Newly realized problem with the JoJo part 5 fandom
Since being a part of the many JoJo readers and watchers since 2013 or so, I've come to notice that within the western and eastern community of those that really like part 5, the character of Trish Una has been seen as someone that could be shipped all across the board. The Passione gang? Assassins? Diavolo's henchmen? You can see Trish art or writings with any one of the Male cast, no matter how contradictory or outright bizarre it may be.
And it's all led to a single idea as to why that is: fans of the part are simply using Trish Una as a slate, as a self insert, so that they can wear the character as a skin whilst playing out their own fantasy of hooking up with whichever VA Male tickles their fancy on a particular day.
It's a practice that only became more and more obvious the more I thought about it and is impossible to find in any other part, particularly in the way it's been done to a female character (with preestablished bonds and traits that get twisted for the sake of these fantasies) of the JoJo franchise. It only continues to serve as an eye-rolling reminder of how the JoJo- if not how all fandoms- can get, especially when this tendency is repeated to ship Trish with someone as deplorable as say Cioccolata or others.
But if it makes you happy? Do as you please. This all just piles onto my many little and major reasons as to why part 5 is my least favorite in the series
