I thought it would be fun to share a handful of the queer media that has inspired me as a storyteller, and specifically inspired me while worldbuilding for my Handryn Empire D&D campaigns. More under the cut!

First and foremost is The Last Herald-Mage series by Mercedes Lackey. I grew up reading Lackey, and the Last Herald-Mage was a particularly formative experience. Vanyel my beloved 😭

More recently is, of course, The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Gideon and Harrow fundamentally altered my brain chemistry

I also grew up watching Star Trek, which has been pushing the boundaries when it comes to romantic norms since 1968; as such, I would personally count this as queer media

And last but certainly not least, who could forget Steven Universe? I feel like this one honestly almost goes without saying

Our home D&D game is in its final arc, or Book 3 as we've been calling it! And as I've done for every other Book, I made a new playlist for my Necromancy Wizard and new playlist cover art! I actually made two versions for Book 3 lol, "Can You Find Me" which visually I think works better as a continuation from the other two and continues the inclusion of Gaz's brother, Pacho c:

The second/Alt. Cover, "Can You Feel The Sun", is a stronger nod to what might be Gaz's ending, which is becoming a Lich! It's a big ol visual metaphor for what their Phylactery would likely be. Still not sure if Gaz will go through with that, really depends if the group can figure out a way to truly kill the bbeg, cause right now we don't have a solid solution 😬 we'll see! :D I'm excited either way!

For the end of 'Book 2' in the campaign my husband runs, I wanted to put together some art showing each PC and their narrative foil!

As we've played through the campaign, it's become clearer that each foil is easily who the PC could have become if circumstances were a little different/if they hadn't met each other and become friends/family

Front Porching

My friends and I have a tradition we call "Front Porching", which is intended to virtually simulate hanging out on a literal front porch and just hanging out with the people in your community that happen past. No strings attached, no specific activity, come and go as you please. Just hop on a Discord voice channel and vibe

Anyway I highly recommend this to anyone with virtual friends

Recently re-discovered the original version of the Handryn Empire map that I created by tossing a bunch of dice onto a piece of paper, tracing around them, and jotting down randomized biomes based on the face of each die
