English Deutsch Only 20 years old but experts already: The Capitols were founded at the Maximiliansgymnasium Schwabing in 2011, since 2014 the four, young musicians are working professionally. By now the group, centred on the charismatic frontman Matija Kovac, counts as one of the most talented young hopes of Bavaria. They have played successful concerts in London, Wien, Hamburg and Berlin as well as supported well-known bands like Wanda, Kensington, The 1975 and Catfish And The Bottlemen. Throughout the last year The Capitols have rocked more than a dozen festivals and gained an enthusiastic fan-base. The bands’ musical range is impressive: They combine impulsive alternative/indie rock and infectious hooks with tried-and-tested blues rock and fascinating trips on the baroque recorder. Who does things like that has to be crazy – or very, very gifted! Long ago others recognised this, the press therefore praises „psychedelische Kaskaden auf der Blockflöte / psychedelic cascades on the recorder“ and „zackig auf den Punkt getakteten Indierock / snappy on-the-point timed Indie rock“ (Süddeutsche Zeitung). At their concerts, The Capitols bring the atmosphere alternately in thoughtful melancholy and cheering euphoria – emotional depth meets dance-mood; singing-orgies in the audience are routine. On the 6th of March 2015 The Capitols released their debut Single “Wake Up”. Six months later, on 19th of September 2015, they released their debut EP "Mexico". Line-Up Matt Kovac – Vocals/Flute/Guitar Jan Salgovic – Guitar/(Electric) Piano Johann Blake – Bass/Vocals/Piano Sami Salman – Drums/Percussion Sie sind gerade erst 20 Jahre alt – und doch schon alte Hasen: Gegründet wurden The Capitols 2011 am Münchener Maximilian-Gymnasium, seit dem Abitur 2013 arbeiten die vier Musiker professionell. Inzwischen gilt die Formation um den charismatischen Frontmann Matt Kovac als eine der talentiertesten Nachwuchshoffnungen in Bayern. Sie hat erfolgreiche Konzerte in London, Wien, Hamburg und Berlin hinter sich und renommierte Acts wie Wanda, Kensington, The 1975 und Catfish And The Bottlemen auf deren Tourneen supportet. Im abgelaufenen Jahr haben The Capitols mehr als ein Dutzend Festivals gerockt und sich eine enthusiastische Fangemeinde erspielt. Ihr musikalisches Spektrum ist dabei beeindruckend: Die Band kombiniert impulsiven Alternative/Indie Rock und infektiöse Hooks mit altbewährtem Bluesrock und faszinierenden Ausflügen auf der barocken Blockflöte. Wer sowas macht, muss verrückt sein – oder sehr, sehr begabt! Längst haben das auch andere registriert, so lobt die Presse „psychedelische Kaskaden auf der Blockflöte“ und „zackig auf den Punkt getakteten Indierock“ (Süddeutsche Zeitung). Bei ihren Konzerten tauchen The Capitols die Stimmung abwechselnd in nachdenkliche Melancholie und jubelnde Euphorie – emotionale Tiefe trifft dabei auf Tanzlaune, Gesangsorgien im Publikum gehören zur Tagesordnung. Am 6. März 2015 haben The Capitols ihre Debütsingle "Wake Up" veröffentlicht. Sechs Monate später, am 19. September 2015, folgte die erste EP "Mexico".
