When your friend group decides to go on a sequence of blind dates...but you can't see the person you're talking to.

Warnings and Content: mentions of sex, profane language, drinking, discussions of anxiety and depression, reader is a virgin. AFAB!reader, innocent-ish!reader, reader is insecure, Mikasa is relatable, Annie is a girlboss, reader's traumatized but it's not explained just implied.

You weren't really sure how you got yourself into this situation. You loved Hitch Dreyse, you really did, but sometimes she had horrible ideas. This time, the horrible idea was taking you, Mikasa, Sasha, and Annie on blind dates with random people. Or at least they were supposed to be random.

Everyone in your friend group of five was single. None of you really had a huge desire to change that.

In the case of Hitch, she doesn't usually go for long and committed relationships. Hitch usually looks for someone fun to spend the night with, or if she's feeling ambitious, maybe a couple of weeks. Though, the last time that happened, was with a guy named Marlo, and let's just say it didn't end well.

In the case of Mikasa Ackermann, she had been disillusioned with the idea of a genuine romantic relationship for a good while. Countless men approached Mikasa, only for the sake of her body. But she wanted so much more than that, she wanted loyalty and honesty. But no one gave that to her.

In the case of Sasha Braus, well...she just simply didn't care. The prospect of dating was neither here nor there to Sasha; the main benefit to her was that she could get chivalrous men to pay the checks on her enormous amounts of food.

In the case of Annie Leonhart, she was scary. It sounds mean, but it was the truth. Annie Leonhart was terrifying from the outside looking in. Rumors often swirled around about the strength of her punch, something not to be scoffed at. A previous date she had gone on with a guy named Colt had led to Colt getting ridiculously wasted and making unwanted advances...and thus Annie Leonhart kicked his ass.

And then there was you. Why were you single? It was an enigma. At first you gave that common answer, that you were simply taking time to "date yourself". But anyone who stepped into your circle knew that wasn't true. The constant self-deprecating remarks told everyone otherwise.

The real truth was that you were afraid. Of love, of intimacy, of trust. You were scared of having your heart ripped out. You'd never really "dated" anyone. And you were scared that the first time you felt the sensation of arms around you, lips leaving burning, passionate kisses on yours, you'd fall. Fast and hard.

And there would be no saving you.

And so you were pissed when Hitch told you she was setting you up on a blind date. And so were Mikasa and Annie. Sasha, as aforementioned, didn't care one way or the other.

"I'm telling you, (Y/N), these are good guys! You just have to trust me," Hitch said, trying to reassure you.

"Since when do you get acquainted with good guys? And what about good girls? I'm bisexual." Annie Leonhart retorted.

"I know a couple of good guys, and there are a couple of girls in the mix too, Annie. Don't be cynical, just fall in love!" Hitch exclaimed, giggling.

"And we're supposed to do that without even seeing the person we're dating?" Mikasa asked, rubbing her palm across her forehead.

"It's just like that show we watched! You know, if Nick and Vanessa Lachey can try and prove if love is blind by only casting hot people onto their show so can I!" Hitch huffed.

And thus what would become the adventure of your life began as you entered into your first blind date.

YESSS I LOVE HER

-I headcanon that Kaede’s love language is physical touch

-Like she LOVES cuddles, and she literally doesn’t care whether she’s the big or little spoon

-She plays with your hair, and she likes to wash it and dry it because she LOVES the way it smells

-She doesn’t just make you a playlist- she makes you a playlist for studying, sleeping, waking up, and a playlist for thinking about her.

-Girl can lowkey sing- says she can’t but she can

-Shuichi is the best man btw that’s a nonnegotiable

-Kaede cries at your wedding and your first dance is to “I Hear A Symphony”

-Kaede’s favorite musicals are Waitress, Next to Normal, and Beauty and the Beast, you’ve seen them all multiple times

Nagito Komaeda watches you from afar, crazed green eyes staring at your skin, your hair, anything within his eyesight. He can’t help the delirious low chuckle that escapes his mouth when you looked behind you, worrying that someone was watching you. And they most definitely were.

You sigh, wondering what weird suspicious hunch you were having. But something in you told you to fulfill your curiosity and look. You turned around, and your eyes meet green ones. Your first reaction is to panic and run, but when you hear him laugh- something keeps you right in place.

Manic giggles left the stranger’s mouth. “Well, looks like my luck is serving me today, that’s not often.”

“S-stay away, I have a weapon.”

The stranger only continues to laugh, staring you right in the eyes. “I’m not going to hurt you, all I’m going to do is watch. You’re free to go about your business, just pretend like I’m not here.”

“That’s really creepy, you know. You can’t just follow someone, don’t you realize that’s suspicious?”

He only laughs at your response, making a shiver run up your spine. “Like I said, just pretend I’m not here.”

You start walking, the cops on speed dial. “Aww, are you going to call the police? That’s a shame. I’d rather you handcuff me instead.”

-Nagito loves you, A LOT. It’s kind of an obsession. It definitely weirds out the people around you.

-I’m 100% convinced that Nagito’s love language is words of affirmation, and I am also convinced he does not tell you this because he thinks he doesn’t deserve it.

-But you figure it out, and you and Nagito learn how to take care of each other’s wants and needs

-Once you guys get your communication together, he doesn’t even think twice about proposing to you

-Honestly, sometimes, he was part of the problem. It’s just in his nature to encourage you to do what you put your mind to.

-He’ll give you all the energy drinks you need, but he doesn’t really care at first when the sleep deprivation signs start to show; he thinks it’s just a part of the process of you achieving your goal.

-And then you push yourself way too hard. He’s sitting beside you, trying to motivate you and then you faint.

-He feels SO guilty. He thinks it’s his fault. He quickly sets you down on the bed and tries to help you recover.

-He apologizes endlessly when you wake up, and you calmly tell him that it’s just as much your fault for not listening to your body.

-After all, it’s your body and it’s your responsibility to take care of it. He of course says that he wants to help and definitely runs you a bath.

-You two help each other not push each other too hard and take care of each other.

Shuichi Saihara

-Was surprised he didn’t pass out first.

-He cares a lot more about you than he does himself, so he’s constantly watching over you when you do your work.

-Then, Shuichi has a very difficult week. The case he’s on is constantly requiring him to work and he doesn’t have the time to overanalyze you like usual.

-Because you don’t have Shuichi helping you, you somehow convince yourself you can’t go to sleep unless it’s ABSOLUTELY perfect. (It never will be)

-You wake up in the hospital, with Kaede freaking out. Apparently, you and Shuichi had BOTH fainted from over exhaustion, as overworking yourselves was a flaw you too shared.

-Kaede is angry at first, but calms down as soon as she realizes she often overworks herself when she practices for piano. She’s gotten better at prioritizing her health, so she helps you both understand your limits.

-You and Shuichi just have this mutual understanding that whoever has the hardest day just gets assaulted with kisses.

Rantaro Amami

-He is absolutely pissed at himself

-He’s supposed to be taking care of you, this is how he lost his sisters, how could he be so careless, etc etc etc

-He takes you to the hospital because he doesn’t trust himself to take care of you. As soon as you wake up, he apologizes and you tell him he didn’t do anything wrong.

-He offers to take you on a vacation so you can take a break from work.

-You take him up on it...after a Rantaro Amami Make Out Session(TM)

- Gundham supports you in everything you do, but in his own strange Gundham way

- Gardening? “My dark sorceresses’ poisonous plants that kill those who go against her will!”

- (They’re strawberries, and he takes pride in being able to “resist your poison”)

- He has many different nicknames for you.

- “Dark Queen”, “Evil Sorceress’’, “My Dark Enchantress (Y/N)”, “Beautiful Villain”

- He LOVES it when you call him “Dark King/Prince” or “Supreme Overlord”

- You are the official Gundham translator. Your friends and family thank you for it.

- Gundham’s preferred kind of date is just cuddling up and watching movies inside.

- He’ll take you out if you really want him to, but he prefers it just being the two of you (and

- If you two go out, usually his friends will be there too. Even if they weren’t invited.
