the summer is for having the worst time of your life
i miss doing a hundred billion lines of this every day
It's been like 8 months mind you andā¦
the season 5 script for will's coming out scene: "it hurt... so much"
I donāt really care what the Duffers have to say, but Iād be lying if I said it doesnāt annoy tf out me all over again every time shit like this comes out. I know I have the power to control these emotions in a sense and though I have distanced myself from the show since itās been 7 months...itās hard to not feel those emotions flood back.
We get these scripts released (which only happened because of Scriptgate, mind you), and it feels like we keep getting spat in the face. We are literally made to sympathize with Will yet there's no payoff for his pain. And that's not to take away from other characters rights or whatever. I know what happened with Will was/is the reality for a lot of people, but we have seen that on screen so many times. Iām tired of being made to feel like queer people are asking for too much when it comes to seeing a happy story. Especially one that isnāt explicitly promoted as a queer love story because Stranger Things couldāve reached so many people due to that and been different from many other queer love stories. The fact weāre called delusional, are mocked, made to look like fools, and constantly told we imagined everything when there are mountains of evidence that that's not the case. We saw different depth and care to a story that mattered to us but the show did not meet that. And maybe it's my fault for getting my hopes up but the writers also made many false promises to fans. Maybe they weren't false at a point in time but we'll never know now.
Like donāt get me wrong, I know the Byler fandom isnāt perfect, and even though I donāt like the Duffers, I still try to be fair about certain things, but the way they sabotaged their own characters and story- especially Mike (s1-2 Mike was fr never seen again. That was OUR Mike)...omg I can't accept it. I give them credit for the vibes but I won't lie, I'm confused what else to credit them on unless it is brought up. Why? Because it all either ended up meaning nothing or other people they worked with/ for them are to credit.
We could've had it all but this is our reality š.
the kind of candid shot their friends take of mike & will before theyāre even actually together
What if we shared an indirect kiss while I promised we were best friends on top of a radio tower over looking the creepy horror dimension u almost died in?

That's my son I gave birth to him š
giving us that film reel was giving chocolate to a dog before it was put down
Argyle saving their ass in season 4 by having the solution to where El can use a bath with salt only to be completely discarded in season 5 as if he never existed... Awesome way to ragebait me personally
Argyle was THAT guy and the duffs randomly disposing of him was bogus. Instead of introducing 50 new characters in S5 they should have just kept some characters they already introduced over the seasons but nah. They either killed these characters off or acted like they never existed which is why it's crazy to me they had such a big cast for S5 to the point that that they said they should have "killed off" some of them. But that may be because I'm blocking things out. āļø
GUYS????
OMG š idk who all saw my last post- I deleted it fast, but I'm kind of catching up on some fandom discourse since I don't come here super often like I used to.
I usually try and avoid any discussions on the "gay bar Will" topic personally because, for one, I'm not a gay man. Even though I wanted a different ending for Will (not saying that from a place of villainizing gay bars or sex) I know this topic is very sensitive and can be very personal for people, so I donāt want to speak over anyone or say something insensitive. I never want to hurt anyone.
One thing to know about me for certain is that I do not like the duffers. I do have some more nuanced opinions about them and agree with some of the more nuanced opinions about them, but you will find find me criticizing them more often than not.
Just to be clear, when I saw this particular post, I was simply agreeing that Mike and Will were tied together till the very end of the show and that they made Mike Will's focus (no matter how much the writers try to claim otherwise) when they could have shown Will expressing his sexuality in ways that didnāt just revolve around Mike, but they didnāt. Thatās why a random kind-of-not-really āloveā interest didnāt work for me. I think Will, Noah, and the LGBTQ audience watching deserved better. And it hurts we didnāt get that- but we proceed.
thank GOD.
Byler, man. FUCK my life.
So true š
