How to get rid of stubborn whiteheads
those peel off masks are really good, painful, but really clean your skin. also exfoliating helps me personally x
What do nip and fab gycolic pads to
sorry for the late response, but they’re great for acne scars. It’s basically acid exfoliation which helps brighten your skin generally and aids hyper pigmentation and scars! There’s loads of great toners like nip and fab x
How to be a makeup addict and save?
Hello my lovelies, Long time no see! Y'all know the drill, we're busy with university & launching our own lash line so we don't get that much time to write quality blog posts that you guys would actually like. *sad face*
The tactic:
Now, if you're like me you probably have a strong love for makeup or you're addicted...still better than drugs. We're often left under the misconception that we have to buy things at full price, which is totally wrong. The best way to stay efficient is to wait for the right time!
Which basically means sales.
For example let's say FeelUnique has a 20% sale — that most likely means you can get your high end foundations cheaper! Make use of sales! They can save you a lot of money! I think a month back I bought the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation and the Urban Decay All Nighter both for £26 because of the sales! (Which is reviewed on le blog)
Black Friday is the day you need to save for. Why? Because that's when they sort of have to put a sale on because they'll somewhat be attacked if they don't. Make the most of it. I’d also recommend saving on this day because this year companies like ABH, Tarte, Zoeva, Morphe etc had AMAZING sales. Also a very good time to get that good but expensive skincare!
Don't know where to look?
There are so many bloggers who make lists for their readers so they can save!
Two of my favourites for lists are SkinFaceBeauty(x) and IBreatheMakeup (x). I occasionally announce sales on Instagram but these girls are dedicated!
Inevitably, timing is your biggest factor. We all know the urge of wanting something instantly but if you wait you'll actually feel better that you spent less for good quality!
List of things for you that you can get on sale:
Zoeva brushes -
I bought the MUA set which I'm yet to review for £160 — now before you stab me like my mother did. I actually got each brush for £5-6 which is way cheaper than what they actually sell their individual ones for. Is it worth it? YES!! But get it on sale, my loves!
Also brushes in general! (Morphe, Sigma, Spectrum Brushes etc)
Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancing concealer - Legend has it that this can conceal an ugly heart. I'm kidding but this concealer is insanely pigmented. If you're a regular reader you know this is the one concealer I wanted to get my hands on and I did — on sale. The original price is £38 but I got it for £28 when BeautyBay had their sale!
Foundations - I'm being quite general with the term but you can save so much by getting them when companies have sales on. You can save up to £6 per foundation which can add up!
Skincare - Loads of companies decide to put their products on sale, for instance Nip and Fab - they offer a 30% student discount on their site as well as boots and superdrugs occasionally have sales on.
Again I recommend following iBreathemakeup_ on Instagram because she is literally on top of everything!
I’ve saved on the GA Luminous Silk & UD All Nighter so far. Although I buy them together I saved £12...to spend on more makeup. (Kidding)
These are just some of the products I've really saved on and should probably continue to do so. I actually do wait for sales before buying full price items because when you're a student books have to come first. And when you're majoring in English Literature you practically have a library in your own house.
Another good thing you should probably get is UniDays, student discount not only for makeup but clothes, electronics and even off Apple.
Remember, you can get luxuries efficiently but do remember they are NEVER a necessity. This is for my readers who'd like to save while trying really amazing products.
I am not promising you that you’ll save so much every time, but you will save quite a bit and the fact that you got it on sale will just feel better. *creepy moon emoji*
So...
That’s all for today, see you next year. (yes i’m funny) I hope this was somewhat helpful to those who want to save or want high end products but cannot justify the price because it is a BIG profiting industry.
Again we shall try to blog more — but we don’t want to put bad content out there or quality we’re not happy about!

Spotless Beauty Blender
Hello lovelies,
Yes, we did go mia for a while because of university (deadlines on deadlines on deadlines) but we are back and better than ever. I put a poll up on twitter and this was the one you guys wanted to see.
I’ve previously done a post about makeup cleaning 101 which can be found here but I stated that I couldn’t get the stains out of my sponges. Now, this is common and a lot of people struggle with this regardless of what cleanser they use. So, I was browsing on YouTube as usual and I came across a video (I don’t remember who — but credit goes out to you!!) On how to remove stains from makeup sponges.
You need:
Washing up liquid (Fairy, etc)
Olive Oil
If you read my last post you know I said you could use olive oil to get foundation out of the inside of your sponges — but I never thought of mixing the two. This won’t work with brush cleansers — it has to be a washing up detergent because, I’m guessing, it’s stronger and more powerful in removing the dirt. (Foundation)
The steps are really simple all you need to do is put fairy in a bowl and add some olive oil until the colour becomes opaque. (solid — colour will become lighter) Once this is done lather your sponge in the mixture you have just made and watch the magic happen and rinse thoroughly under the tap. I then rewash with the Freedom Soap Sanitiser as it makes it easier to take the fairy out.
Now, of course, this is hard to do daily — so I still recommend the daily clean with the Freedom Sanitising Soap Cleanser and this method as a weekly detox for your sponge.
Before (washed with freedom soap):
After:
Please do this at your own cause and make sure you let the sponge dry overnight before using it.
So...
It worked better than normal soap for brushes and sponges and the things you need can be found at home.
Give this a try and let me know what you think!
Hope you enjoyed this post and sorry for the inactivity — we are third year students — but we do try to post as much as we can. Hopefully more from now on!

I have been getting under the skin spots as I suffer with acne do u knw any home remedies which would clear it ,?
Nip and Fabs glycolic overnight mask works really well for eliminating those! I'd say exfoliate thoroughly at least once a week. For home remedies a tumeric mask would be great x

Is Kylie Jenner ripping you off? | Update/Realisation
Hello Dolls,
Now I’m going to get straight the point. I came across a youtube video from Stephanie Nicole (the realist youtuber for product reviews) about her Kylie Jenner experience. If you remember I did a post on my KJ order which was WAY over priced. But as stated in the post was probably going to be a one time thing.
So while watching this video, which I’ve embedded for you so you can watch for yourself, Stephanie mentions a lot of things:
- Change in formula (which I’ve seen bloggers post about) - Change in shipping price - Alleged rumours about distribution. Similar to colourpop although not confirmed - Product ethic.
Before you come for me with your lip wand daggers I’d like to put a little disclaimer out there. I am not bashing Kylie, I am making aware my readers, friends, strangers etc of what she’s actually doing. Second of all she doesn’t care what I say she’s way too busy ripping people off. Props to her for doing it so well.
(I may come across angry or impolite, whatever you’d like to call it. You also may think I am very late actually knowing this but I don’t think most people are aware.)
So as Stephanie tells us from her research, Kylie lip kits are most likely, if not confirmed, distributed from the same factory as Colourpop. The ingredients are identical. So I have the lip kit in the colour ginger, purchased not too long ago. And yes the ingredients are almost identical other than colour numbering. Now to slap your name on and price it that high knowing your audience is quite young is shocking and a little disgusting.
One colourpop lipstick: $6
One Kylie Jenner lipstick: $17
One colourpop lip liner: $5
One Kylie Jenner: $14
It’s almost as if she thought let me times the price by 3 and minus 1 and sell this at a high end price!!
So I did some comparisons formula wise and packaging wise:
The packaging is identical, the tube, lipliners everything but the fluffiness of the wand. All it looks like she did was change the design.
Swatches:
Look how similar they look when swatched on the hand. Top is Ginger Bottom is Timesquare.
They dry similarly too.
Ingredients:
Kylie Jenner's:
Lipstick:
Lip Liner:
Colourpop:
Lipstick:
ISODODECANE, DIISOPROPYL DIMER DILINOLEATE, NYLON-12, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, SILICA, POLYPROPYLSILSESQUIOXANE, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499) RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850) TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891) YELLOW 6 LAKE (CI 15985).
Lip Liner:
MATTE DIMETHICONE, CERESIN, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, POLYETHYLENE, TOCOPHEROL, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) OIL, STEAROXY DIMETHICONE, BHT, ALUMINUM CALCIUM SODIUM SILICATE, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, CALCIUM SODIUM BOROSILICATE, CALCIUM ALUMINUM BOROSILICATE,SODIUM POTASSIUM ALUMINUM SILICATE, SILICA, ALUMINA, TIN OXIDE, [+/- RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850),(RED 7, CI 15850),(RED 30 LAKE, CI 73360),(IRON OXIDES, CI 77491),(IRON OXIDES, CI 77492),(IRON OXIDES, CI 77499),(RED 6, CI 15850),(RED 28 LAKE, CI 45410),(RED 28, CI 45410),(RED 27 LAKE, CI 45410),(RED 21, CI 45380),(RED 21 LAKE, CI 45380),(MANGANESE VIOLET, CI 77742),(YELLOW 10 LAKE, CI 47005),(YELLOW 5 LAKE, CI 19140),(YELLOW 6 LAKE, CI 15985),(BLUE 1 LAKE, CI 42090),(MICA, CI 77019),(BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, CI 77163),(TITANIUM DIOXIDE, CI 77891),(BRONZE POWDER, CI 77400),(COPPER POWDER, CI 77400),(RED 33, CI 17200),(CARMINE, CI 75470),(RED 40 LAKE, CI 16035),(RED 36, CI 12085),(ORANGE 5, CI 45370),(RED 6 LAKE, CI 15850),(RED 22, CI 45380)]
I have italicised differences in the colourpop lip liner which are not included in the KJ liner. I believe the CI is colouring to make the actual colour and such, so that cannot really be compared. But as said the ingredients are identical for the liquid lipstick and extremely similar for the lip liner. (Same ingredients just extras added in CP)
I think this sets it for me. I won’t be purchasing from KJ again, after it cost my a buttload for two products the last time.
Find that post here (x)
So...
Hope this post was helpful or eye opening to the least. Again not really bashing Kylie, just bringing facts to the tabele.
All credit goes to Stephanie Nicole for revealing the truth!

Camomile Cleansing
Hello lovelies,
I’m back at it again with the Body Shop products, but honestly I wouldn't write on them if I didn't love them so much.
Today’s post is more on skincare, namely- the camomile range.
I recently repurchased the cleansing oil (third time going) and this time I indulged in the cleansing butter as well, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed in the least.
How I use it:
For my own nightly skin routine, I use the cleansing oil first. Just rub a decent amount into your face, then, using your fingertips work it into your skin, feel it emulsify and then rinse it all off.
That cringe moment when you see all your makeup wash off into the sink :}
After I pat my skin dry, for extra insurance I use the cleansing butter, mostly for my eyes and wipe it off with a hot cloth.
My skin usually feels much cleaner and incredibly soft after this, and so I either use an exfoliator (depending on the day) or just tone and moisturise with your choice products to finish off.
Benefits:
Cleansing oil is great for getting rid of stubborn waterproof makeup without too much rubbing and the cleansing butter is amazing for the main reason that it gets rid of any lasting makeup without fuss and its absolutely perfect for sensitive skin (as far as I’m concerned) it’s a much nicer formula to apply, especially since I’m much more opposed to make up removing wipes because they make my lids and under eye area feel sore after I try to get my make up off.
Are they worth it?
I picked these up from the body shop for £15 on a ‘buy one get one half price’ sale, but originally they’re £10 each which is worth it considering they work well and don't cost as much as high end cleansers that practically do the same job.
If anyone has used this product, please let me know your thoughts on it, and feel free to give any suggestions for improvements and reviews you'd like to see us do in the future.

Hijabi Haircare Routine
Hello lovelies,
Hope you’re all well. As it is reading week for me thought I’d knuckle down on catching up with this hectic last year of university while also blogging a little.
As the title suggests this is a haircare routine for Hijabis, anyone can use it of course, but as a hijabi myself I thought I’d share how I maintain my hair. Now if you’re confused as to what a hijab is it’s something Muslim women wear to cover their hair. It is a choice to cover up in order to pertain our beauty. (Not all Muslim women wear it and nor are all of us forced) Now because our hair is covered when we’re out sometimes oxygen doesn’t pass through as well as it can for people who don’t cover their hair and such.
So my first piece of advice would be is letting your hair breathe by taking your hijab off when you can or even loosening it a bit if you’d rather prefer not to. Avoid wrapping it around too tightly as your head will be throbbing at the end of the day.
Now to the actual routine,
Oils. Oils are your saviours. Forget expensive hair treatments and expensive shampoos. Your hair needs to be maintained just like skincare. If you’re brown like me you know oils have been almost a tradition in keeping your hair thick and healthy and they all have different purposes.
Coconut Oil (Dry hair)
Coconut oil is probably the most mainstream oil used nowadays for its various purposes, hair being one of them. The oil is actually extracted from the kernel or meat of the coconut. You usually find it cold pressed into a balm that melts with heat. I personally recommend Virgin Coconut oil as it works better than just coconut oil. (From my experience) This oil is recommended for dry hair, that needs a bit of life and softness. Using this weekly by leaving it in overnight will change your hair game massively. It’ll both look and feel better. (The longer you leave it in the more time it’ll have to soak in and condition your hair) You can always wrap a scarf or cling film around your hair for when you’d like to sleep. It’ll add shine to your hair while nourishing your roots.
Mustard Oil (Hair in need of nutrients)
Mustard oil is an old time favourite for me as my mum would slather it into my hair as a child. Mustard oil is a fatty vegetable oil resulting from the pressing of seeds. As well as benefitting your hair it has great health benefits too. Mustard oil has good amounts of minerals like calcium, iron, and magnesium. This oil in particular is often massaged in to the head allowing it to absorb properly while making your head feel super good. As it is rich in essential alpha fatty acids, this allows it to condition the hair properly.
Olive Oil (Stronger hair)
Olive oil is another favourites of my mums.’ It is a fat obtained from the olive itself. In the cold months of winter your hair is more prone to breakage and split ends, by adding a little olive oil you add weight and moisture to your hair. Olive oil is known to be rich in such as vitamins A, E and antioxidants. It also helps protect the keratin in hair while sealing in moisture.
Tip: Mixing in lemon juice and olive oil can be a beneficial treatment for dandruff.
Castor Oil (Growth & Hairlines)
This is oil is great for growth. If you regret cutting your hair a tad bit too short this oil will work wonders for you. This is because Castor oil holds ricinoleic acid and omega-6 essential fatty acids, which enhances blood circulation to the scalp thus promoting hair growth. You can use it as frequently as you want to. You can also mix it in with coconut oil as a nourishing growth oil. This works great for receding hairlines — which can happen if you tie your hijab too tightly around your hairline. Do not panic, mix coconut oil and castor oil and voila. Your own growth oil.
These are all natural so they virtually have no side affects. Do remember you can mix these oils and use them together if you want a full oil treatment. These can often be found at your local supermarket if not, they can be easily purchased online for a decent price tag.
Products I use after I shower:
So again I stay with the oil theme and use oil based products for my hair. Of course this is optional, but it adds to my hair being more tamed and shinier. I shower with really hot water which is bad for you hair, I’d recommend cold water or warm water as its better for your hair. You’ll feel an actual difference. Or you could put your hair under cold water at the end of your shower which I bravely do for 15 seconds or so.
L'Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
I mentioned this in my last haircare routine. I used to use the spray version which I can no longer find where I buy this from. They have another range for coloured hair, if you feel that would suit you better. This oil adds the finishing touches to your hair making it look glossy, nourished and silky. Two pumps or even one should be fine for the ends of your hair.
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Strong Roots Spray
I’ve added this oil in recently to my after shower haircare routine. It prevents hair breakage while giving my roots a lot of life. Palmers do a mist oil for dry oil, which I haven’t used, but you may like. Again this is optional, it has a strong smell of peppermint, which adds to great smelling hair.
These can be purchased from Amazon, Sainsbury's, FeelUnique , etc.
SO…
I hope you enjoyed this post, I didn’t want to solely focus on my haircare routine as it wouldn’t benefit you as much. As I’m a third year student in university, posts may be a little slow. We may miss a week. Of course, we try to remain as active as possible but you get the gist.

Top 3 drugstore concealers!
Hi lovelies, I hope you’re all well. I’m aware of the autumn bug going around, which hasn’t hit me. Yet.
I thought this weeks post should be about my top 3 concealers, something I’ve rarely spoken about on my blog. So why not do an in depth post about my holy grail concealers? Now, to be quite honest I don’t really give in to high end concealers. Why? Because I think they cost way too much. You basically pay the price of a drugstore foundation or more. You also pay more than half the price of a high end foundation. (It’s never appealed to me) Yes, concealers are meant be more pigmented than foundations due to their purpose being to conceal. I do feel high end concealers need to offer way more for the price, for instance many of us still need colour correct, they can crease really badly , etc.
The only high end concealer I’ve actually tried is the UrbanDecay concealer, which wasn’t bad, it just didn’t have that wow factor for the price. You can easily find an alternative in your local boots or superdrugs. In the future my views may change, however, for now I have not been sold by anything high end. However, I am considering the Kevyn Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Enhancer as I have heard so many great things about it — as well as it striking me as different to your mainstream concealers. We shall see if I give in to the costly price of £38.
So let's get on to my actual favourites, shall we?
One of the first things I tried when I got into makeup was: concealer. So I’ve been experimenting for a couple of years now. These concealers have been my favourites for over a year now. I have different purposes for each of them, as I feel the way work differently for different things.
Maybelline Fit Me (Concealing)
A lot of people claim that this is a dupe for Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, I wouldn’t know as I haven’t tried it. I use this concealer to cover my bags of no sleep. The pigmentation is really good and the concealer itself isn’t too thick, allowing it to blend seamlessly. It can also be used to cover those pesky blemishes or spots that you may have. I personally don’t use this for highlighting as I find it looks too intense and unnatural. If I feel my under eyes are looking worse on some days, I use this before I highlight/brighten my under eyes — so I don’t look like a total zombie.
Shades used: Concealing (20), Highlighting (15)
Maybelline Age Rewind (Highlighting)
Hence why I use the Age Rewind in Light to highlight and brighten my under eyes. It isn’t as pigmented as the Fit Me concealer, so it doesn’t work as well for coverage and concealing. But that’s okay because I LOVE using this for highlighting and go through it like nothing. I love the round sponge tip allowing you to gently apply it. Like the Fit Me concealer it blends nicely and gives you a natural highlighted/brightened look for points of your face you’d like to brighten. Normally I use whatever is left on my BeautyBlender and dab it under my eyes to cover the bags and then I go over with the Age Rewind in a triangle shape under the eyes and blend it out.
Shades used: Light
LaGirl Pro Conceal (Concealing, Highlighting & Contouring)
Now this concealer is a favourite for most people due to its high pigmentation and how inexpensive it is. The tip of the concealer is like a brush giving you great precision. It can be used for concealing, brightening/highlighting and even cream contour due to the extensive range of shades. I prefer this concealer for its highlighting and brightening rather than concealing as I feel it’s too thick for the under eyes and takes a bit of work to blend in. (My personal preference — can be totally different for you) Works really well for highlighting and brightening and because they have so many shades you can find that right colour that compliments your face. They even do colour correctors which are quite popular. For contouring people often use the shade Cocoa (NC25-NC40) depending on how you like your contour. BeautyBase in Stratford, Westfield (London) have them in store for you to swatch, so it’d be best to see them in person if you want them for contouring.
However, I have found two flaws in this product that I look past due to it being inexpensive. Sometimes the product releases a strange watery liquid when you squeeze it out. (I’m not sure why, I know it has happened to quite a few people) The second is when you apply it, sometimes, you’ll come across little piled up bits. They’re tiny and can be scraped off, but can be quite annoying to come across. It only happens with some concealers, it’s not in all of them, depends which ones you come across.
Shades used: Contouring (Cocoa), Highlighting (Porcelain), Concealing (Natural)
Nonetheless a great inexpensive concealer!
Tip: If you feel like you crease a lot, get any loose powder and use a wet sponge and dab it into where you’d crease. It’ll stop you from creasing. Make sure your concealer is seamlessly blended before dabbing powder in.
So...
I hope you enjoyed this post and it helped you realise that drugstore/high street makeup can be just as good as high end makeup. Till next time lovelies.

I love to see the ones you have
I shall write up a post about it soon then, love xx
Could you do a perfume collection post ?
Hi love, I don't have that many perfumes as I'm into body sprays more. But I'll do ones with the ones i have. ❤️
Josè Eber VS ghd
Hello to our wonderful readers! Hope you guys are keeping warm and loving sweater season and fall colours <3
Today we thought we’d change it up a bit with a post dedicated to hair care! It’s not something we’ve spoken about much, but I know hair straightening is an absolutely essential factor in my life (I’d be a rolling ball of frizz without it.)
Let me give you the low-down on my hair straightening experience. As many girls are, I’ve been a die hard ghd fan- The latest one I had was a beautiful peacock limited edition in emerald green.
The one I have now however is a Josè Eber 1.5 Vibrating Flat Iron. I’m going to refrain from saying one is significantly better than the other because no two beautiful heads of hair are exactly the same and lets face it- they’re both pretty rad in their own way.
ghd
To me, ghd’s are probably the most famous on the market and you see them in every salon you pass by. Here’s what I really truly think about them.
Pros:
As I said before the packaging is GORGEOUS. Seriously, they never fail to make it feel like a birthday present.
Automatic shut down after 30 minutes, which is wonderful for those with a goldfish memory (read: me) and it starts beeping so you know when its been on too long.
Great for curling too. I tried it out loads, never really needed a curler if I was going for some nice soft curls.
They give you a pretty sleek finish, and it doesn’t take too long to get your do done either.
Two year manufacturer guarantee, and I’m sure they’ll send you a new plug for free if your own messes up!
Cons:
I didn’t use them very often, but I definitely felt my hair get thinner after a year with these (mind you, I was good with heat protection and hair care)
I’ve had three ghd’s overall and they really only lasted me about two years, just over two unfortunately with my recent ones. I’ve spoken to various people who are in agreement that ghd’s don’t last you too long and if you’re a student who’s funds are running pretty low it’s not the easiest thing to run out and buy another.
It’s one of those straightening things… Am I the only one who really smells the burn after trying to get my hair all pin-straight?
I personally have rather thin hair but using this on someone with thick hair I find its not really the best thing, unfortunately :o
Overall, I did honestly love these, they were super pretty, and easy to travel with but the lasting rate was not the best and I genuinely suffered when they broke, (and I was broke) for like three months.
Josè Eber
I came across these in Selfridges when a lady probably noticed my birds-nest and offered to try these out on me, and I must confess I hadn’t heard of them before but once she tried them on me (without ANY prep products) I was very, pleasantly surprised.
Pros:
VIBRATING TECHNOLOGY. For me, a very new concept. (I was like what is this? Is it gonna explode?) It’s supposed to do that (!!) and this, I was informed, was to reduce friction and prevent heat damage and give you a nice fluid glide with a sleek, straight finish.
Ideal for all hair types. Trying this out on thicker hair, let me tell you, it really works. Even thick curly hair in my experience looks super sleek and smooth to the touch.
The finish is completely natural looking- it never looks like you tried too hard, everyone thinks my hair is naturally straight (mwaha.)
It lasts you. Yas, my bedhead is on fleek.
Also pretty easy to curl with in my opinion.
MANUFACTURER’S LIFETIME GUARANTEE. I cried. I hear if you register it when you buy and return it to the company in the original packaging, they’ll send you a new one no matter how long its been. YES.
Cons:
Maybe I’m just paranoid but the burning smell is still kind of an issue, but again that’s on days where I’ve been at it for ages deciding between curly or straight.
Thicker plates. Not a major issue but if you’ve got a shorter fringe its somehow hard to get it look naturally straight. (Not the greatest explanation but you feel me.)
I’m kinda loving this at the moment and I have recommended it to anyone asking because the guarantee does make the purchase worth it, for me personally.
To conclude...
Both straighteners are pretty rad in their respective ways. Josè Eber sells at £139.99 which is not too bad, considering high end straighteners usually do sell for around this price. Not to mention the lifetime guarantee is kind of a saving point. The ghd’s I had were a limited edition that sold at £119.99 and are sadly no longer in stock, (though I’m pretty sure its just the IV series with a prettier face) the newer ones however sell for £165.00 which is a bit of stretch for me.
Whatever you go for, be levelheaded (ha) and treat your hair well. Even I take a heat break from time to time to give my hair a little oil treatment, but perhaps that is a story for another time- til we meet again!

Makeup Cleaning 101
Hello my lovely readers, As I am writing this I am suffering from mother natures monthly pain. Hope you're all well. I thought we'd switch it up a bit and take a break from reviews as that's all we've posted the past couple of times. So why not do a cleaning post?
Now, cleaning your brushes is absolutely vital. When I mean vital, I mean you HAVE to do it. It could potentially be the difference between breaking out and not breaking out and a major difference in your skin. Realistically think about it, if you're using your face brush or beauty blender/sponge every time you wear makeup, there's going to be product build up. That build up may contain germs and such from bad skin days. This isn't to gross you out, I used to wash my face tools weekly or leave it longer due to laziness. However, now I've started doing it daily in the evening. Not only does this prevent nasty breakouts but it also makes the whole process of washing your beauty blender easier as there won’t be that much product build up.
Essentially, our skin is something we have to take care of. This will come in another post but cleaning your face brushes/tools is a part of that. I'm not saying it'll stop your breakouts and your skin is going to instantly perfect. But it could prevent nasty breakouts as well as your products working better because there's no foundation gunk in them.
How to clean them?
You can use anything! Baby shampoo, anti bacterial hand wash, soap , etc. You get the gist. However, while doing this you want to make sure you're getting rid of the germs that lie within. Now companies offer cleaning products to do this. And anti bacterial soap will also do that for you. Z introduced me to the Freedom Studio Solid Brush Bath which is £7. Great for cleaning brushes while getting rid of the dirty germs. Like I said the choice is yours, but it's something that has to be done.
In my most honest opinion, I haven't come across a 'wow' product that cleans everything from my beauty blender. (Which is the main issue as I feel they stain so badly) For brushes, anything works. But this is because your beauty blender is a sponge that absorbs the product thus making it harder to clean and rinse out completely.
Beauty blenders:
A great trip to get stubborn foundation out is using oil! I know people use various oils but I found using olive oil was easier than baby oil. You want to pour a little baby oil where the foundation is and lather that oil in. Once you feel it's all in there, squeeze it under water. Otherwise the foundation ends up in other places of the beauty blender. You may be disgusted or happy that your sponge is releasing that gunk.
Another tip on deep cleaning your sponge is let your beauty blender soak. Just like when you have a stain on something you let it soak for a while before rinsing it out. So get a liquid cleaner, anything really, and leave it in a mug with some water and leave it over night. Now as I’ve mentioned, sponges stain like crazy and there’s only so much you can do till you want to tear it apart. This will just allow the soap to really get in there.
The second pic to the right is how they looked after being washed. I then soaked them in water with some liquid cleaner and left it over night. Rinsed it out and oil pulled the rest of the foundation. As you can see it was still stained, but I guess that’s better than nothing. It was quite affective, however I’m OCD about stains.
Note: Dye will come out from soaking it.
Brushes:
Brushes are way easier to clean than sponges in my opinion — they just take longer as we tend to hoard them. You can use baby shampoo, anti bacterial handwash or even soap. Anything that won’t be too hard to your bristles. I like using the Freedom Studio Solid Brush Bath which makes it easier for me. I’d say it’s a dupe to the beauty blender soap bar, they do the exact same thing for half the price.
You want to make sure you whip your brushes into shape so they dry normal. You can put them upside down or leave them on a towel to dry overnight.
Sometimes you can get Spot Cleaner Sprays, where you can clean it on the spot. This is great for eyeshadow brushes and such. Would not recommend for face brushes as those need to be cleaned deeply. Nyx does a great one that smells like baby wipes. (Does not deep clean as suggested in the name)

To make brush cleaning a little easier and quicker you can buy a cleansing palette, various brands offer them such as RealTechniques, however a cheaper one can be bough from primark. (there is nothing special about them) It just helps take our product quicker than your hands.
So that concludes this weeks post,
Hope this was somewhat informative to those confused about brush cleaning and how often to do it.

Vitamin E
Hello again ^^
Today's post is a Vitamin E post.
Honestly, the weather changes have my skin messed up, and even though the sudden transition into cold nights are my favourite thing because you can bundle up in your duvet, I’m starting to wake up in the morning with my skin feeling hella dry.
I’ve been trying out various ways to remedy this, but these Vitamin E products are probably the most skin friendly, and make your life a bit easier.
These products are lovely, they smell good and really bring in the moisture without having you look like you slapped on some slime.
The toner is essential to me, I use it every morning and every night- it feels soothing which is a change from the tea tree toner that made more sensitive areas on my face really sting sometimes. Also it's super good at getting excess makeup if you missed it in your cleanse routine.
The intensive cream is great! It's light but moisturising at the same time, and personally I think it's quite mattifying! (That's not a word but you get me..)
Lastly the facial mist is looove~ I use it mostly when I'm doing my makeup to give it a bit of a dewy look, but it's great to give your face a spritz at any time for a bit of hydration.
Benefits of Vitamin E: - It's known to be a great moisturiser - Absorbs well into the skin - Anti-inflammatory - Helps to decrease premature ageing signs in your skin
Hope this helps anyone looking to add to their skin routine or looking for something new. I love these and I hope you do too! (The rhyme tho.)

Are Kylie Jenner lip-kits worth the hype? || Review
Hello my lovely readers, I hope you're all well. I thought I'd shine some light on the much hyped Kylie lip products. I gave into the hype moreover to see if they were worth the money and well - I have mixed feelings. More of a personal attribute than to do with the actual product itself. I thought to myself if I was going to purchase it, I was going to go for a colour I don't have and basically for something new.
So I purchased the lip-kits in 'Ginger' a beautiful deep reddish orange as well as the lipgloss in Literally. Anyone who knows me knows I don't wear lip-glosses. I just feel like they don't appeal to me, however my mind was changed. Now that we have the product overview out of the way let me just mention that Kylie Jenner turned her insecurity into a business. And that is somewhat empowering — she's literally making good money off something that was once her insecurity. (i.e., her lip fillers and the hype the media did not let go) Now I've never been into the Kardashians or the Jenner's gossip — but this girl had her own challenge. I think if anything it should be inspiring to anyone and everyone out there that your insecurities don't defeat you, although she got lip fillers she still went out and made money out of the drama and backlash she got.
So let's go on to the product itself, I think the packaging is quite cute and nice. The actual bottle of the liquid lipstick is really similar to Nyx's Lingerie Range. I always thought that when they first came out. The colours she offers are absolutely beautiful — so many colours for different preferences and skin tones. It’s nice to see she takes into account that her audience is a variety of skin colours, which is something you don't always see makeup brands do. I was really happy with the colour, a bit darker than expected but it's something I didn't have in my lip collection. The lip liner glided on smoothly without being too slippery. The wear is really long lasting, however, I feel some drying towards the end which isn’t pleasant for my already dry lips. The colour will stay on without losing vibrancy — and what I’ve noticed is it only comes off if you eat a lot. (Like me who gets really hungry when at uni *lol*)
Out of 10 I’d give the lip kit a 8/10. She really knows what her audience wants. The formula isn’t sticky and isn’t drying till about 7/8 hours in. (Note: this is my experience — my lips are generally dry.)
The lipgloss lived up to the hype in all honesty. I opted for the darkest colour from the first 3 releases which was the lipgloss ‘Like.’ A brownish pink nude which looks complimenting on warmer skin tones. It was very pigmented so you could wear it without anything underneath. I personally prefer a lipliner underneath to help with a wear. Now this is a lipgloss, it won’t have the magical powers of a drying matte liquid lipstick. It has the right amount of gloss without looking too much. For someone, as myself, who has never been a lip gloss person I am in love. It went on smoothly and looked really flattering on. To the point, where I caught my sister trying it on! This is also really nice for people who have dry lips — a change from the absorbing matties.
Out of 10 I’d give this a 9/10. She did really well with this despite her wand issue when she first released them. (which now applies really well, much like a lip brush.) Feel like it could have a sleeker wand — but I’m not complaining.
Swatches:
‘Like’, ‘Ginger’ Lip Liner & ‘Ginger’ Liquid lipstick.
(Bear in mind, this colours look different in different lightings, skin tones , etc.)
The fatal flaw:
The big flaw is custom charges.
So realistically you’re paying $14.95 for shipping, unless she has an offer for cheaper shopping which she’s done recently.
That’s £11.95 already without any products, I paid roughly £15 custom charges for the two products I ordered. That’s a total of £26.95 just on that, without any products.
Lip kit = £22.36
Lip gloss = £11.56
With the amount paid for shipping and custom you could have bough another lip kit or two lip glosses.
This all totals to £60.87 for a liquid lipstick, a lip liner and a lip gloss. You tell me, is that worth it?
Now bear in mind I am not bashing Kylie’s actual product, I actually love them and somewhat see the hype. But that shipping and custom fee makes these way too expensive.
Would I purchase again?
Probably not, which is why when I made my order I opted for something I didn’t have at all.
So...
Customs can’t be defeated, that’s the law of the UK, but if she has shipping offers then make the most of it if you’re itching to try it out. You will be charged for anything above £15. Brands like Colourpop are worth the custom charges (recently had free international shipping, which I took advantage of) because their products are already WORTH the money. Ranging at $6 or a little more. The custom charge still makes the products worth the money, whereas for myself personally Kylie’s didn’t.
*Disclaimer - As mentioned in the post I am not bashing her products or company just the unfairness of living in the UK which puts us in this spot.
I’d like to know what you think! Would you invest in the lip kits?
Let me know!
