Reading my RULES will ensure that none of us wastes their time. I will know if you didn't read them and just slid into my asks or DMs without consideration for me. That will get an instant block. I don't have the time and energy to deal with people like that.
RULES may also change, so please check in if you haven't for some time.
For more information please read through the VERSES, the ABOUT MUSE page, and the ABOUT MUN page.
The PROMO POST is always okay to reblog.
All of these things can also be found on this blog's CARRD if you prefer to read things on a CARRD interface instead of Tumblr.

Sorry for being so inactive. The mental health is not mental healthing and then things happened IRL, so I got busy, and my job sucks and AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
I hope I'll be able to get back on track soon, but no promises. Sorry.
Brown eyes hidden behind mask kept their gaze upon the other, watching him as brows slowly furrowed - only for him to almost step back once the vigilante stepped over, wary. The other's words made the soldier tilt his head slightly for a moment before he relaxed somewhat, the tension that kept his body loosening but not without a spark of pain running its course through him, causing a hiss of a breath to be let out.
The faster he was out of this mess, the faster he could take care of his injuries more properly instead of slowly bleeding out while just standing there.
James blinked at the wordless offer, staring for a moment, clearly hesitating but in the end simply quietly accepted it, placing his arm over Daredevil's shoulders with half a sigh falling from his lips. Thankfully he wouldn't put all of his weight onto the other, and at least it wasn't his left arm that rested there - while he didn't doubt that Matt could lift it without trouble, right now was not the time to prove that theory. Head cocking to the side as the other spoke once more, the soldier let out a small ‘tch’ in response before opening his mouth.
“ The cops would be too happy to corner the Winter Soldier and you know that. ” It was far from a lie, he knew how the government was, how the police was, and any change they'd get to get their hands on someone such as him, they would take it in a heartbeat, even if he was striving to do better than his past – Even if some events lately seemed to try to get in the way of being a good guy, as people would call it.
They had no reason to go after him in broad daylight, it would be stupid and James always banked on that.
“ But good to know that that shit was all for me. Great, just fuckin' great. At this rate I'll catch a break when I'm dead. ” He paused to roll his eyes, his annoyance showing through both his body language and his tone as he spoke. Oh how he hated how much he was feeling in the moment and just couldn't wait to get to that safe house so that he could sit down instead of stand on his own two feet. It was borderline torturous but he still kept himself together - for the most part, or so, he hoped. The soldier would at least spare Matt from his morbid sense of humor, seeing there was a time and a place for that and right now? Far from it, unless he wanted the vigilante to go back on his words.
The fingers of his metal hand curled with a mostly quiet whir as he then hung his head low, turned away, closing his eyes for a moment as he just focused on ignoring the flare of pain he was currently feeling.
“ If anythin', I'll just consider myself lucky that it was you getting here first and not them. ”
Matt braced himself as Barnes leaned on him, fully aware that the other wasn't putting his whole weight on him. Well, as long as Barnes wasn't fainting, Matt wouldn't complain.
The sirens were getting closer.
"The police isn't exactly a fan of me, either," Matt grunted in response and took the first step, urging Barnes to get going. "Fact is, we need to get out of here before they arrive, so let's get a move on." He wasn't exactly keen on answering to the cops. Mostly because it always ended with him having to run and climbing faster onto the next roof than the officers following him could shoot. And with the Winter Soldier hanging off of him, he was afraid they would shoot first and ask questions later, instead of extending some grace and doing it the other way around.
Matt was not having a good night right now. Right now he wished his night had stayed quiet and uneventful. But he rarely got what he wished for. Instead fate had blessed him with a wounded supersoldier that he needed to get to Frank's safehouse without being seen.
"We can figure out why they lured you here later," Matt said and adjusted Barnes' weight over his shoulders a bit before stepping through a door that led to a hallway that would get them out of the building. "Together with the discussion about killing. But we can only do that if we hurry up."
And then he did just that, moving as fast as Barnes would allow.
Matt wasn't just concerned about the cops, he was also concerned about Barnes' wounds. The blood oozing out of them, the heat emanating from them, the little tells from Barnes' body and movements—all of that told Matt that Barnes would be better off in a hospital than with him. But Matt also knew that men like them couldn't just walk into a hospital, so they stumbled through the dark streets, staying away from the more frequented areas and street lamps.
"Just one more block," Matt said quietly and wrapped his arm a bit tighter around Barnes' waist, securing him to his side. Then he cocked his head, hearing zoning in on their surroundings and the way they still had to go. Everything was quiet. "We shouldn't run into any trouble. Are you still good to keep going?"
If we're mutuals, you can ask for my Discord. I'm more easily reachable there to scream about stuff or plot things, etc. Especially during this heatwave (someone please either save or end me, I don't care what you choose to do).
FRIENDLY PSA; you don’t “owe” anyone fast replies. you are not disappointing people or letting people down or being unfair to people if you don’t do your drafts within a certain amount of time. whether we’re talking new writing partners or your closest rp partners, no one worth their two cents is ever going to put pressure on you to reply fast to them or be disappointed in you if you don’t have the time / energy / mood, etc to write for a while, or if you only feel like replying to certain things. so don’t put that pressure onto yourselves when no one else is doing so. love yourself and allow yourself to take the time you need. you’re not a machine. you’re a human being, with a life outside the screen, with feelings and emotions and responsibilities and probably your own struggles. we all have these moments of not feeling or being able to write from time to time. so be kind to yourself like you would be to anyone else. ♥
A soft 'hah' left James as he listened to Matt's words, his right hand coming to rest against his side, right over a huge gash as he tilted his head slightly, taking note of the other's body language despite it was rather dark - but the dark didn't bother him when his mask could allow him to see clearly.
His breath was heavy, shoulders slowly slouching forward as he lowered his head, looking down at his wounds to assess the state he was in - or at least, as much as he could, it didn't feel safe to do so fully, not when tension filled the air between them. His right hand would move lower, fingers digging into the bullet wound just above his hip, taking out the bullet that hadn't made its way through out and simply tossing it to the floor.
His regenerative properties were nothing next to Wolverine's, but they would eventually kick in, that much he knew. Or so, he hoped it would kick in, high pain tolerance aside.
“As I said before, I was attacked.” He began, with a wave of his metal hand down toward the bodies. “But I do believe none of this would've happened if they didn't fuck around and found out.. or if you showed up. Urgh." No, something felt wrong, incredibly wrong and his senses seemed to kick into overdrive. A small ‘tch’ followed by a ‘really?’ left the soldier as he turned around, stepping away from the corpses on the floor for a moment as his right hand came to right upon his chest. The brown haired man looked over his shoulder, back over toward Daredevil for a moment, before his gaze moved elsewhere, unfocused.
“Well aware I didn't have to kill ‘em, Horns, I don’t need a reminder.” Accidents happened, he had to always remind himself most of the times. Squeezing his eyes shut for a moment, lips were pressed together, brows furrowed. The pain was trickling in, like wave after wave, it was vicious and honestly he never felt something of the sort but he would keep his cool, even if he knew that he couldn't hide it away. Nothing could be hidden away from Daredevil out of all people. Taking in a deep breath, he straightened his posture slightly, hand returning to the gash at his side, just below his metal shoulder.
He wasn't invincible. Hard to kill, sure, but not invincible. Far from it.
“Put yourself in my shoes for a moment - would be what I'd ask but by the tone of your voice, I think you've already made your mind.” He slowly turned around to face Matt, brows still furrowed, frown on his lips. “I get it, the whole ‘you don’t have to kill anyone' deal, ain't givin' you shit for gettin' on my case. You should know how I operate - I'm not Castle.” Those words were followed by a soft hiss as he hunched over a little more. Steady, James, Steady, were words that he had to keep repeating to himself. He couldn't get away easily, any movement started to feel sluggish but he couldn't let that stop him. Focus. Taking another breath in after an exhale, he steadied himself, tongue coming out just to wet his dry lips as he weighed his next words.
“Hell, I'm pretty sure all of this crap is a trap I've walked into, and you're being played as well, but who the fuck knows anymore.” A shot in the dark about why he had been tailed to this specific location. He wasn't one that would normally fuck around within Matt's territory - he knew how the other worked, he wasn't dumb, but they had forced his hand, put him in a position that was hard to get out of without putting a fight - and by gods he hoped he didn't fight right now.
“So, tell me – hhn – Devil, what are you going to do about it, huh? Bring me out to justice? Wouldn't that be nice?” His voice dripped with sarcasm.
Matt kept his focus on Barnes, listening closely, deciphering the situation by detailing the damage done to Barnes' body—the blood rushing through his veins towards the wounds, the muscles moving beneath his skin, the metal of a bullet scraping against his insides, until it was pulled out with a sickening squelch. If Matt wasn't used to these sounds already, he would recoil.
But he could also hear Barnes' body knitting itself back together—slowly. Not that it would do him much good at the rate it was going, the damage severe and deep at certain points. He needed stitches and to stop the bleeding. Rest and food would probably help, too, supplying support to his healing.
Matt sighed and took a deep breath, ripping himself away from Barnes' insides to listen to what the man had to say. Not that he liked the words coming out of the other's mouth. Pursing his lips Matt stayed silent, turning his head away, figuring out how to respond.
Of course the outcome would have been different if he had been there. That didn't mean nobody would have died and they wouldn't be in a similar situation as to now. But as he had figured earlier: Living in what-ifs was no use. It would make you spiral and wonder and question yourself until your dying day.
Not that Matt wasn't guilty of doing exactly that every time he went out in the mask. Or even during his day job, his heart aching and his mind racing and his hands itching, itching, itching.
But for his own sanity—and Barnes' own good—he needed to stop these thoughts today before they could take root.
Licking his lips, Matt opened his mouth. And closed it. Words were swirling around in his head, fighting to get out, to make his case. But he was a lawyer, too, and knew when he had to swallow his opinion instead of blurting it out. His fingers twitched.
With another sigh he made a decision, head tilting towards Barnes as he made his way over. He sidestepped the bodies littering the floor, like some kind of macabre dance—and Barnes was his partner in this violent choreography of blood and pain.
His soles made wet sounds as they connected with the various bodily fluids leaking everywhere, unavoidable, cruel in their reality. Even stopping right next to Barnes wasn't silent to his ears.
"We can discuss morality later," Matt said, finally, ignoring most of Barnes' words. Of course he knew how Barnes operated. It wasn't exactly a secret and it wasn't like Matt didn't have his ears everywhere.
The heat coming from Barnes' wounds was concerning. As were the sirens that were slowly coming closer. Someone must've heard the commotion and called the police.
"Let's get you out of here and stitched up first. I don't need you bleeding out on me." Wordlessly he offered for Barnes to lean on him, knowing better than to just touch him. The sirens were getting louder. "There is a safehouse not that far from here." He didn't say that it was one of Frank's. Matt wasn't above utilizing Frank's hideouts if he had to, and he knew that there usually was a well-stocked first-aid kit around. Just what they needed.
Then a smirk entered his voice and stayed on his lips for a second. Turning his head towards Barnes he said, "Believe me, this whole thing was entirely for you. They didn't want anything from me. I heard the commotion—didn't even know it was you at first. Now, let's go. Except if you want to explain this whole mess to the cops."
