Coffee. Caffeine. For some reason, that was all Eli could think about as entered the Grind House, and he didn’t even look around to see who was nearby until after he’d gotten his order and drank a large gulp of hot liquid.Walking over to one of the couches he gestured to the seat opposite someone, still immersed in his coffee. “Mind if I sit?”
ooc:
sorry work got crazy hectic, i was hardly home! will be replying to starters in the next hour or so though
Riley had just walked into the party, after taking way too long to decide on an appropriate outfit for the event. Which now that she was there, didn’t seem to matter as everyone seemed to be focused on the party aspect of it all. Looking for anyone familiar she paused for a moment, turning when she heard someone come up behind her. “I don’t get it, shouldn’t this be, like, sad or something?”
“mm, probably,” he nodded in answer before laughing lightly. A few people had seemed sad -or rather, in shock- earlier in the day.. but once alcohol was involved it was difficult not to have a good time. “Though from what I hear, this was kinda that girl’s vibe?”
Ryder had wandered outside, separating herself from the other people at the party as she sipped her cocktail, needing a moment away from the madness of the party. She turned when she heard someone clear their throat, “hey.”
“How’s it going?” Eli asked as he saw yet another unfamiliar face turn towards him. He had to admit that it was kind of nice being somewhere new, even if that happened to be a small ass town where one murder was the biggest thing to happen in decades.
blonde locks flipped as the girl turned, startled. she had been in one of the prominently quieter areas to make sure no one had dared to go into let alone get near her father’s precious garage. ❝ hey… you. —— who are you exactly ? and why are you over here when the party is clearly over there ? ❞
Seeing the blonde girl who was apparently hosting the party, Eli made an attempt to straighten himself up. Last thing he needed was to get kicked out of a party he wasn’t meant to be at in the first place. “Eli”, he told her honestly before adding, “just looking around is all. I’ll, uh, head back..”
He kept to himself that night as well. The party or vigil had been the last place he had wanted to be at, but showed up anyway when previous events blew up in his face. Hearing an unfamiliar voice alert him from behind, he turned his head to take view of who it had been. Another male who was now approaching him – Strange… ❝Hi. ❞ he replied simply and turned his attention back toward the view of the party. ❝ Something you need help with? Like an unopened beer bottle? ‘Cause I’ve been opening them all night for people. ❞
Eli couldn’t help but laugh at the suggestion and offer of help, he’d been opening bottles since he was 12. “You know, I think I got the whole bottle opening situation taken care of..” he retorted lightly, following the other boy’s gaze. “Just walkin’, and you were there.”
“Shut up, I mean in general. In Lakewood. Why? Last I heard, you were in Atlanta with your mom or whatever…” He sighed, taking a long gulp of his beer, finishing his bottle off.
“Obviously, I wanted to see my favorite cousin. Are you drunk already? What’s with the hostility?” Eli asked innocently.
Kieran just rolled his eyes at his reply. “Sorry… Hi Eli, glad to see you all healthy and right here… Now, what are you doing here?”
eli frowned slightly at Kieran’s continued apparently bad mood, but he just shrugged and held up his cup. “I’m drinking, hanging out, enjoying the party and whatnot. What’s it look like?”
“..And he was like, well of course, I’m not her for her…” He chuckled, before he heard the voice behind him. As he slowly turned around, he let out a sigh. “You. What the hell are you doing here?”
Eli raised his eyebrows as he saw his cousin, waiting for him to turn around and acknowledge him. When Kieran finally did turn, Eli didn’t expect the harsh response he got. “Oh wow, ‘hi’ to you too, Kieran.”
“If it’s such fun why aren’t you in there?” Audrey asked curiously, seeing if she could remember seeing the boy before, but couldn’t quite place him. “Are you new?”
“I dunno, guess I like observing.” he answered openly. It certainly was a sight to behold, all these kids hanging out to ‘remember’ some dead Queen B. “Yeah, you could say that.”
Sage looked at the male and she had an uneasy look on her face. “Honestly? I feel horrible. I also feel on edge and scared about the whole situation. Something just doesn’t feel right..” Sage muttered as she ran a hand through her hair before drinking some more.
“I mean yeah, the whole murder thing isn’t exactly the welcoming I was imagining, but people get killed sometimes. My bet’s on the boyfriend, or ex boyfriend. Assuming she had at least one..” Eli rambled. shrugging the whole thing off.
emma wasn’t expecting anyone to be standing next to her, especially since she’d left all of her friends in another room. she exhaled slightly, letting her body calm down from the small fright. she rolled her eyes, glancing at him. “it was supposed to be some sort of memorial to her. the last hurrah of nina patterson.” it had definitely turned into that but emma thought it would be something else. “i guess so.”
With a small nod and raised eyebrows, Eli admitted, “Never met her, but it’s a hell of a way to remember someone..” He looked around briefly, taking in the sight of people celebrating more than mourning. “You, uh, want a drink or something?”
Coming to the ‘party’ in rememberance of the biggest bitch in school had gone better than she had expected - the free alcohol in particular was nice, but she felt so out of place she was getting ready to leave again as soon as she could find Noah. The unexpected ‘hey’ behind her though paused her train of thought though, “Uhm. Hey,” she offered back a bit awkwardly.
“Any reason you’re lurking around the outside of the party? People seem to be having fun..” Eli asked her, just wanting some conversation.
“I know amazing isn’t it.” She took a sip from her drink
“Well this is fun.. don’t fall in the pool,” he rolled his eyes as he grumbled dismissively.
Sage wasn’t really interested in getting involved in the party. She was just there to quietly pay her respects and maybe meet with a couple of her close friends. She turned around at the sound of a males voice. “Hey, how are you holding up?” Sage questioned kind of relieved that someone else seemed to be on the sidelines with her.
The question put Eli off a bit, it was pretty obviously not ingrained into the town of Lakewood like everyone else was. He hadn’t even met this Nina girl before she died. He took a drink from his cup before replying, “just peachy. What do you think of .. this whole thing?”
“Oh, it’s you again.”
“The enthusiasm in your voice in incredible..” he retorted dryly.
