The Proving gives me feels every time I play it.
Sam, what can I say that wasn’t already said?
On 1993, I went to the movies with my Mom, I was 7 years old (a little young maybe for this kind of movie, but hey… that was the charm of the 90`s). That`s where I first met you, Dr. Alan Grant, a great paleontologist with a sharp instinct and intellect who, despite his disgust for kids, he ended up being the best dad figure you can ever imagine.
Alan Grant was more than a character; he was a heroic figure for a lot of kids out there who wanted to become paleontologist as adults (in my case biologist). You portrayed the inner kid that we all have now as adults and remind us the wonders of this lost world.
I followed your movies and achievements through the years, but despite your amazing roles and your endless talent, for me you will always be Alan Grant.
With tears in my eyes I can only say “Thank You”. Thank you for your passion, for your time, for your movies, for opening your life to strangers that became your community and for showing us your peaceful life in the countryside and the wonders of Mother Nature. Because even do Jurassic Park ended, you kept being Alan Grant. It was in your veins, it was in your blood and in your heart.
Every single kid that grew up with Alan Grant will never forget you, and many of them will keep his legacy through their work thanks to you.
Sam, you never knew me, but you let us knew you at least a little, and for that I thank you. I will miss you deeply.
Life finds a way, and I hope that you found your way in life too.
Rest in Peace

A Christmas present I drew for my husband. We watched Castle in the Sky together for the first time this year and it instantly became his favorite Studio Ghibli movie. Happy to report that he loves it! :)
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
