Luke: Would you really do something like that?
Luke: I mean, of course. I'd hope so
Cai: I don't know, would I? Would you sue me if I did?
Cai: I was kinda hoping that last time would be the last time I saw you actually :/

Luke closely followed Cailin inside the venue. It wasn’t jam packed with people but it wasn’t completely empty and lifeless, either. Making their way over towards the bar, he stopped in front of the blonde and shrugged lightly with a smirk forming on his face. “That’s the plan, yeah.” The downfall of only being twenty years old while in the States was not being able to legally buy alcohol; but luckily, Luke had a few friends that were passed the age requirement - Cailin being one of them. Thankfully it’s a different ballgame back in Australia since their drinking age is only eighteen. After sliding into one of the stools, he accepted whatever the model had ordered for their first round. The bartender made their drinks efficiently and slid them down to the duo. His fingers wrapped around the small glass and brought it into the air. “Cheers!” The musician exclaimed, trying to talk over the overly edited remixes of the songs the DJ was playing. Clinking the rims of their glasses together, Luke quickly downed the beverage, feeling the sweet liquid run down his throat, almost burning it. His face scrunched up as he slammed the now empty glass on the counter. Should they start a tab? Was this the right place to go to? Was this something she really wanted to do? These were the type of questions circling in Luke’s mind since entering the club. Even if it was a little birthday treat and he was the ‘birthday man’, he still wanted to make sure the model was having fun and all. Luke leaned over to be closer to the blonde while his hand unintentionally landed on her leg to keep himself upright and balanced. “I decided where we’d go. Now it’s your turn to pick what we do here. It’s only fair.” Removing his hand from her leg, Luke leaned back and beamed at the girl. Cailin could be stubborn and so was he, but there wouldn’t be a way for her to veto his request as he would protest in his favor.
The lights danced across the room to illuminate the silhouettes in the room as they got consumed by the poison in the small cups being led around the room. It was the best place, in Cailin’s opinion, to get lost in a daze from anything trifling and it had been almost a perfect choice for the activities of the night once her eyes had gleamed over Luke’s face for the third time that night. Whether it had been a natural instinct or a flawed view of a small part of a secret story, she knew that something had mixed in the chemicals of her best friend’s head and it had come with its faulty gestures, especially if the promise of intoxicated dreams had been not as appealing. She’d remember the countless of times that she imagined the two spending time under several different roofs loosing themselves to liquor and ill-fated laughs. As she considered this, she shifted automatically beneath the tight strap of her tight clothes, mindlessly adjusting her top so that she could be more comfortable under the whole gaze of the room, the fluorescent green lights soaking their bodies. She thrust her arm out on a whim and let the thin air in the room rip through her fingers, dancing through her hair as her head hung to the side. Her lips were pursed, though her demeanor and expression screamed of her satisfaction. “You’re a pro at this,” Cailin mused, and though she had said it with the best of intentions, the model wasn’t sure if she would be able to withstand the liquor at one get-go. “Nonetheless, cheers, babe-” Their glasses merely touched, clanking against each other in the fogginess of the room. “The night is still very young and we’ll make it ours.” It was a promise, one that she had voiced in an acknowledged mannerism of the poison that already coursed in her veins. “How could I pass that up offer?” Her articulation slightly was altered by the lisp that endangered itself, but it hadn’t taken her but few movements before she reached forward and took the hand that had burned an indent on leg just moments before. “I can think of a few things we can do.” The girl said, having tugged him close enough so that her lips were mere inches away from his ear- a breathy whisper that even she couldn’t quite decipher in that moment- before she pulled him toward the crowd, whom were completely and irrevocably too engrossed in the heat of the moment to notice such a known figure with a girl attached to him.

Luke: I'm honored to be the source of your song meanings. Slander me all you want
Luke: I'll add that to the list of things to tell you later instead of now. It's cute when you get all flustered
Cai: you say that now, but I might pull a Kanye West and throw loads of shade about you
Cai: so this means that I'll see you again?
Text ✉️ Baelin
Luke: You wouldn't do such a thing
Luke: I can do the same thing to you as well
Luke: You'll be my muse for all these new songs
Cai: You don't know me very well, then babe
Cai: I need a good hit and branding you on it sure does sound appealing right now
Cai: But what would you write about me? I'm curious

Luke: You'll be fine
Luke: Or are you going to go all Hollywood on me and mope around to get me to tell you what it is?
Cai: All Hollywood?
Cai: I might as well pull a Taylor Swift and write a song about you
Text ✉️ Baelin
Luke: Me of course
Luke: It'll be worth the wait
Cai: that still doesn't change the fact that I wanna know what you're hiding from me :/
Text ✉️ Baelin
Luke: I'd say you're gonna learn how to be one now ;)
Cai: oh really? And who is gonna teach me?

Luke: I'd rather ask you in person instead of through a text
Cai: And what if I said I never really was a patient person?

It was truly surreal whenever a fan told Luke he was their hero and he didn’t understand it; though, it was very humbling. Just a kid in a band alongside his friends all the way from Sydney being called ‘heroes’ and ‘idols’ was exceedingly insane. But such titles gave him and the band as a whole great responsibility as many people seemingly looked up to them. “Being your hero would be the cherry on top.” The musician riposted, flashing the model a grin. After touring all over the world, each place is completely different from the last; which meant none of them ever had the opportunity to fully explore the various establishments in the current town or city they were playing in. Their only reliable sources were miscellaneous recommendations they’ve gathered over time. Luke took advantage of the opportunity to hold her hand - the one thing he could only hope is that his hands weren’t cold and clammy or warm and sweaty. Intertwining his long fingers with her much shorter ones, he closed the distance in between the two just a bit more. Though this was a simple gesture, Luke couldn’t hide that this made him nervous; and what only made matters worse was hiding the fact that it was. With his other hand, he reached into his back pocket to retrieve his phone. Pressing a few buttons, he found a place the duo could go to - and ironically enough, it wasn’t that far away from their current position. Guiding them through this somewhat unknown city, they’d made it to a club he’d heard about earlier. They stood in front of its entrance that was illuminated by the neon lights. “Ladies first.” Untangling their fingers, Luke stepped to the side to allow Cailin to enter the building.
The night had welcomed a number of spontaneous gestures for the pair, but the blonde had never imagined that the band member would ever let their hands meet. It had been a welcomed gesture, nevertheless, as their fingers laced with each other. Their shoulders continuously met, a side effect of the lack of space between the two and just when Cailin was about to acknowledge the fact that she didn’t know where she was going, Luke had already moved to gather his phone. Her curious eyes couldn’t help but watch his slender fingers glide against the screen, moving to navigate the pair through the city before unwelcomed company invaded what little time they had together. And when they had arrived there, she had been unsettled by how quickly the hopper at front had been to let them in- something that the model had been guilty of bribing before- but she figured, with someone that had a name in Hollywood clinging to her, it would become a normal circumstance. Just as their hands untangled, Cailin was welcomed by the pulsating beat of the music in the next room. It had been an atmosphere that she knew all too well; bodies that were glistened with sweat and the smell of alcohol clinging to the air. This time, however, she wasn’t exactly sure what the male had in mind for tonight. The bar wasn’t far from where they were standing and without much thought, the girl led them toward it as a way to open their horizons. After all, Cailin had never been faced with an insober Luke before and from what she had heard and seen, the man wasn’t a stranger to partying. “Shots for the birthday man, then?” She asked, back pressed against the counter and grin evident on her features as she studied the man. “This round is on me.”

Cai: So the answer is always you, then?

Cai: Interesting

Luke took a large step back to exaggerate how much pressured she’d applied to his chest with just one of her fingers. His eyes darted back to hers for their eye contact to be in sync once again while the left side of his lips began to curve upwards. “Who said I’d bail you out?“ He paused, allowing the silence to stimulate the harshness of his question. He kept his demeanor as somber and restrained as he could before he broke the ice. “I’d only bail you out if you considered me your hero so I can call myself super Luke for a while.” Thinking back, Luke recollected the various memories they’ve shared - most prominently the AMA’s. It was really the first time he’d performed in front of the blonde and he definitely wanted to impress her. Based on their current relationship, he guessed they did pretty well seeing as Cailin she stayed in touch with him. “Far fetched? Maybe. It’d probably be easier getting Alex to hold down the fort since he wrote a song with us so we kind of have a special bond.” Luke shrugged before taking a few steps forward. “Are we just going to stand around here all night or are we going to do something?”
With the roll of her eyes, Cailin expressed just how much the boy’s dramatics was enough to spark even the most timid of smiles to settle on her face- no matter how much she liked to deny that they annoyed her. But even in the shadow of the streetlight the girl could notice the shade of blue that plagued his eyes, a crystalline sea that she knew that millions had fallen in love with and soon- she realized- she’d be among them. Her lips, however, pursed as the model’s knees locked and her gaze battled against his before the moment passed and the couple was faced with a sentiment that even she didn’t understand fully at the time. “Super Luke?” She questioned, brows risen to capture how the silly title wasn’t enough to please her. “So being everyone else’s hero isn’t enough for you?” Sure, the girl had only attended only a small number of his shows now but she now considered herself an expert when it came to fan encounters. Even from the moment that she had graced the red carpet alongside with Luke at the AMA’s did the blonde realize that he wasn’t just any band member hoping to make it and shared the same passion for music that settled in her very own veins. Perhaps, that was the very reason why the two worked so well together. “Then, he’d be an alright fill in, but I’m pretty sure that your fans would rather want you up there, so let’s hope that we don’t get caught tonight.” Just as the space between them had grown, did the man close it again and she was left with the panorama of his silhouette. A quick silence had settled in the air, one that she found easy to fill with the matching rate of stilled breathing before she pulled herself forward so that their bodies were touching. “If you really want to discover what the city has for us, then why are you standing there?” Their difference in height had allowed the opportunity for her words to create the air of intimidation, the smirk placed on her lips stronger than ever as his neck craned to meet her gaze again. There was a moment; one born from the tension that the model could feel budding in the air between them and an opportunity that was soon dismissed as the blonde found a small space to pass through. Taking four steps forward, Cailin turned toward him with an inviting smile and hand outstretched for him to take as the satisfaction of having some sort of effect rushed in her veins. “Let’s go.”
