Reese Peanut Butter Bars!
Today I just wanted to share with you a recipe that I made. I came across it the other day on Pinterest & it looked too good to just pass up. It's Reese Peanut butter Bars. I love Reese Cups so I figured this had to be a good recipe. It was very simple, required minimal ingredients, and wasn't very time consuming at all. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all done. The best thing about these bars is that they are no bake. You just pop them in the fridge & wait 1 - 2 hours before cutting them into squares. If you want to know how to make these bars, keep reading ..
All you need to make these bars are:
1 Cup of melted butter
2 Cups of graham cracker crumbs
2 Cups of confectioners (icing) sugar
1 Cup, plus 4 tablespoons of peanut butter (i used smooth for better blending)
1 and a half Cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
This recipe asks for graham cracker crumbs, however I couldn't find any at the grocery store so I just bought graham crackers and crushed them myself. They need to be a fine powder, I compare the texture to sand. If you buy already crushed crackers then it will definitly cut your prep time in half.
The directions for this recipe are as follows:
1. In a medium bowl, mix together melted butter, graham crackers, confectioners sugar & 1 cup of peanut butter until well blended.
2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
3. In a metal bowl over a boiling pot of water (I just used the microwave), melt the chocolate chips with the 4 tablespoons of peanut butter, stirring occasionally until well blended. For this step, I found it works better to melt the chocolate chips & then add the peanut butter, the heat from the chocolate will melt the peanut butter.
4. Spread the chocolate mix over the peanut butter layer.
5. Refrigerate for atleast 1 hour before cutting into squares.
I hope you like this recipe, stay tuned for more to come!
Thanks for reading :]
Before they were refrigerated, will post a picture of the finished product soon! :]
