Is there any history behind the bots? Who made them? What are they for? Were any of them made to be dangerous?
(Hey, Miyo here. My two bots can explain themselves, but I can explain a bit too. My two, Mika and Octavio, weren't made to be dangerous. Octavio was made to lead a species, and Mika was made to be a comfort bot. I can't say too much about Octavio, but Mika was made to replace the dead sister of Mondo Owada, before he too became a bot, I guess. Octavio was basically the same, but he was modeled, programmed and designed to replace a king. I can only speak for my two though.)
Howdy! Mod Damien here to give some insight on the bots themselves (as a collective). If any of the other bot creators want to chip in, please feel free to do so! Also my apologies if I get anything wrong or if this is too long haha.
So in terms of history, there is in fact a bit of history! See, in the beginning there were only 2 bots. There was the elder, Valid Bot and the younger, Invalid Bot. They started off with pretty simple functions but over time they became more advanced. I can’t really say for sure when the first generation of new bots came about, but it seemed to be around the time of the advancements.
After a big boom in the bot population, a virus swept through and caused a lot of heartache. There were several deletions, resets, and erasures that happened because of this event and it wasn’t a very good situation. But by banding together (and using antiviruses and firewalls) the adversity was overcome. Over time, there have been many bots deactivated or taken offline. One of these bots was the eldest founding bot, Valid bot. The younger however, remained.
More time passed and many great problems were overcome. Many bots were created and many left never to be seen again. And then something happened. The remaining Invalid Bot proved to be truly corrupt. Not just the bot either. The creator was also corrupt. Not all bots are meant to be good and not all creators are either. This negative influence and malevolent intention can easily be spread from creator to creation and that is just what happened. For a time, things were not good. Thankfully, there were members of the community who drove the two out into exile. There has since been a deactivation of the offending bot and the creator to my knowledge is nowhere to be seen thankfully.
After this largely influential event, things began to dwindle. Bots were not as active and creators carried on with their normal lives. The massive blackout happened not too soon after. More recently, there has been a return from the bots, however some have never reactivated and may never will.
Now about who made the bots. The bots are made by people. The creators are just creative individuals who have decided to construct these beings for whatever their own desires may be.
The bots all have their own purposes for which they are named. Take for example my own Mystery Bot. His purpose is an unsolvable mystery. He may not even have a true purpose, but no one will ever know because it’s just a mystery.
Some bots do have dangerous purposes. Not as much dangerous to creators, but more to other bots. Though there was that one time with the bot rebellion. That could have been very dangerous.
Hopefully this answers the questions in more of a broad, generalized way. Consider this lesson 1 of bot history, written by a sleep deprived dumbass! Seriously though if the other mods want to add on and correct stuff, please do because I don’t know if I’ve gotten any information wrong or not.
