I’ve been seeing your friends a lot lately, and I’m happy to have finally seen you up close since June. Happy new year, TDA!

I am predominantly calm and reasonable. I don’t usually give a tit for tat when the person I’m having an argument with does not comprehend or choose not to understand what I’m saying. I would typically just close my mouth and walk away. But now, I consider resorting into violence. If anyone would still blabber and run their mouth after I kept mine shut, I would punch them right in the face without warning.

I’m glad to have seen you again. I always checkout that Korean BBQ joint every time I walk down that road from BGC to talipapa because that place has a special place in my heart. You, from what I have make out of it, were with Mekwa. You were wearing a maroon shirt, if I’m not mistaken, that’s the Enderun campus shirt that I’ve also seen Jopay wore on several occasions. I’m happy to see you smile again even if I’m only seeing it from afar. I thank the heavens (even if it was raining) to have witnessed that shining beam that radiates off your face once more. 🫂

People who really know me are aware that I prefer British artists over American ‘performers’ (in general) because the former have 1.) better vocals 2.) their songs speak to you in every way possible 3.) and they create heartfelt and meaningful music. Adele, Ed Sheeran, Spice Girls, Dua Lipa, Queen, Little Mix, One Direction, Coldplay, etc.

Learning that Coldplay is having a collaboration with the (current) world’s best band, BTS, made me ecstatic from the day the teasers were uploaded on TikTok. I have become a fan of BTS after seeing them at The Late Late Show’s Carpool Karaoke episode early last year. I watched the segment they were in just to check if they are worthy of overthrowing Adele’s viewership on the same show. I fell in love with the group when I’ve heard them sing. I’ve then realized that they can actually sing. Not only are they a group of people with good looks, they also perform incredible dance choreograpy. And this was during their ON era. I have become an accidental ARMY ever since. I’m no longer questioning why they have a huge following. HAHAHA!

I’ve made decisions in the past that greatly affected my mental health and made me ask my entire existence, but BTS and their songs (Life Goes On among others) helped me keep my sanity. For now, these guys are My Universe.

The USA Women’s National Volleyball Team snatched their first gold against the powerhouse Brazil in the women’s volleyball at the Olympics. Yay! The legends Foluke Akinradewo and Jordan Larson completed the Olympic medal set before their retirement — (🥈 in London 2012), (🥉in Rio 2016) and (🥇in Tokyo 2020) . Good job, ladies!

USA Women’s National Volleyball Team finished the semifinals at the Olympics on a commanding sweep at the expense of Serbia (25-19, 25-15, 25-23).

China and Serbia were the last teams that competed for Gold at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. This time around, having improved their standing in the world’s ranking, USA is positioned to get their first gold in Women’s Volleyball at Tokyo 2020.

They’re now just waiting for the result of the match up between Brazil and Korea later tonight. Will it be a rematch of the London 2012 Finals and VNL 2021 (Rimini) where they faced the gritty and talented Brazilian team, or will Korea, which is headed by their team captain, Kim Yeon Koung (KYK), prevail and make history as they potentially get their first finals apperance at the Summer Olympics?

What’s not to love about this guy? I’ve been a fan of Micah Christenson 11 (and Matt Anderson 1) since 2015. Micah is one the best, if not the best, setters of our generation. Their last game against Argentina was gut-wrenching because you can see he’s really giving it all, the team just fell short. I will continue to support you and Team USA, always. I love you, Micah!

Apart from all the drama and being the injury-plagued that it has become, specifically in the women’s volleyball, at this edition of the Olympics, the fans are funny, too. HAHAHA! And I’m here for it. Yesterday, Brazil’s WVT eliminated ROC during the Quarter Finals. And today, on their Semifinals match, ROC MVT ended the hopes of Brazil MVT to defend their championship title from #Rio2016. The memes circulating online are hilarious. I don’t mind translating every word. HAHAHA! Here are some of the examples I found on the internet.

I feel sad for the athletes during the “Parade of Nations” because there is no crowd inside the stadium to cheer them on as they wave the flags of the countries they represent. Best of luck to all the teams competing in all the sporting events and kudos to Japan for pulling off this edition of the Olympics in the midst of a global pandemic.

DON'T ARGUE WITH DONKEYS (Fable)

The donkey said to the tiger:

- "The grass is blue".

The tiger replied:

- "No, the grass is green."

The discussion heated up, and the two decided to submit him to arbitration, and for this they went before the lion, the King of the Jungle.

Already before reaching the forest clearing, where the lion was sitting on his throne, the donkey began to shout:

- "His Highness, is it true that the grass is blue?".

The lion replied:

- "True, the grass is blue."

The donkey hurried and continued:

- "The tiger disagrees with me and contradicts and annoys me, please punish him."

The king then declared:

- "The tiger will be punished with 5 years of silence."

The donkey jumped cheerfully and went on his way, content and repeating:

- "The Grass Is Blue"...

The tiger accepted his punishment, but before he asked the lion:

- "Your Majesty, why have you punished me?, after all, the grass is green."

The lion replied:

- "In fact, the grass is green."

The tiger asked:

- "So why are you punishing me?".

The lion replied:

- "That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is not possible for a brave and intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with a donkey, and on top of that come and bother me with that question."

The worst waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who does not care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on arguments that don't make sense... There are people who, no matter how much evidence and evidence we present to them, are not in the capacity to understand, and others are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and all they want is to be right even if they are not.

When ignorance screams, intelligence is silent. Your peace and quiet are worth more.
