BAFTA Los Angeles and BAFTA New York are pleased to announce the 2016 BAFTA US Student Film Awards Shortlist.
Thank you everyone for the continued support of the film's online release! It's been a great success so far and we are grateful for that. We also received some super exciting news the other day: we are on the shortlist for the BAFTA Student Film Awards in LA!
We competed amongst 245 students films from across the country and have made it into the top 30! We're very proud of his honor and to be representing our program at Son Jose State. The Finalists will be announced on May 23rd. Check out the link for more info.

We're proud to present to you all THE BLUE & THE BEYOND, a 2D animated short film completed last year by a crew of 117 students from San Jose State's Animation/Illustration program.
The project was a tremendous amount of work, and we hope you can take a moment to sit back and enjoy all the incredible effort that was put into making this story come to life. THE COUNTDOWN OFFICIALLY BEGINS!!!

Our next Artist Profile features the super cool Karlee Ludvik! Karlee was part of the Ink & Color team! We sat her down and asked her some questions about working on the project:
1. What was your role in the making of the film? I did clean-up and color on a few scenes.
2. What were some of the challenges of working on this project? What I had the most difficulty with was finding the time between classes and work to do the coloring. It was also difficult at times to find room in the computer lab, but the other people helping out on it definitely made it worth all the trouble.
3. What did you learn? It taught me quite a bit about time management, and just how much work it takes to make such a film. Before the film, I also had no idea how much the different teams of artist relied on the others for the pipeline to progress. It was really neat.
4. What's in your Beyond? There would be dragons. Lots of dragons.

This one follows Alvin Concepcion and his compositing team as they brought all the pieces of the production pipeline together to create the final shots for the film. Enjoy!
