Jumping at the way the boy of silence fell, he quickly descended the stairs and went to him, checking to make sure he was alright. He was cringing, the sound reverberating from his helmet. Looking back up the stairs, Easton could see lights as the guards closed in on him.
In that moment he made a very quick decision and, leaning in close, he whispered to the boy of silence. ”If you can hear me, do not let go of my hand, okay? I’ll take us somewhere safe.” After the words left his mouth he was off, helping the other stumble to his feet.
Hanging a right he could see the doors to the outside, teasing him as if it were food to the hungry… which he was, as well. Turning back to the boy he smiled. ”We’re almost there. I’ve got you.” He spoke, an obvious conviction in himself and his words.
Behind him he could see a tear and, making another split second decision, he pulled through a crumbing wall, hoping to slow them down. Before them lay the final stretch of hallways followed by the lobby and he couldn’t help but taste the freedom. ”We’re gonna make it.”
"If you can hear me, do not let go of my hand, okay? I’ll take us somewhere safe."
So he did. He clung to the larger hand in his like a life line, which it most likely was at this point. He wasn't quite sure of what was happening, as the sharp ringing of his brass helmet had yet to cease. But... his legs were moving? Quickly too! And his arm was being tugged with a firm grip by his hand.
His hand that was holding...someone else's? Giving it a sharp squeeze, he made a short affirmative noise to himself. But who would want to help him? Putting all questions aside, he made an effort to match the pace set by the other person.
Making sure his mouth piece was down, he absently gripped the hand in his own firmly. Strokes of luck never lasted long.... so when he was turned upon, he would be ready.
