I've thought about telling my irl best friend about my alterhumanity, but 1) I don't want to risk losing them over it, 2) I have no idea how to bring up the topic or something similar to see what they think about it or if they even know what I'm talking about, and 3) when we were playing VRchat a while back and I had my character as a dragon, they said "maybe you should be a human or something similar? You know, so it's easier..." and that kinda shattered my confidence to tell them. I'm worried it'll be like 12 year old me and that friend all over again.

The other night I went on a night walk with human mother and her mate, and it was funny because they were walking together in front of me and I had our dog on the lead, and I don't know why but I had a claw/talon shift! Which totally threw me because I could only feel my front left talon (I had the dog's lead in my other hand), and I was so confused as to why I was having a shift at that moment, especially only in one hand. So I was just walking the dog and having a claw shift for no apparent reason, and at some point human mother turned around to me and asked, "Fang, you okay?" XD

hey! wanna go hunting? i try to know all the dragons who live on these cliffs with me and i haven't ever really met you yet! if you like fish, there's some really great ones in the bay down there, and you can just stick your head into the water and snatch them mid-flight

how? what do you mean how, it's not hard, you just- wait, can you not fly? how have you made it to adulthood as a dragon without flying? didn't your parents teach you as a hatchling?

oh...

i had no idea. i forget all the time that not every dragon starts out as a dragon. you've never flown before, huh? human cities aren't super well-optimized for flying around in, and you just moved out here... well, this is a great place for your first flight! you don't have to figure out how to get off the ground, you just jump off and open your wings!

yeah, i know it's scary. you'll be fine! your brain may not know how to do it, but your body does, i promise. as soon as you're in the air and your wings are open it'll come naturally. i've been teaching hatchlings to fly for years, it won't be any different for you, i swear. besides, i won't let you fall. i'm bigger than you and if something happens i'll just get under you and stop your fall. the bay is a lot deeper than it looks anyway, it's totally fine to crash-land into it if you need. i promise you that you will not get hurt. dragon's honor

look, i can go first if you want and then circle back. would that be nice? ok, watch me. wings close to your sides and you jump down, and then pull your head back and open your wings to level out. like this!

ok, open your wings- yeah, perfect! ok, you turn by leaning your body and tilting your wings to one side! we're gonna bank right and glide through that natural arch- yes you can, you big baby, your form is great! alright, follow me now!

see, look at that. you're a natural. stop with all the "i can't fly" talk, you're doing great. see the waves coming in? let's drop down to the water and shoot the barrel on some waves and get some fish, huh?

dive! cmon, faster! alright, wings out... now! see, you're not even wet! into the wave! oh, nice form! love the little barrel roll! now stick your head into the water and grab yourself a fish, you've earned it. what do you think about a slower celebratory lap around the bay just to warm down a bit? hell yeah

Entry #004:

A few weeks ago, I tried to bring on a full shift.

I do not remember ever experiencing a full shift before, but this experience brought me very, very close to one.

I found some therian meditations online and tried them out.

First and most easily, my wings came in. These were familiar to me, I had often felt my wings before this and could sometimes bring the feeling on when I rolled my shoulders and focussed.

But then I felt my claws. I had never truly felt them before. My fingers were tingling as I felt the sharp, curled claws at the ends of them. Powerful and strong, I felt both my front and back claws on each limb.

For what I think was also the first time, I could feel my snout and teeth, and when I opened my mouth slowly, I could see what my mouth looked like in my mind. Sharp, shiny teeth emerging from a long snout.

For some reason, my tail seemed to come in and out of feeling, and I struggled to picture it. But I thanked the universe for this experience anyway - it had been a while since I last attempted to bring on a shift like this, and I was grateful for feeling closer to my true form than ever before.

When the meditation was over, I slowly opened my eyes and got up, first on all fours as it felt most natural, then slowly stepping off the bed on two. I felt wobbly on two legs, which was quite funny to me.

That was all I remember of that night.

Been a while since I updated this blog! Uni has been kicking my scaly butt recently.

Anyway, it's coming up to a break for me, so I can hopefully get back to using this blog a bit!

Entry #003:

I have been thinking about the things that make me feel more 'me' recently.

Driving in the back seat of the car with the window down, because the wind against my face with my eyes closed makes me feel like I am flying.

Swimming, oh how I miss swimming. Moving fluidly through the water and stretching my limbs, turning in ways that feel so much more natural than walking or running.

Being in nature and feeling the sensation of grass below my claws, breathing in the fresh air, hearing bird sounds, and taking in all of the smells.

These are the things that remind me of who I truly am. The things I wish I could do so much more often. Maybe one day, I will again...

Asked a friend to hypnotize me for funsies. We specifically focused on helping me feel my dragon body and quieting the human thoughts, letting me immerse myself in draconic instincts.

I felt so big and heavy that for a while there it was impossible for me to get off the bed. I end up curling atop my hoard (gems) and just laying on them for a bit. When I was able to move again, I decided I needed to take a dip in the hot tub.

This turned out to be a terrible idea because while I was in the water, the chlorine distributor buoy thought it would be really funny to bump into the relaxing dragon. And since my human thoughts were totally in the back seat, I naturally thought it would be a REALLY GOOD IDEA to bite the buoy for its insolence.

0/10 I do not recommend biting the buoy it tastes like chlorine.

Anyway that triggered the safety clauses and brought my human thoughts mostly back but I spent another like two hours being too dragonbrained to do any legitimate human stuff. Like I forgot how to use zippers, or why I couldn't see without my glasses, or how to open the fucking fridge lmao.

It's really cool because the hypnosis wasn't about making me a dragon, it was about pushing my humanity aside so I had the liberty to be the dragon I already was. It's really affirming to know that once my human thoughts are pushed down, the dragon thoughts and instincts are in full control. It wasn't like there was someone else in control of my body, but rather that I was free and safe to be purely a dragon without the filter of humanity holding me back. It was all me, and in fact it was probably MORE me than I ever was before.

Anyway I highly recommend trying it. Get a hypnotist you're comfortable with and can trust, and let them zonk you into dragonhood.

stop being so stressed. aren't you tired of being human? just get on all fours, shed that silly human costume of yours, and use that maw for what it was meant for: no complicated, weird human words, only primal growls and chirps. extend your wings, lay on top of a warm rock, stretch your spine to the tip of your tail and let out a loud roar.
