“Trust me on this one, Bats,” she said confidently and began typing away. “I’ve been practicing.” In a matter of minutes Barbara was pulling secret filed out of thin air— or the GCPD main website— quickly reading them to find anything related to the bombs. “Here’s one,” she double clicked, opening the file before stepping back. “I’ll let you do the honor.”

Bruce watched the screen closely to decipher where she was getting this information, or better yet how. They’d already had a few close calls with her father, and Bruce wasn’t in the mood to deal with the man snooping around him again. He sat up in his chair and scrolled down the file she opened.

Barbara smirked before standing up. “Because she’s badass,” Barbara walked around the desk and turned the computer back on. “And she just so happens to know how to hack into the GCPD’s hidden files from this very computer without leaving a trace.”

Bruce turned his head to give her a look. “If you use an IP scrambler and log in with your father’s login like you did when you first started this, I’m going to pin you to the wall with batarangs and ground you from Batman related work.”

“Maybe the bombs were the opening act,” Barbara said simply. “A way for the bad guys to say ‘Hey Batman, I’m here and I’m here to stay.’ I mean you know how those villain types are, so overly dramatic.” Barbara paused. “Unlike you, of course.”

Bruce gave her a dry look. “An opening act? It’s a possibility, but I don’t think they’re dramatically saying hello to me,” he pointed out with a tsk, tsk, tsk. “Why am I speaking to the daughter with attitude?” he asked.
