So, @sadie_reads_them_all was terribly cruel and said we had to pick just five favourite reads from 2016 π± and we know how hard it is to pick your most loved children π A day late with this one for #circleofbookishfriends but it's been that kind of week.... All of these are five star reviews on my Goodreads, come find me there to read more in depth ramblings! π Six of Crows - One of my weaknesses is an anti-hero and @lbardugo gave me Kaz Brekker π I loved this fantasy epic set in the world of the Grishaverse. Such fabulous dynamic between the characters, one of my very favourite things. π The Dream Thieves - it's no surprise to see this one here as you no doubt know if you follow my account. These boys π Cabeswater π All the *feels* π Isle of Winds @jamesfahyauthor - another sure fire choice, although I could easily have featured the sequel, Drowned Tomb. There aren't enough words for how good this series is. Erlking. The Netherworlde. Secrets and destinies. Friendships and foes. Shay, you get not only ponies, but unicorns for this π π The Graveyard Book - Bod stole my heart. His ghostly little family gave me fuzzy feelings. In the tradition of the best Grimm's fairy tales this is a dark and delicious tale, and so much more than a 'children's book.' π A Monster Calls - a book about courage and grief and hope. It's brave and beautiful, harrowing but yet lyrical. Such a fine line to make all these work. But it does.
