I really hate that we got backed into this corner again by DSS. We ended up getting an extension cord for the yard tools, and the wire fell into the head clipper's blade, and OF COURSE, the extension cord took $30 out of cash assistance that we could have used as food. Because OF COURSE, the yard tools we got didn't come with an extension cord, and OF COURSE, yard work does not come with rent. So we have to do it ourselves, and we already got yelled at by the Town for our weeds overgrowing. We got the lawn mowed, and thankfully, the lawn mower is not affected by this, but the extension cord is needed by all the other tools. Which means... we're out $30, because if we focus on food, our landlord will add the fine he gets hit with onto our rent. And that's $500 extra. Yeah. The Town fines you $500 for this. But DSS doesn't want to raise anything, so we barely get enough cash assistance to live on as well as food stamps.
Am I asking for money for a new extension cord? No. I'm asking for help with food, so we can use the cash assistance to get the extension cord to finish our lawn before the 21st. We need the energy to be able to do this, and maybe NOT have the extension cord fall against the hedge trimmer's blade again? Then again, the hedge is already trimmed... We might not need to use the hedge trimmer again, and we might just use the lawn mower for everything after this.
So... yeah. That leads back to us needing money for food. Sorry it had to come to this, but you can blame DSS, and you can blame my doctors for requiring me to eat every 3 hours (about 4 meals a day).
