Hi, we're the Crazy Critter Crew! We're a collective of about 12! We are bodily an adult. We are accepting of all types of plurality, systems, and people with CDDs. Hope whoever is reading this has a lovely day!
We are a protogenic system of about 12. The name comes from our collective love for animals. Plus the fact we are pretty much all animals (assuming we include humans), with one robot (Gabriel, why did you have to mess up our pattern /silly).
We use I/we interchangeablely. We are agabless. We are also disabled in multiple ways. We dont have much of a collective identity, and would prefer you just use our individual pronouns (feel free to ask). If you are talking about us collectively, I guess &/&/&s/&s/&selves or they/them pronouns work.
We are still relatively new to tumblr, so bear with us. We will also try our best to make our account as accessible as possible, tho we are still figuring out how to properly do that. If we mess something up pls tell us so we may learn and fix it.
due to a fellow headmates ocd, we made a compromise and when using my god/gods pronoun set pls use lower case g
🐁🌌 Aster (she/they/star/aster)
🐢🌈 Cosmo (they/kit/kid/soft/fluffy/🌈)
🐻 Beaar (he/him)
I dont like labels, Don't put labels on me pls
🦭 Nav (she/her)
Now for the dreaded discourse
We hate discourse, it never goes anywhere and no one actually listens to the other side. Everyone just yells over each other usually. We also won't do a dni, feel free to just block us. We'll do the same.
• Staunchly (staunchly) anti-harrasment (it shouldn't need to be said, but sadly it does), dont care what "side" youre on, harassment is never okay
• Pro-endo/all plurals/systems/people with CDDs (We are more informed on plurality tho, pls correct us if we get anything wrong, always happy to learn)
there are many different kinds of beings and people within the vast plural community. systems are the most well known, but not everyone who is plural is a system. non-system plurals are most certainly just as plural as systems, and just as deserving of representation and celebration. you do not have to be a system to be plural, and that is wonderful.
plurality and gender can intersect in some interesting ways, such as with xenogenders and people who are transxenic. a normal and natural part of the lovely existence within this world, you are more than worthy of respect and dignity. your plurality and your gender matter, they really do.
being intersex is a natural and normal variation of life, and life as a whole is better off with intersexuality existing. love the intersex beings in your life, their experiences deserve to be celebrated and upheld. intersex experiences deserve to be heard, and intersex bodies are beautiful.
Divine headmate culture is that Im litteraly the best! No one does it like me! Everyone wishes they were me! Everyone wishes they knew me! Its just a fact, I decreed it!
EVILGENIC TERM!!! (go ahead and put this on pluralpedia if you want btw)
Evilgenic Flag:
Flag Meanings:
The bright coloring represent chaos and disorder, and the red represents potential impulsive thinking, the green represents that nobody can truly be considered fully evil and this is not a label meant to demean and bully people simply due to their "evilness". The yellow represents the ways that Evilgenic can be used, and can even potentially have new terms made and approved to be part of the official meaning.
Please keep in mind that I made this very quickly, and feel free to make another version and I might approve it :3.
Evilgenic types:
Type 1 - Formed from believing that you are evil and unworthy.
Type 2 - Formed from jealously of how amazing the tumblr blog evil-plural-culture-is. (this is partially a joke, I doubt anyone would form a system or headmate from this)
Type 3 - Formed from acting as if you were "evil" in front of others and they percieved you as cringe because of that and made fun of you, resulting in formation.
Type 4 - Formed from getting inspired by people who claim to be evil and willoing a headmate based off of being "evil".
it is absolutely, undoubtedly, possible to be plural while being nondisordered. there is no requirement to have any disorder to be plural. it is a form of real plurality, just like every other form of plurality out there.
every headmate is as equally deserving of autonomy. this is true regardless of what their innerworld form is like. this also does always apply regardless of what their role is, in tandem with how this is true regardless of what their innerworld form is. it is also entirely reasonable and rational to be upset about being excluded just on the basis of your roles, your innerworld form, and any combination of that.
Do you think it's possible to fake being plural even to yourself?
One or two genuine questions to you, anon, before I give my usual spiel on "I think I'm somehow faking it unconsciously and I think I should be ashamed because the fact that I can't stop faking it makes me morally bad":
What would it actually mean to fake plurality?
What does it mean to fake anything, in plain language (and ideally without moral weight attached)?
What makes a thing fake?
The usual spiel on secretly faking it:
First, if this is about you: try to turn it off for one week. Or a day, whichever feels better. All of it. I don't mean pretend that it doesn't exist, I mean stop doing it altogether. Just stop. Snap of the fingers, cold turkey, stop.
You are actively doing it, aren't you? Like, intentionally? You know you absolutely do not identify with the plural label or any plural experiences, that none of this has any possible application or interest to you, that plurality is completely and utterly irrelevant to your life... but you're putting in a large amount of intentional effort to appear as though you're plural for reasons that you don't understand whatsoever? Even if you really want to stop sometimes?
Why are you faking that instead of, I don't know, faking your way into a massive celebrity party or something? You must be talented, and this sounds like it would be exhausting to juggle. Compared to seeing the inside of a nuclear reactor or getting into a festival for free, this is pretty boring as far as pretending goes. Why keep it up? What are you gaining for all that work, especially when you'd be socially fucked if someone called it out?
It's not intentional? You keep trying to stop and you can't? It's not going away no matter how hard you try to change it?
You're probably not faking It. Sorry.
"fake", verb:
- tamper, with the purpose of deception (source)
- "counterfeit", to imitate or feign especially with intent to deceive (source, source)
- one does not fake without intent.
If someone is faking something, then by definition, they know. It's an active and intentional effort, something that they have to put energy and work into sustaining, something that's a relief to turn off. They can turn it off, and they know this because they are intentionally choosing to pretend to have an experience they do not actually, "objectively" have.
And here are the two important points:
Faking is an intentional act. If someone is faking something, then they know for absolute certain that they are faking something. Intent is required to fake something.
The concept of "fake" plurality relies on the idea of an objective state of the self/selves: some existential, absolute truth about whether someone is plural or not.
On point two:
We have no metrics to determine an absolute reality of the self for absolute certain. There are some physical characteristics that have been noticed in brain scans comparing DID systems against controls, but regardless of whether you believe in inherent differences in brain structure, most of us can't get a brain scan on a whim, and we don't have much of this kind of data yet for most other plural experiences. (Tulpamancy brain scan study when? Has that come out yet?)
We also have no idea why consciousness exists or where it's located, if anywhere. It's enough of a slippery issue for the concept of the philosophical zombie to exist: how do we know that anyone else is conscious? We don't. How do we know that plurality is an inherent or objective property of a body? We don't.
Do I believe that faking plurality is possible at all?
Sure. I think it could be done and I've seen it confessed to. I don't think that hunting for "fakes" or accusing strangers of faking their experiences is going to help anyone, though.
I do think sometimes that if someone were to fake this in the long run, then they would have to be very careful that none of it took on a life of its own. I've met a few accidental tulpamancers. It happens.
Do I think it's common to fake plurality?
No. It's a lot of effort for fairly little reward given that some people still think Split is basically a documentary.
Do I think that faking plurality can be done without knowing it?
No. A person might later find that another framework or explanation works better for them, but that doesn't mean they were secretly faking plurality. It means that they have an experience, and they found a different explanation for that experience that worked better for them. Good for them.
If given a bit of time and the ability to write the names down. Yes. Otherwise, no. Our system isnt terribly big, but I've also got the memory of a rock. Aster seems to have somewhat of an easier time at this tho. Makes sense, star is the mother of the system.
You talk about having built an irl plural/system community and doing advocacy for plurals and systems in your area. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to get into that. I would really like to do more for the plurals and systems where I am but I dont know where I would start (adding on that Im disabled and it can be harder to do things). So if you have any advice id love to hear it!
Thank you for any advice you may provide in advance!!! (Again, no pressure)
Hey no problem 😁 I just wish we had a more concise answer for you than we just kind of fell into it. We made the decision early on that we weren't going to be quiet about being a system. We talk about it extremely openly and because of that we've found ourselves in the midst of a fairly sizable community both online and off. Many of the opportunities we've gotten to community build have come to us by just being loudly ourselves and advocating for our own needs.
That being said I want to make it very clear that being open and loud about being a system/plural doesn't come without its risks. Especially as a disabled individual (we are also). We highly suggest systems/plurals do a very honest inventory for themselves of the possible risks and benefits of being more open about being a system. Shit can absolutely be dangerous and hard. But for us it's absolutely been worth it and we are so incredibly grateful we've lucked into situations where our openness has led to opportunities to build and support systems and plurals both in our community and abroad.
Hey, thanks for answering our question! We'll definitely keep this all in mind. We have wanted to be more open about our plurality.
At the moment the only people who know is our immediate family members. Which they have reacted well, I'll be it, they are still a bit confused but have been able to pick up on some of our switches.
try out the label for a bit, whether it’s with someone you’re close to or just yourself(ves). if you find out you’re plural, yay! if you find out you aren’t, no harm done!
letting myself& try calling ourselves plural is what helped us most during our syscovery. if we never worked up the courage to, we’d probably still be in a doubt spiral
it’s okay. you’re allowed to call yourself plural. you aren’t hurting anyone, even if you find out you aren’t.
there are many valid and genuine experiences within the wide and diverse range of plurality. with this, of course, comes the diversity of experiences when it comes to switching. some systems experience a lot of switching, other headmates never switch in or out of front. all of them are undoubtedly real and genuine experiences to be had within the spectrum of plurality.
