there are many varchie quotes that could've made the cut, but as I was thinking, this is the one I always come back to. this boy, this bleeding heart, this KID, falling for this girl, this KID, who can't see her own light but who holds on to his with all her might.

she thinks she's going to lead him down the worst of paths because she can't quite leave her parents behind and this boy, he's in so deep that he looks at her in the eye and says, none of this shit changes anything because I love you. nothing her father does will ever be stronger than that feeling. nothing she tells him will scare him. nothing will make him regret her or make him willingly leave her. he never did.

and you know, it's my favorite because that's what happens. archie keeps this word until the very end. hiram does some awful, unspeakable things, and archie stays. archie bleeds and suffers but he comes back, he knows it's not her fault. he believes in her. even in the darkest hours she makes him think things will be alright, she makes him smile, and that's bigger than anything life could throw at them.

after being painted like a "confused/flaky teen" in the first season, here we see archie stepping up like this about what he wants, and what he chooses for himself. and it's veronica, no matter what.

this was peak riverdale. and written by the boss himself... say it louder, ras.
