How is this my first human Simon drawing that actually is like. either facing forward or not covered in blood

Anyway I've been thinking about them a lot

Literal Butcher Simon where being a “surgeon” is a labor worker.

Where he learns so much about anatomy and the human body through trial and error, not through schooling. Where he has to physically restrain someone with one hand while the other is sawing off a leg, wide awake because they can’t waste resources on everyone. Where infection is so commonplace even in the vastness of space because medicine is just not readily accessible. Where he would amputate a solider and then less than a day later, he would have to harvest their corpse because they didn’t make it anyway. Where his disabled brothers and sisters would be left to rot until they eventually died and he would find them on his table once again.

Literal Butcher Simon that had hacked off so many limps and chopped up so many bodies, that knew amputation as a death sentence, having his own arm ripped off and somehow making it. Something he didn’t think was even possible.

Literal Butcher Simon that is still just a little too small, has to have someone bigger hold down the solider, streaming tears and repeating apologizes over and over the first time he has to apply a tourniquet to their arm, trying to stop his small hands from shaking too much as he cuts, cuts, cuts and snaps the bone off.

Literal Butcher Simon hearing encouragement from his mother the whole time the solider is screaming behind the gag. Tying back his hair and whispering that he did so good as he drops the arm into a bucket to be skinned and stripped later. Another lesson for later.

Literal Butcher Simon that first learns how to dissociate, to push through, to draw a scowl on his face, to grit his teeth, while blood splatters his round cheeks and prune still soft hands.

Literal Butcher Simon that has to skin and gut his own mother when she died, with the same knife she had gifted him, and bury her underneath the tree.
