PLOT DROP 10 || EVENT RECAP

“Good evening, everyone. This is Rift Valley News with a breaking news alert.

Reports are coming in that a bomb has exploded at the Rift Valley Summer Kickoff Festival. Authorities believe some type of accelerant had been spread across the field prior to the explosion, causing the fire to spread rapidly throughout Rift Valley Park.

Witnesses report that the word RIPPER was spelled out in the burning grass.

At this time, the explosion has claimed five lives, including Rhys Cole, Ryker Herrera, and Gavin Fields. The two remaining victims are believed to be the popcorn stand workers based on witness statements, though their identities have not yet been confirmed due to the severity of their burns.

Gunshots were also heard during the chaos. Two people have been transported to Coastal Ridge Hospital with gunshot wounds. The victims have been identified as Giada D’Amiano-Santoro and Asena Sahin. Both remain in critical condition as doctors continue to fight to save their lives.

Authorities are urging anyone with information, footage, or photos from the festival to come forward immediately. This is an active and developing story, and Rift Valley News will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”

PLOT DROP 10 || Part 3

It took a few minutes for the flames to take over the whole field. Patrons of the festival were running and screaming as they started for the exit. But a cluster of gunshots would bring everyone to a halt. They were rapid in succession

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Three minutes later, a second cluster of gunshots sounded off in a different location, not too far from the first

PLOT DROP 10 || Part 2

It seemed accelerant had been spread across the field beforehand. Moments after the explosion, the fire began to spread rapidly, racing outward in deliberate lines.

Rows of flame formed across the grass, growing into low walls of fire that divided the field like a maze. At first, the pattern seemed random. Then, as the flames continued to spread, the shape became harder to ignore. The lines were too precise. Too intentional.

PLOT DROP 10 || Part 1

The night had gone off without a hitch. Music blared through the park as people danced, laughed, and enjoyed the festival without a care in the world. Then, without warning, a deafening blast tore through the night.

An explosion ignited at the popcorn stand, sending a wave of heat and debris across the nearby area. It was not large enough to devastate the entire park, but anyone within fifteen feet of the stand would have been caught in the blast.

This is part 1 of today's plot drop. Please refrain from having characters "live" react at this time, as more details are to follow.

are you planning to extend the event?

At this point, we have not discussed the possibility of extending. Though, once the plot drop goes out, we are sure everyone is going to want to be diving right into the aftermath. The plot drop and self paras are scheduled already so even if we do extend, those will still go out tomorrow. Writers are welcome to continue event threads after the set planned end time.

We have also taken everyone's feedback and going forward will bring back the 10 day events rather than the 8 days.
