The Expanded Fandomverse Podcast
Our guest this week is a man with a podcast all about YOU, the Star Wars fan! Hey, wait, that's our niche! ---Well, we did come first! ;-)
In this episode we talk to Mr. Scott Ryfun, host of "My Star Wars Story". The specifics of his show are not quiet the same as ours; where we talk to cool Star Wars fans doing creative projects based on their love of that galaxy far, far away, Scott is going about collecting an oral history of Star Wars fandom, by asking Star Wars fans to tell him the stories of their Star Wars love from the very beginning.
We chat to Scott about his multiple podcasts, about how this compares to his work in radio, about the future podcast he and Jason are building, and about his book collection!
Our talk with Scott was so fun, that we ran a little long. If you want to hear how Scot did on the Trench Run, you'll have to come back to our website tomorrow for that bonus content!
Also this week, we give you your last reminder about the #Fandomverse giveaway. The contest ends this week, on Force Friday!
NEW EPISODE! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are very happy this week to welcome Mr. Albin Johnson to the show. Al is the man who started the greatest of Star Wars costuming groups, the 501st Legion. Okay, we may be a bit biased, since Jason and I are both members! Albin's story of how and why he created the 501st is pretty well known, so we asked him questions we hadn't heard the answer to before, the things we were curious about. We think you'll really enjoy this conversation. This week, also discuss our plans for Force Friday, and how you can be a part of it. And we give you another reminder about the #FANDOMVERSE giveaway. Hurry and post to social media now, for our contest to win the teaser poster for The Force Awakens ends soon!
NEW EPISODE!

This week we welcome Mr. Mike Appling to the show. Mike is the creator of Trooperbay.com, THE place to shop online for all your Stormtrooper cos-play needs! We talk to Mike about what it takes to turn your passion into a business, we get a little wonky about Stormtrooper armor and the 501st, Mike shares some "insider information" about Anovos, and he tells what could possibly be the funniest Star Wars origin story I have ever heard.
This week, we also bring back Mr. Steve Greenwood to the show. Steve was one of our earliest guests, and he is the co-founder if Wookieepedia.com. I talk to Steve about the chances we have of getting The Expanded Fandomverse into "The Wook.". The short answer… no. BUT, he does leave us with a sliver of hope!
We bring back "The News" section to the show this time around. There was just so much stuff announced and released this week, that we felt we had to talk about it! What kind of podcasters would be be if we didn't?
And finally, we give you all another reminder about the #FANDOMVERSE contest, all part of Jason's Jawa Giveaway (Utinni!) There are only two weeks left to get into the running to win the teaser poster for The Force Awakens!

Sometimes, it's the simple things in life… Our guest this week, Mr. Marcelo Zuniga, had a simple idea, which quickly took off and went viral. Marcelo has a YouTube channel that is pretty much nothing but Star Wars clips. Well, recently, he put together a side by side comparison of the theatrical releases of the films, and the multiple "special editions" we've had over the years. Like I said, simple. This is stuff we, as Star Wars fans know about, and have all seen before. But, when he posted it on YouTube, it soon spread like wildfire! It was featured on Nerdist, io9, Collider, Geekology, Slate, Indiewire, Screenrant, and many many MANY others. Marcelo and I had a great conversation about all the changes, giving our opinions on what works, what doesn't, what bothers us, and what we would like to change. Also this week, we unceremoniously mark our one year anniversary! Yes, The Expanded Fandomverse has been coming your way for a year now! It snuck up on us, so we didn't have time to plan anything special, but we chat a bit about this special occasion this week, and look back on the year we've had. Or rather, I should say I babble about it for a bit, because, unfortunately, I (Tim) was alone this week! Neither Dan nor Jason could join me this week, so I was left all alone, to talk to myself, like I did in the "beta period" of the show! And remember, don't forget Jason's Jawa Giveawy (Utinni!). Just use the hostage #FANDOMVERSE on Social Media by the end of the month, and you will be in the running for a copy of The Force Awakens teaser poster!
Episode #007
With the closing of another month, that means it's time for The Expanded Comicverse, our show where we like to recap, review and chat about all the newest Star Wars comics from Marvel Comics.
This month we talk about the five titles that hit the shelves in July with Catrina Dennis. Catrina hosts her own podcast about Star Wars comics called The Mos Eisley Comic Port Podcast (as well as having many other cool online projects!). Be sure to check it out!
This month we continue our discussion about Boba Fett, and ask once again, is he the galaxies greatest bounty hunter, or just a guy who got lucky on one job. We also compare Obi-Wan Kenobi to Bat-Man, and try to guess the fate of Janus Kasmir, friend of Kanan Jarrus. Also, we discuss the hobbies of Emperor Palpatine, and Allen and I try to prove ourselves to the gentlemen.
Just a note, Skype was not cooperating with us when we recorded. So, you will find a few passages with a bit of static or something that sounds like wind. Our apologize for the issue, but please note that these moments do not last long. Thank you.

So, these tweets happened.
The way I see it, “Slave Leia” embodies the objectification, sexism, and fetishization of Princess Leia in that metal bikini in Return of the Jedi, while also highlighting that she was passive and helpless at the mercy of Jabba the Hutt.
“Leia the Huttslayer” is a badass who takes matters into her own hands and strangles the life out of that disgusting sexist slug that dared to control her with the very chain he tried to leash her with. (Also, it’s way more metal, and if a girl’s gotta wear a metal bikini she’s earned a metal epithet to go with it.)
Love this idea! Gonna make it happen!
