a couple people who had it and not a single one said they wouldn’t go back and wear sunscreen if they could. I mean why not take the extra precautions just in case.

Anyone else do a vlog?
I’m trying to compile a list of things I’ll need if I do it from my phone.
