So there’s this thing called ‘Aardappel Anders’ in the Netherlands, which basically means ‘different potato’ (wtf), and ehm, well, yeah, ever since I’ve heard about the Almighty Johnsons, and the fact that Dean’s character was called ‘Anders’ I laugh every time I hear Dutch people say the word ‘anders’, because yeah. Well. My parents had this in our kitchen cupboard, and I had to do this.

Turks fruit (1973)

Sort of a cross between “Love Story” and an earthy Rembrandt painting, this movie stars Rutger Hauer as a gifted Dutch sculptor who has a stormy, erotic, and star-crossed romance with a beautiful young girl.
