The Suffragettes 

These amazing women suffered beatings, imprisonment, abuse, indeed gave their lives, so that we could vote on the same equal footing as men.

We owe it to these women to take part in the political process - the apathy shown by so many women today is frightening. 

We may not get paid what we deserve, we may still be made to feel intimidated when we’re on our own (it’s true, don’t deny that you go past a building site and you don’t slightly withdraw into yourself), but they set us on a road that we cannot take for granted.
