Basic Crystals for Every Witch š
This is by no means all encompassing, but as someone who specializes in crystals, I can say that these are the most basic stones that every witch will want in their supplies.
Clear Quartzš - This crystal can be used for literally anything and is very easy to program with your intent. Stock up on this stone because it can be used in replacement of any crystal in a spell. It is also a great stone to use if you really want to give your will a big boost, because clear quartz amplifies everything. And the best part is if youāre worried about your local crystal shops sources, you can find this stone naturally in just about any creek bed that has gravel patches.
Rose Quartzš - The stone of love of yourself and others. This is another handy stone to have because not only can it help encourage self-esteem, but it can bring love your way. Familial, platonic, or romantic. It wonāt discriminate based on what you want or need.
Amethystš® - A great stone to use if youāre looking for inner peace in your life. This stone brings about a soothing environtment and helps to keep you calm and collected. And for any aspiring psychics out there, this is the perfect stone to start training your third eye. Good for any spell where raw spiritual energy is needed.
Smokey Quartzā° - A really good stone to keep you grounded and connected to the psyichal plane in times of high stress. It takes negative energy and cleanses it before releasing it back into the world. Placing it at the feet opens a protective circle.
Hematiteāļø - A good stone to use if you have issues with anger. It can help promote level headed thinking, especially in times of stress. Also a very good protection stone, carrying it in your pocket creates a ward/barrier around yourself to keep out negativity.
Sunstoneāļø - A great stone for those struggling with depression, or having a lot of self worth issues (!!this does not replace a doctor and medicine!!)) Its the stone of the sun and brings with it happiness and joy.
Moonstoneš - A stone of great love and sympathy, is helps foster positive energies and emotions. Bringing you closer to your feminine side, this is the stone of the moon. Also another good stone for those aspirings psychics!
Labradorite⨠- My absolute favorite stone thatās great from beginners because it can help light your path in the craft. It can bring you inspiration and helps you think outside the box.
Sodaliteš - The stone of logic and intuition. A very good piece to have for all the baby witches and students, because it can keep you focused when researching and studying. Can also aid in soothing a panick attack.
Turquoiseš - This is a very good general healing stone, and good to have for my healers out there. (!!this does not replace a doctor or medicine!!)) It can also help bring friendship.
Pyriteā”ļø - Not only a good stone to use if youāre looking to bring wealth to yourself or home, but great if youāre feeling sluggish in the morning this stone can help give you a little energy to start the day.

Ritual for Positive Thoughts
WHAT YOUāLL NEED:
a bowl
water
salt
lavender oil (optional; be sure it is safe for skin!)
a rag
INTENT:Ā To bring forth positive thoughts and help reduce nightmares.
STEPS:
Gather your water and salt into a bowl; use two drops of lavender oil if using.
Let the tip of your rag soak in the water.
Close your eyes and focus on the water. Charge it with positive energy by holding your hand over it, not touching.
Take your rag and gently dab it from one temple to the other, using 5-7 light dots of the soaked against your forehead while focusing on positive energies.
Save mixture and repeat daily and/or nightly.
From the Archives: Dream Lore
āThere are many folk beliefs in the Ozarks surrounding dreams and dream interpretation. Dreams are often used by healers to divine what might be wrong with their patient. Vance Randolph records one such story: āOne old lady who has cured warts for a large family says that she just lets āem alone until she happens to dream of a man, then seeks this fellow out and induces him to spit some tobacco juice on a penny; after rubbing the warts with the penny she gives it to the man, and as soon as he spends the coin the warts drop off. I asked her if the warts āpassedā to the men who spit on the coins. She looked a bit disturbed by this query but answered stoutly that she ānever had no complaints.āā In this case the man the woman dreamed played an active role in the healing process. Sometimes the healer will dream certain āsignsā that need to be examined, like a sort of puzzle, in order to work out what might be happening. These signs often correspond with other cultural symbols but are also sometimes the product of the healerās own interpretations. In the past dreams were also traditionally used in the Ozarks for love divination. Randolph records several interesting examples: āAn old woman once told me that if a girl counts nine stars each night for nine consecutive nights, on the ninth night she will inevitably dream of her husband-to-be. A simpler method is to stare very hard at the brightest star in sight and wink three times; this produces the dream on the first night and gets the same result with much less expenditure of time and energy.ā āSometimes a mountain damsel boils an egg very hard, then removes the yolk and fills the cavity with salt. Just before bedtime she eats this salted egg. In the night, according to the old story, she will dream that somebody fetches her a gourd filled with water. The man who brings her the water is destined to be her husband.ā āA girl near Clinton, Arkansas, tells me that she has only to write the names of nine boys on a slip of paper and put the paper between her breasts at bedtime; she is sure to dream of the one who will be her husband.ā āThe girl who looks at the new moon over her right shoulder and repeats: New moon, new moon, do tell me Who my own true lover will be, The color of his hair, the clothes that he will wear And the happy day he will wed me, will dream of her future mate that night.ā āOr a girl may urinate on the sleeve of a manās shirt and hang it up between her bed and the fireplace. In this case her future husband is forced to appear in the night and move the shirt so that it will not burn. āHe aint really there, of course,ā one woman told me, āShe just dreams it.āā Here are some common dream interpretations listed by Randolph. Many of them are similar to other interpretations coming in from European folklore sources. āTo dream of muddy water means trouble, to dream of snakes presages a battle with oneās enemies, to dream of money means that the dreamer will be poorer than ever before. A dream of white horses is unlucky and may mean sickness or death in the family. A dream of death is good luck if the dream comes at night and usually signifies a wedding, but to fall asleep in the daytime and dream of death is very unfortunate. A dream of childbirth is always welcome, a sign of a happy and prosperous marriage. The man who dreams repeatedly of fishes will attain great wealth. To dream of chickens is bad luck, and the vision of a black boat means an early death. A lady at Fort Smith, Arkansas, told me that she had discarded nearly all the superstitions of her childhood, but still felt that it is bad luck to dream about cattle. To dream of a hoe or a rake signifies a happy marriage. The girl who dreams always of storms and floods will marry a rich man. It is good luck to dream of pigeons or doves, and usually means that a fortunate love affair is just around the corner.ā āThe first dream that one has in a new house, or when sleeping under a new quilt, will nearly always come true many mountain girls are anxious to ādream outā a new quilt or coverlet. The same may be said of a dream related before breakfast, or of one dreamed on Friday and told on Saturday: Friday nightās dream, on Saturday told, Will always come true, no matter how old.ā āAn old woman at Pineville, Missouri, told me that as a little girl she dreamed of a gigantic snake coiled around her fatherās log house. She says this was a sign of the Civil War which broke out a few months later, in which her father and two brothers were killed. In 1865 she dreamed that the big snake was dead, upon which she knew that the War would soon be ended.ā There are also many traditional remedies for bad dreams. Here are a couple mentioned by Randolph: āMrs. May Kennedy McCord, of Springfield, Missouri, says that the best way to stop unpleasant dreams is to stuff cloth into the key hole. But Iām not sure that she means this to be taken literally.ā āSome people are accustomed to place a knife under the dreamerās pillow, to prevent nightmares. I once noticed a small girl, not more than ten years old, sleeping with the handle of an enormous homemade bowie knife sticking out from under her pillow. āMaizie used to wake up a-hollerinā,ā the mother told me, ābut since I put that there knife under the piller, we aint had no more trouble.ā Somnambulism is related to nightmares in the hillmanās mind, and there is a widespread belief that one should never awaken a sleepwalker, as this may cause instant death. The Ozarker who sees a friend walking in his sleep just strides along beside him and tries to keep him from getting into danger, but makes no effort to wake him up.ā ā Iāve also heard you can tie three knots in your pillowcase, then take out each knot, slowly, one at a time, and that will prevent a nightmare. You can also sleep with the Bible under your pillow. That, like the keyhole remedy above, are focused at preventing the work of witches on the dreamer. Thereās a belief that witches can enter a room through the keyhole, so stopping it up would be a good remedy. Along those lines you can also hang a sieve above your bed, or leave out a dish of salt or mustard seeds to prevent the work of witches. Itās said that witches have to count all the seeds or grains of salt, or they have to pass through every hole in the sieve before they can work on you. The Bible remedy works in the same way. The witch has to read the entire Bible before she can work on you.
Decided to revamp an older sigil. Having trouble holding it all in again.

Listen, from one white person to another: when thereās a Native American person on a post informing you that the ritual of smudging was stolen from their sacred practices and appropriated by witches, and I give you a valid alternative that your white ass can use without contributing to the problem, your place is not to come into my DMs trying to argue ābut ancient rituals change to have new meaningsā like Native American people arenāt still real people living daily with the consequences of having their land stolen, their culture either eradicated or pillaged for profit and their voices ignored every damn day in favor of new age western spiritualism.
This is not ancient history. This is current, it is live. And you will learn to respect that.
You were in the wrong, perhaps even unknowingly so. But now you know better. Act like it.
āBut we as a people faced persecution during the burning timesā¦ā
Okay, sorry Hot Topic, I didnāt know you were there in King Jamesās court. My bad. Also you may want to put that victim complex down, youāre straining your back with that reach.
Iāve fielded six of these in the last hour myself.Ā

āAncientā.
Bring-bring hello, yes, the 1950s want their āancientā religion based on contemporary 20th century spiritualism back. Yes, Iāll hold.
Well, of course Wicca is actually five thousand years old and everything done in Wicca is Entirely Authentic To The Druids, didntyaknow?
Hilariously I grew up in a place where the town name meaning translates as āDruids Rockā so we always had a bunch of hippy new agers running up to the moors to run naked around a standing stone.
Erected in 1973 by the local farming community š
Please, PLEASE tell me you charged $$$ to escort them to the rock.Ā
Of course we did, it was a vital part of the tourist economy. (helped to pay for conservation of the actual standing stones and stopped people from vandalizing the ruins)
Also just to curtail some hurt feelings here, Iāve got zero issue with anyone being Wiccan, you do you, itās an entirely valid religion. Iām not making fun of you.
Iām making fun of the people who had the audacity to come into my inbox claiming to be Wiccan, (Yāknow, that whole āharm noneā bit) threatening me over ādisrespecting their cultureā when the entire point of the original post isā¦.itās not their culture! Itās not mine either! But some of you sure are fighting hard to die on this hill that doesnāt belong to you though. But uh, I guess we already knew about thatā¦
Excellent. Good. I Approve.Ā
And second what Joy said; Iāve met plenty of wiccans who were fine. Weāre talking about the specific type of wiccan who will come into my inbox yelling in indignation because they are being told that they cannot have this particular thing and showing a complete lack of knowledge about the history of their own religion.Ā Ā
Remind me to put a link to some Actual Anthropological Articles about this topic when I have time to dig through last semesterās readings.

ā„ļøSimple Grounding and Centering Yoga Poses/ Routine. ā„ļø
Tree pose- Start by standing at the bottom of your yoga mat. Keep your feet about hip width apart and do your best to align your spine/head/knees. Imagine there are rods running from your shoulders down into your feet. Slowly inhale and raise your arms up above your head, you can lock your finger together or just press together your palms.
Toe touch- From Tree pose, exhale and reach down towards your toes. Donāt focus on trying to get as far down as you can, focus on keeping your back straight and aligned, flexibility is not priority.
Push up position- From this pose, inhale and walk your arms forward until you are in a push up position. If you feel inclined, you can lower your elbows to the ground and hold a plank pose.
Upward Dog pose- From whatever position you hold now, exhale and bring your hips to the ground then straighten your arms. Your toes should be flat behind you and your back should arch up.
REPEAT BACKWARDS
while you do this, focus most on breathing and aligning your body
