Witches, self care is everything! Friendly reminder 😊
Negative self-talk (whether spoken or thought) is literally:
directing harmful energy toward yourself.
putting energy into a version of yourself and your life that you hate.
intentionally or unintentionally wishing yourself harm.
Negative self-talk is literally hexing yourself.
Be kind to you.
Call out to all witches who haven’t practiced in months, whose only magic lately has been small prayers or burning incense, witches who are so focused on everything that’s happening around them who lost count of when it was the last full moon, a big call out to those witches
You are still valid
Treatses please!

I wish for people to share my story so that other people may feel comfortable sharing theirs. Abortion is never a decision that is made lightly. It’s heartbreaking, and sad. But it is something that needs to be talked about now more than ever. Our rights to our own bodies is being taken away. Today it’s 3 states. In the future, it could be even more. These laws are opening the doors for unsafe procedures that could endanger and kill women.
Abortion may not be for everyone and THAT IS OKAY. A woman should be able to have the legal choice as to whether or not she should be able to. If a woman is against them, then she should feel safe to feel against them for HERSELF. Not everyone agrees with it.
———————
It’s truly disgusting what’s happening in our government these days in the way of Women’s rights. Religion being used as tool to rule the female reproductive system. It’s disgusting, vile, and cruel.
You can completely disagree with abortions.
You can be completely against abortions.
But where in that does it make it okay, to dictate how everyone else handles their own reproductive organs.
TMI that I feel is necessary. Upsetting information. Major trigger warning.
But at this point in losing our rights, I want people to be aware. I want those who want to deny women this right, know that I am ONE of those women whom has had an abortion.
Lately I have heard,
“But I could never hate you for that. I just hate others that do it.”
“I would never let you go to jail for it.” Yet would allow others to.
“I would never let you recieve the death penalty.” But believe other women should.
Everyone wants to share these articles and throw their opinions; until they’re faced with it directly. Then they stammer and clam up. Then the double standards pour out.
Nobody wants to talk about the pain or hurt, or emotional toil that comes from it. Those are the ugly details.
These are the details that SHOULD be shared. So that people realise it’s not always a quick trip fix.
You may already love and care for a woman whom has had to go through an abortion. Whether it be from rape, incest, or because it’s not what she wanted.
I am one of those women.
If that bothers you, delete me.
STOP READING IF YOU’RE BOTHERED EASILY.
I’m truly sorry if this makes anyone upset, but I am so tired of the double standard people in my life are throwing at me.

When I was one month shy of my 19th birthday, I had an abortion; July 28th, 2009. It was a Tuesday morning. It took a few hours. I was given an ultrasound, and then medication to dilate my cervix. The procedure didn’t feel amazing. It was an intense pressure feeling on my lower abdomen. I listened to my ipod and cried. My mom was there for me through every step of it all. She helped me back to the car afterwards, and as we drove out, protesters shouted at our car. I cried again. When I got home I was in pain and nauseous. It took me months to process what I had done. I was 17 weeks pregnant. It was emotionally crushing to go through it, and has heavily affected my mental illness, for 10 years.
Going through this procedure was not a decision that was made lightly. Does it make me sad every year? Yes of course. Do I regret it? Sometimes yes. Would I change my choice if I could? No. No I would not. I am incredibly thankful that I had the legal right to say what happens in my life. Due to making this heavy decision I was able to persue two degrees of study & build a career for myself. I was able to raise my nephew and teach him how to become the young man he’s growing into. I was able to take care of my mother, and my grandparents.
— EDIT —
For those who want to argue the point of adoption;
I myself was put up for adoption when I was just 5 months old. I’m incredibly greatful for what my birth mother did for me. I grew up with an incredibly loving family who took the best possible care of me and gave me every opportunity to succeed. I was and still am incredibly lucky.
My experience is not the same for every child out there waiting for adoption. Right now there are over 400,000 babies, children and teenagers waiting for adoption. FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND. Whether they’re in homes, or foster care, not everyone who cries adoption is bothering to adopt those children. Yes many families who can not have children, are adopting. But there are still 400,000 children left without a forever family.
Because of choosing the decision I had, I was able to help a young wonderful boy avoid even the possibility of being part of that very large number. My mother & I took in my, now 11 year old, nephew. I raised him, became a mother, fed him, cared for him, and alongside my mother, was there for him every step of the way. We gave him everything and still continue to do so. When he was diagnosed with a disability, we made every effort to find him the best schooling and help possible. We made every effort and continue to do so, to ensure he is safe, and happy. Even now, my sister, his true mother, is doing her best to make sure he becomes an amazing young man.
It took me many years to stop calling myself a murderer because people who found out kept throwing it in my face.
I do not believe I committed murder and I believe I did the right thing. In doing so I was able to raise another child. I was able to take care of my mother when she had discovered she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I was able to take care of my two grandparents. I was able to graduate college and work in a school. I was able to move to Pittsburgh & become a special fx artist.
Everyone tells me they love me until they find out what I’ve been through. Abortion is not for everyone. And that’s okay. I believe in my heart I did the right thing, and accomplished so much good in doing so.
—END OF EDIT—
I can not change what I have done in the past.
When I am ready to have a child, I now will be wiser, financially in a better place, and mentally prepared to raise a child in a healthy and loving environment. I will understand how to make the difficult decisions, and how to properly care for a baby. I will be able to give a child every necessity that I could not have, 10 years ago.
Do not reply with, “I’m so sorry you went through that.” This decision 10 years ago has made me who I am today, & has made me a much stronger person.
I am one of these women our government is creating laws against. I am one of these women who would be jailed, if this was legal 10 years ago.
The government should not be in control of a woman’s reproductive organs. Whether based on religious beliefs not shared by every citizen, or personal beliefs. I fully respect people not believing in them. A person is entitled to their beliefs; but to inprison them, force them to live lives they do not, or even just deny them a right over their own body, is WRONG.
