My girl Annabeth is gonna kick your ass
OOC; I know I still owe replies. I will get to them as soon as possible. I’m sorry for the delay guys!
Kate moved to sit on his bed, propping him up while rubbing his back. An act she had done many times with Diana, luckily Nico did not seem to be coughing up blood nor did he seem to be choking on vomit. Hearing what Annabeth said, Kate pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head. She knew exactly what she was talking about. Her mother as well as Henry had done similar things, even she had. Though for them to end up as warn out and sick as Nico was rare. Hearing a son of Apollo was caring for him put her worries to ease a touch. She had seen what Theo is capable of. She just hoped for Nico’s sake, Will could come up with far better haiku’s than his father could. “I suspect so. You are just like your father in that department, Nico.” She remarked, wondering what other qualities they shared. Only time would tell. “Get some rest then and behave for Will.” It was all she had been able to say before he fell asleep. She kissed his forehead before getting up, making sure to rearrange the blankets so he would be kept warm. Kate straightened up, watching the blonde boy enter the cabin. So, this was Will? He looked as if he needed some rest as well. She stepped back over to Annabeth’s side, allowing him to check on Nico. With one final glance at the slumbering boy, she followed Annabeth outside, shielding her eyes from the sunlight. Waving her hand, she created a pair of sunglasses. A little trick she had just mastered. Placing them on, she turned to her camp tour guide. “I hope so or I’ll have Henry bring him down so I can look after him.” She crossed her arms over her chest, “He lied to me and he knows full well how I feel about being lied too.” One little scolding for him lying would ease her anger fully. “Who are the people that run this camp again?” Kate questioned, feeling like an idiot for forgetting.
Ω - Annabeth could hardly be surprised for her anger. However he was a rather touchy god. Annabeth felt it wise to at least give her some warning on the matter. When asked who the camp directors were she smiled. “Mr D...he’s camp director. He was sent here by his father for chasing after an off limit wood nymph.” She told Kate. She did not like Dionysus very much but he was good enough to keep them going. To calm them during battle. “Our activities director is Chiron. I trust Chiron with my life.” Annabeth told Kate. The centaur was like a father to her. She wouldn’t dare to speak against him. She looked at Kate. “You must have met Mr D at least once.” She commented. Well during the solstice in particular. She looked around her. “Well, I think the Big House is the first place I’ll show you.” Annabeth told Kate softly.
Annabeth looked at the cabins and winced at the Apollo cabin. It was so bright. She supposed being a son or daughter of Apollo rendered that point moot. She looked at the demigods who were all going to some activity or other. “It’s nice here. I used to stay year round but I go home sometimes.” Annabeth told Kate. She went home when she wanted to see her father or Magnus. Otherwise she remained here and taught Greek to the younger demigods. “Do you have any children?” She asked. She knew they could come here if they wanted. She was about to speak when Clarisse barged past after a camper.
Annabeth wanted to say something but felt it better not to. Clarisse could be very nasty when she wanted to. It was best to leave her be. “If you can don’t upset Clarisse. She’s a daughter of Ares and sometimes she can be vicious.” She told Kate. She led Kate to the house where Chiron and Mr D were playing a card game with one another. Mr D had his usual can of coke rather than wine and looked miffed. “Chiron, Mr D...this is Kate.” She introduced. Mr D looked at her and then gave a snort. “So your the one Corpse Breath fell for. I admire his taste.” He muttered. He was often absent minded and didn’t recall Kate. “Annabell you’re distracting me. Go on scat.” Dionysus snapped.
Wirth a quick smile to Chiron Annabeth led Kate into the house. “Mr D sleeps upstairs. Chiron’s room is just there. The med bay is there. Argus sleeps just beyond it.” She said. She began to walk towards the med bay. More often than not a child of Apollo would be on duty if not Argus. “We used to have the oracle upstairs but she’s been properly housed now.” Annabeth told her. Rachel Dare was the oracle of Delphi.

The tall man looked at Annabeth and rolled his one good eye. “Zeus is a god unworthy to have the title to be ruler of the sky. He may be the god of justice, order and thunder but the sky is not his domain.” He knew the clouds are forming already and the god did not seem to fear it. “I find a god uncapable of flight to be worthy as ruler of the sky, the rest he can keep.” His voice was low and demanding yet calm and assertive.. “I am sure that if he wants to pick a fight, he would not be as weak to ask his brothers for help for a job he can do himself.” A battle of the gods was between 2 gods, nothing more.. nothing less.
Walking closer, the strength with each step he took was shown before kneeling down in front of the formation. “I am looking for multiple things.. a quest I may need help with. However I will not discuss it when somebody..” He glanced up. “Is eavesdropping on me. What happens in Egypt is the business of Egypt, not the Greeks.” Getting back up, he looked at Mr D and Chiron. “Chiron… indeed it has been a while, I come with grim news…” Walking past the group, he glanced once more at Annabeth before turning back to the male. “My father has been murdered and his bodypieces has been spread. I fear Set might have hidden one part around here..”
Looking around, he noticed a flash and grumbled, looking back up. “Ya got something big guy? Want to fight it out? How about we settle this some other time Zeus…” Looking back at Chiron. “Listen.. I need help searching. I am missing my eye, my father is cut and Set is trying to get control of the kingdom. If he succeeds, he will bring chaos to every world, no matter what gods.. I need wisdom and navigation.” He could not do this alone. “Isis and Nephthys are guarding the tomb as we speak, Hathor is trying to keep Set at bay..”
Ω - Chiron listened with a frown on his face. He didn’t like this. He knew that Set had tired to rise a while back. However he had been pushed back. How this had happened he wasn’t sure. “This is indeed troubling. Though I find it quite amusing too.” Dionysus spoke. The demigods around gasped in shock. However Annabeth knew that Mr D wouldn’t take anyone coming onto his turf. That was mostly so he didn’t have to stay here much longer than he had to. Chiron glared at the camp director. “Mr D, why don’t you go take a nap.” The centaur spoke bluntly. The god shrugged but didn’t make any move to leave. Chiron then looked at the demigods gathered. “You wish for wisdom then speak to Annabeth. She is the daughter of Athena. I’ll have the Satyr’s comb the woods with the Demeter Cabin.” He told Horus.
Annabeth stepped forward and then looked at the other campers. They were clearly nervous about this. “I don’t think he’d be foolish enough to hide it here. From what Sadie, Carter and Amos Kane told me Set is too clever for that.” Annabeth muttered. She began to pace back and forth. Her mind was going ten to the dozen. Percy watched bemused. Chiron however watched with a keen eye. Annabeth was the best they had when it came to strategy. “No...he would hide it here. He wants you to go toe to toe with Zeus. You take down Zeus the Olympians are then drawn into war with you..” She spoke. Her mind was still whirring trying to come up with a plan. “You would be delayed or killed. Set wears down Hathor, Nephthys and Isis. Then what? He takes control...” She looked stumped for a moment.
Set got the world but to what end? The Olympians or those who remained would fight. Then Asgard would be drawn into fight purely because they had to restore order and not chaos. The plan was messy. “Why don’t we go to camp where we can talk more mmh?” Chiron asked. Annabeth suddenly stopped. “Who’s watching Apophis? Are you sure he’s not influencing Set?” She asked Horus. Above the storm thundered. It was more aimed at the bringer of chaos Apophis rather than Horus.
There was a camp for Roman demigods as well? Perhaps she would visit this camp later so she could meet her stepdaughter. Hearing that Henry had a cabin here at the camp made her smile, from stories she heard, he was usually left out due to him resigning in the Underworld and not being on Olympus. She glanced around at the other cabins, amused by the fact she could tell whom the cabins belonged too better and quicker than she had been able to figure out whom the gods and goddesses were by their modernized names. Pulling herself from her thoughts, Kate followed Annabeth towards the pitch black cabin. It currently did fit the Lord of the Dead. The brunette followed her in, barely noticing the boy under the blankets until he spoke up. Upon hearing that he was not doing well, she went to his side, kneeling down to the bed’s level. He looked so much like his father, she couldn’t help the smile that came to her lips. She placed a gentle hand on his forehead to check to see if he had a temperature. His forehead was slightly warm. “What happened to you?” She asked, honest concern in her voice for her stepson. “Did someone hurt you? Are you sick? Do you want me to get you some soup? On second thought;” Kate turned to Annabeth, “You tell me what’s going on with him. I don’t wish for him to tire himself out more by explaining. Also, thank you for telling me about him.” As she waited for Annabeth’s reply, she ran her hand through Nico’s jet black hair oblivious to the fact she was mothering him. A fact she wouldn’t have cared about very much if she knew. Her focus was squarely focused on seeing that he got better.
Ω - Annabeth heard the questions and Nico didn’t answer. He had fallen into a coughing fit. Annabeth looked at Kate and then gave a soft sigh. “Well, Nico kind of used more power than he should. It’s drained him. When he even uses an inch of power it makes him like that.” She told Kate. She did smile at the thanks. She was sure that Nico would appreciate a bit of mothering. He seemed to relax when Kate ran a hand through his hair. “Will Solace, a son of Apollo is looking after him. Giving him what he needs.” She told Kate. Right now Will was helping someone else. He could do nothing for Nico while he was resting up. there was no point in that. “He tries but I’m not a good patient.” Nico said. His voice was quiet. Annabeth snorted at the comment.
Nico really didn’t do well being kept in bed. He liked to be up helping but sometimes he needed to rest like now. “He just needs some rest. Once he’s better he can use his powers but not before.” Annabeth told Kate. Her grey eyes were focused on Nico was now dropping to sleep. It would do him good. As long as he didn’t have a nightmare. Thankfully Will had come into the cabin. His appearance was dishevelled. It was obvious he was worn out himself. The look he gave Nico was enough to melt butter. “I’ll show you around. We’ll come back when Will has looked at Nico.” Annabeth told Kate. She opened the door for her. The sunlight outside made everything cheerful.
Annabeth looked towards her Cabin. Most of her sibllings would currently be in the arena with the Ares children. She looked at the Tyche cabin. It looked like any casino in Vagas. However it made Annabeth shuddered. It made her think of the Lotus Casino and Hotel. She looked at Kate. “I can show you anything you’d like. Don’t worry about Nico. He’ll be okay.” She told Kate with a smile. She was confident that he would get better. There was nothing to say he wouldn’t. “When I get you back to Hades don’t be too mad at him.” She told her. Hades had a hard enough time as it was.
He seemed to be more peaceable now Kate had stepped in. She had not noticed that until recently. Annabeth looked around her. The camp was a bustle of activity. Pollux was walking the strawberries and making them grow. The children of Demeter were taking care of the small garden area. It was peaceful. Annabeth hoped it remained that way.
Immediately Percy pouted. Him, hurt? Yeah that was a possibility. Although he was confident in the fact that Tyson would never give him anything horribly lethal. He hoped. After all, what were half brothers for? Though his witty comeback was cut short at the sudden request of exam results. Lying wasn’t an option, she’d find out instantly. But he hadn’t much of an answer to give. Thus, he was thankful for Grover’s appearance. He watched the conversation between the two silently, trying to get his thoughts in some sort of an order. The thing was, he knew he’d do well if he had studied more. Yet here he was on the beach, relaxing. But with all that ailed him, he was positive a pass was in order. Now, however, he had to give his results to a crow of two, both eyes seeming to find him. With a grunt he averted his gaze awkwardly to the sea and tried for a shrug. “I’ll pass. Results aren’t out until next week, but.. I studied, honest. Jason said he could help get me into college in New Rome.. the two of us were Paetor, that’s got to count for something, right?” He sure hoped so.
Ω - Annabeth looked at him critically and then smiled at him. “It’ll be fine. You’ll get in no trouble. I’ll make sure of it.” She told him. As foolish as it sounded she did not want to go if Percy wasn’t with her. She would make sure that he did okay. She looked at him and then gave another smile. “Don’t worry.” She told him. She then glanced around her. Things were so peaceful here. She hoped that it would remain that way but something big was stirring. That was the thing that Annabeth didn’t like very much.
Her grey eyes drew away from Percy and then focused on the horizon. Things seemed peaceful weather wise too. She rolled her shoulders and then decided to turn conversation to something much more lighter. “Did I tell you my dad is thinking of coming to New York. He wants to get some work here. Besides I think he likes it in New York.” She told Percy. He had wanted to move to Boston but Annabeth had refused. She told him New York was safer. Well as much as it could be right now.
She relaxed her posture. “How is Sally and Paul by the way?” She asked him. It had been a long time since she had seen Sally and Paul. Annabeth had to admit she liked Sally. Sally also thought Annabeth was a level headed young demigod. Someone who was supposed to be a good influence on her son.
@yourlordoftheskies
Horus was absolute confused, where was Thoth when you need that stupid brain of his. His ego was unbearable but at least he was smart. Sighing, he kept walking until he heard the laughter of children. So he was close to civilization. The god of the skies slowly made his way towards the source of the sound when he spotted the group of children in front of him.
Tight in formation, a tactic he had seen among the Romans and Greek warriors as his eye began to focus on every single one of them in the group. There was no evil around then and yet they were not mortal at all. When the girl spoke, he smirked and walked closer. Have they never seen a god before? What happened to the times while he was asleep? Were the fighters of these days kids?
Kneeling down to get at their level, Horus spoke in a commanding yet gentle voice. “I am Horus, lord of the sky and god of Egypt. I mean you no harm little ones.” Even though he missed one eye, his gaze was sharp, like a falcon. “I am merely requesting refreshments and a place to rest before I go my way to find what is mine…”
Ω - Annabeth heard the name and her eyes widened. Horus was an Egyptian god. She remembered Sadie telling her that Horus had spent some time sharing a concious with her brother Cater Kane. Beside her Percy and Clarisse were grumbling under their breaths. “Zeus is Lord of the Sky. He will not take kindly to a usurper. I’m sure even his brother’s would fight for him to keep the domain he’s been given.” Annabeth told him. She knew she was pushing but she didn’t want Zeus angry at her or anyone else.
She looked at her friends who were nervous of the god. “What is it you’re looking for? I know some Egyptian Magicians. They didn’t mention anything.” Annabeth told him. She would help him if she could but when it came to her family she would not betray them. She would keep them safe as much as she could. Her stormy grey eyes were still fixed on him. “I’ll ask Mr D if we can find you somewhere to rest and some food.” She told him. She supposed that Horus would not cross Dionysus. Not unless he wanted to become crazy.
Annabeth did not break formation. Above them the cloud rumbled with thunder. Zeus was not happy. Not one bit. The smell of fresh grapes alerted the children that Mr D was here. Beside him was Chiron. “Horus, long time no see. Did you lose your eye to Khonsu again?” He asked blandly. His power was making the children clam. Annabeth was grateful for her uncle.
❝I’m OLDER than any of them, kid. I’ve been here for a LONG time, they’re children compared to me.❞
Which wasn’t a lie, he had indeed been present for almost the entire expanse of Earth’s history, whereas these particular deities had been around only RECENTLY. They’d not seen the rise of multi-celled organisms and the evolution of man, they’d just taken up residence as if they’d always been there. Not the first time that had happened, nor was it the last and he was almost certain it’d occur again in the future. It just seemed to be the normal BORINGcycle of humanity.
❝As for PRICE, well.. Right now I’m not looking for anything from you but you could owe me a little favor in the future, nothing big, just passing messages for me or giving me some information on SOMETHING..❞
He’d not go into detail for now because, honestly, he wasn’t sure just how useful the girl would be to him anyway. That wouldn’t dissuade him from making a deal, though, especially since this particular kid was a daughter of a deity. Perhaps he’d get a hold over mommy ordaddy if he had the girl in his grasp, at his mercy. That was a nice thought.
❝So, what do you say, kid?❞
Ω - At the comment of the price the illusion was shattered for Annabeth. She was no spy and certainly no delivery girl. She scowled at the triangle. “Well, I’m sorry. I’m saying no. I’m no spy least of all when it comes to my family.” She told him. She was rather angry. She didn’t like the idea of doing that to her friends and family. She may not always like the Gods but she would never turn her back on them like Luke had done. He had turned his back on the Gods but he had paid the ultimate price. “I would rather earn what I needed myself rather than put my trust in a dream creature.” She told him. Her eyes narrowed. She had no idea what he would do to her now. It was the last thing on her mind. She wanted to wake up but she didn’t feel any closer to waking.
She felt like she was going to have some trouble. She wished that her mother was here or even Mr D. He would know what to do. He always did. She looked around her. She felt a little tense. She wished that her weapons worked. She would have finished him long before now. She crossed her arms over chest and then glared at the triangle. “You should go, no one like me will agree to to help you. There’s something off about you. You’re crazier than Mr D.” She told him. She didn’t mind mentioning the camp director. He was the one who created madness and could cure it. He was a dangerous god in his own right.
Frisk simply smiled. “They live here, some moved to other cities, but they all stay close to the mountain.” It was sad that she thought the monsters wouldn’t like her. “I’ve never heard of other monsters, but these ones are really nice. I’m sure they’d like you.”
Ω - Annabeth looked at the child and then gave a soft nod. However she was still nervous. She didn’t want to be attacked by a monster. Least of all anything that was remotely like a spider. “Maybe I should meet a few with you? I’d feel a lot safer with you with me.” Annabeth told the child. She didn’t feel ashamed of having to admit that. It was simply the truth. If the child felt they were safe she would have to trust the child was right.
She was the first out of eleven girls to survive and not die in some horrible way. If it was not for Diana giving up her mortal life to allow Kate to live, she would have stayed dead. A fact that still sends a chill down her spine. Upon hearing those three words, ‘Son of Hades’; Kate’s smile faded. Henry had told her he had no children. He lied to her. Hearing he had a daughter as well, only made her blood boil more.
“He has other children?” She asked, hoping her voice did not show her annoyance towards her husband. Kate knew she could not hold any grudge against the two children since they were most likely born well before he met Kate; but that did not excuse him from lying to her about the not so little fact.
Kate mounted the Pegasi with Annabeth, seeing as she trusted her more than Percy, despite just meeting them both. The entire flight to Camp Half-Blood, Kate wrote a speech out in her mind as to what she was going to say to Henry when she saw him as well as not to let him get in a word until she was done chewing him out for lying to her. He knew she loathed being lied too.
When they landed, Kate momentarily forgot about her anger as she glanced around the camp from where they had landed. It was breath-taking. She watched the campers alongside Annabeth before asking;
“Are Nico and Hazel here? I would like to meet them.”
Ω - Annabeth heard the question and then sighed softly. She knew that Hazel was at Camp Jupiter. Nico however she wasn’t sure. He often went where he wanted to. For all she knew he would be with Hazel. “Nico is here sometimes here. I think he might be. Hazel isn’t. She’s at the camp for the Romans.” She told Kate. She felt bad for the woman but she simply didn’t understand what Hades had gone through. What the gods were like. She didn’t feel like explaining it though. Hades would have to explain himself. “I can take you to his cabin. He’s usually in there.” She told Kate.
She didn’t dare mentioned Bianca now. Of course Kate would never meet Hades’ youngest daughter. She had been killed during a quest. Percy had taken the Pegasi to the stable leaving Annabeth with Kate. Not that Annabeth minded that much. She preferred to explain things as Percy often could and would go off on a tangent. “Some of the cabins here are newly built.” She told Kate. She felt slightly proud. She had helped design some.
Annabeth then came to a cabin that was pitch black. Green flames licked the scones by the doors. Annabeth knocked on the door. “Nico, are you in here?” She asked quietly. The reply was muffled but enough for Annabeth. She went in and saw Nico resting on the bed. He looked exhausted and he was so that his body was mostly under the covers. “Still feeling under the weather?” Annabeth asked. He nodded glumly. “Nico, this is Kate. You’re dad’s queen. She wanted to meet you.” She told him.
She had the urge to mother him. He looked like he was ready to drop the floor. Using his powers caused a serious drain on him now. “Hello, I’m Nico Di Angelo. I’d get up but I’m not doing too good.” He muttered. He had been ordered by Will Solace to stay in bed. The boy in question was healing a daughter of Tyche who’d fallen off a horse. “I’ll show you around when you’re done talking.” She told Kate. Nico gave a faint smile. He could see why his father would go for someone like her. However he waited for her to speak.
Percy-proof was essentially demigod material in one way or another. Or magician in Carter’s case. Either way they were tough and could usually handle the gods and monsters that came crashing down the moment he stepped foot outside camp. There was still something about a child of the big three that shook the world. “Hey! I wouldn’t get bor— pinky promise on the jelly beans.” With that he held up his hand with a goofy smile playing on his features. Bored really wasn’t the world. More he’d get so anxious he’d burst the nearest water system. It happened lately with school stress, although it was good news for everyone since the pipes were usually quite old, rusted and in need of changing. Happiness all around. “Not in awhile.” Least he was honest, because he could have eased her worries with ‘oh yeah, saw him last week’. But honestly, he was missing his brother. Being alone in the cabin wasn’t as fun as it sounded, especially not with the statue on Poseidon looming down like a stark reminder that he was the only one to occupy cabin three. “He’s fine though, sent a few.. friends to keep in touch. Said something about making a ton of new weapons that he’ll let the camp have when they’re not in prototype-mode. He wanted to send them sooner but.. I think we can injure ourselves fine without prototypes.” He added with a weak laugh. There was something about her expression, an easy read after all the years they’d fought side by side, that told him everything. Something was about to happen, something big, only he didn’t want to pressure her into telling him. In fact, he hoped she kept it until the group had met up. Telling a story once was traumatic enough, repeating it never helped.
Ω - Annabeth heard what Percy said about Tyson getting them set up with new weapons. She did laugh at the comment about getting injured. “You mean you would get hurt seaweed brain?” She joked. Her expression was becoming less serious as she relaxed around Percy. No matter what the situation was Percy made her feel so much better. She kept her grey eyes focused on him. Her mouth was curved into a small smile. “At least we know Tyson’s okay.” She said to him. She began to look up at the sky. As usual the clouds came skimming past. Some of the dark grey clouds cleared the valley completely. She felt normal here. Things had been crazy while she had been in Boston.
She was glad to see Magnus again but since she had seen him strange dreams plagued her. Whatever Loki or any other god was planning it was bringing everyone close together and that should never have been the case. “We should think about going to New Rome soon. How did your midterms go?” She asked. She had been so busy she had only now found the time to talk to Percy about this. She had not even had chance to contact Thalia in some time. She would have to do that soon enough.
She glanced around when she heard steps around her. It was Grover. He looked tired but happy at the same time. Annabeth gripped Percy’s hand and gave it a squeeze. She needed to do it. She needed his comfort. “You look tired goat boy.” She told him. Grover grinned “Yeah, I’ve tracked down a rather powerful son of Ares. He’s with Clarisse now.” He told them. Annabeth frowned. Most children of Ares were tough. She said nothing though.
Her attention was Percy wanted to hear how his exams had gone. She looked at Grover who was happy to sit with them now. He had started to get a lot bigger. Like a proper Satyr. He was still the sweetest though.
It took a moment for Frisk to answer, trying to think of the best way to explain. “Well, there used to be monsters sealed inside of it.” They stated as they walked a few steps ahead of her. “They aren’t anymore, the seal was broken and now they live up here with us like they used to.”
Ω - Annabeth heard the word monster and flinched. Historically demigods had no good relationship with monsters. Her grey eyes were focused on the child before her. The child seemed not to be nervous. “Where do they live now? Here or somewhere else? Monsters don’t like me.” Annabeth put simply. There was no need to overcomplicate things for the small one.
