Plotcanon: The old Red-Light District of Blacklight
The red-light district was one of the holds of the rising political House Llevaros. It was in equal parts a measure of the House’s power and their downfall from grace. The red-light district rose to prosperity in the third century of the third era. It served as a trading hub for slaves, drugs, and prostitution. Tucked beneath the bowels of Blacklight, the red-light district was regarded as a blemish in the eyes of House Redoran but was allowed to continue due to both certain Redoran nobles quietly partaking in the services offered as well as the district being largely kept out of sight and mind. The red-light district’s contributions to Blacklight’s economy likewise aided in it’s continued existence.
The red-light district came to an end in 385, when a string of unsolved murders accumulated in the Red-Light Massacre, where the patrons and prostitutes of a brothel were slain in a bloodbath. There were no survivors, and four upstanding Redoran nobles died in the incident. Following this, Archmaster Drelethyn Venim ordered for the red-light district to be razed to the ground. Many died in the blaze, but those who lived in the district were considered akin to an infestation, and Blacklight would be better off without these people. The move angered many trading partners, but House Redoran claimed that as the district was property of House Llevaros and, as Llevaros had sunken into dishonor, dealing with broken contracts and restructuring was the minor House’s responsibility and their chance for redemption.
The district was never rebuilt nor was it wholly demolished. The burnt ruins of the red-light district is home to the beggars and homeless of the city, and is the stage for many of Blacklight’s urban myths and murders. When being asked about the burnt ruins of the red-light district, many citizens of Blacklight will claim to not know of such a place; it has become a source of superstition, taboo to talk about and bad fortune if one does. The residents of the ruins themselves don’t hold this opinion, though discerning the truth from the many tales they will weave is difficult. But if one is lucky, perhaps they will learn the story of House Llevaros’ folly and the burning of the red-light district.

4E 131, 6th of First Seed
There have been reports since the 2nd of First Seed that a ship of unknown origin has been spotted far to the south of Summerset Alinor. So far it has only been seen by our own scouting vessels, so this news hasn’t come to light to the general public; it is at the moment strictly a military concern (of course, given my friendly connections, it should be no surprise such information was divulged to me as well, despite my strictly civilian status).
My friendly connections have reason to believe, due to the unusual description of the ship, that it may be a maormeri vessel. Which, if true, is an incredible opportunity. The scouting ships unfortunately could not get close enough to confirm (they already patrol so close to the super storm; I can’t say I blame them) but I remain optimistic. I sail out on the morrow to see for myself.
As the resident expert of all things maormer (currently living) my insight should prove to be quite useful.

Muse Aesthetic: S’en Llevaros
“Ask anyone who S’en was and you will get a thousand different answers, mine just as useless as anyone else’s. But I will tell you this; never, in all my years, have I met another so wholly mortal, so irrevocably alive.”

Some in-class doodles of my babe that I like
@rhupa Did a sketch a while back when we first started this disaster trainwreck ship so I colored it. I had some writing to go a long with it too that I might post as a reblog from @house-gardinier when I get a chance.
A Journal written by Theodore Gardinier, dated 4E 7
I awoke in the morning saturated in my blissful stupor. A grin painted itself semi-permanently across my face as I reminisced the events that transpired last night. For the past hour a ray of the Alik’r sun traced it’s way from the window towards the center of my bed. Slowly the light cut through my close-lidded eyes and ushered me awake with a soft, yet slightly uncomfortable heat.
