People are so pressed about other fans having favorites that are minor, unimportant characters.

"Who tf cares about Rhea Royce?!" "Jaehaera has fans? Her dragon has fans now?!" "Why do people think Sara Snow was real???" Like yeah, any character that exists has fans? That's how anything goes ever? Its the old Internet Rule of "Anything that Exists has Porn"? Anything that exists has fans.

Hell, the Idea of characters has fans! The Concept of Rhea/Daemon having a daughter that bonds with Vermithor? Well loved, there's a dozen! Rhaenyra's daughter Visenya? Quite a few! There's some real great art!

"Oh you stan irrelevent characters and expect people to care!!" I mean, most characters are kinda irrelevant but GRRM didn't write stories only focusing on 1 bloodline or group of people; he made a whole world with history and cultures and I don't think there's anything wrong with finding a character that's a footnote and being obsessed. And I'm unsure who expects anyone to care, but people definitely post on Tumblr to find a community so... Its all in good fun, but I guess thats too much for you? Sorry some people are having fun?

Rhea Royce moodboard

A character that I think was the most wasted would be Rhea Royce.

Even though in the book of Fire and Blood there’s not that much information about her either, but I think what makes me want more of her is the fact that she was really young when she was forced into a marriage with Daemon, I’m pretty sure they both were, and I think it’d be interesting to see more of Daemon’s childhood and his teenage years, I do hate how the writers made his other relationships to just be some sort of filler before he got with Rhaenyra, when those relationships actually provided something for his mental development, I personally think that Daemon was probably incredibly immature as a kid, reasonably so, so I’d like to think the insult for Rhea, y’know “the bronze b*tch” probably came out of that immaturity and I’d like to see how he actually matured over time and how the woman in his life affected him because it seems like a lot of the women who he knew and had somewhat of a close relationship to, died, his mother died in childbirth, Leana, as well, in childbirth in the book, and even though in the book he wasn’t near the vale when Rhea died I’d still like to believe he’s not a heartless monster and her death did in some way affect him as well, I just think story with these two are incredibly interesting to me, I’d like to think Rhea provided a lot for the mental development of Daemon and it’d just be nice and interesting to see Daemon Targaryen as not a charismatic and charming prince as well as seeing him learning to become said charismatic, charming political prince.

God... It’s absolutely insane how completely they’ve missed the point. I can’t stand Rhaesaria fans anymore.

This person even claimed that if you ship Daemyra—which they view as pedophilia—it implies you could justify historical slavery simply because it wasn't frowned upon back then. Do you realize the lengths "antis" go to in order to police shipping? GRRM wrote plenty of Targaryen romances; deal with it, and grow a pair before you start insulting the author. But no, you’d rather invent the idea that GRRM is criticizing incest in his story, when he isn't. People want what GRRM actually wrote—including the LGBT representation he created—not this fanfiction version.

But... Rhaenyra is passive. And not just because she’s beneath Mysaria. She’s passive because she’s seeking validation from Mysaria. She’s the one being filmed from above—from Mysaria’s perspective—while she sits lower down. She’s the one sitting while Mysaria stands, dominant. She’s in a terrible emotional state, and Mysaria has emotionally manipulated her into sleeping with her, effectively becoming one of Rhaenyra’s abusers. There is nothing to celebrate in this scene. "Rhaesaria" fans complaining that the scene wasn't more detailed, without even realizing it’s a form of assault... and another fan trying to defend the scene by talking about "top" and "bottom" clichés... God...

I’m not even a daemyra fan, but oh my god, yes. that scene where she basically embodies "we listen and we don’t judge", nodding along so earnestly when he speaks shit, before speaking to him in that soft, intimate tone. daemon is like a starving dog during hotd, always craving approval, yet perpetually unable to satisfy anyone because of his very nature. all he needs is to feel loved and understood, and he folds completely. maybe things would have been easier if she understood this from the start before she decided she wanted to burn with him and all that.
