Langley, WA, located on idyllic Whidbey Island, is a fun day trip destination. Easily accessible from Seattle (by ferry and by driving), Bellingham, and Vancouver, BC this lesser known destination needs to be on your radar. Langley boasts a scenic beach with views of Camano Island, a small island that is also part of the San Juan chain. There are several restaurants, shops, wine tasting, and a grocery store. I recommend the pizza at Village Pizzeria. Their prices were reasonable, service was great, and they have indoor and outdoor dining with a view. I also recommend stopping by the Whidbey Island Gem Gallery. The shop is full of all kinds of crystals, rocks, jewelry, and books. The back of the shop offers an incredible view of Camano Island. I also recommend peaking in Firehouse Glass Gallery. The old fire station has been converted into a blown glass studio that allows you to watch the artists create while you browse the open-air shop.

Lake Mead, Henderson, NV. The past few weeks my anxiety has been flaring up and today it was particularly bad. I really felt like I needed to get out into nature, put away my phone, and reconnect with the environment. After spending an hour outside my body and spirit feel calmed and refreshed. For me, spending time in nature always makes me feel more connected to myself. It allows me to get out of my head. What are some of your favorite places to go when you need to recharge?
