Hello! I believe I am neutrois and have been going by the name Avery. Does that seem like a neutral name? If not, do you have a suggestions?
I am of the opinion that all names should be treated as gender neutral. I want to see a world where the entire idea of gendering names is absurd. That said within our current world Avery is a name I have only heard associated with men.
Hi! I'm not sure if it's okay to come to you with all my confusion, so please let me know if it isn't. I'd just like your thoughts on what the heck I might be. I always thought I was cis, because I'm chill with my genitalia. However, I've always hated my chest, and I would have no grievances if my genitals up and disappeared one day. Breasts can be annoying for a large variety of reasons. There are tons of cis women who have issues with their breasts. Binding is a subject I’m not super familiar with, however I know there can be health problems associated when done incorrectly. If I were in your situation, I would consider breast reduction rather than binding. It is generally easy to acquire due to it’s cosmetic classification, and small breasts are quite versatile in the event that you want to appear in a particular fashion. They can be easily hidden with sweaters or sports bras, but also emphasized with some clothing choices. If even small breasts are too much, then proper top surgery may be a better choice. However I would spend time thinking about what specifically causes you the discomfort so you can clearly communicate it with the medical professionals involved.

Gendering clothing, and caring about the legitimacy of labels in the minds of others will both lead to wasted time and hurt feelings. If what you are doing makes you feel better, you should do it. Don’t limit your self-expression for the sake of pleasing other people. Life is too short for that.
I think you don't believe in graysexuality because you've never experienced that yourself and therefore its definition is confusing you. As a cisgender hetero graysexual myself, I can tell you that it's NOT dependent on a low sex drive. In my experiences, it's about not being able to feel the same kind of sexual attraction that other hetero women experience. I feel very little sexual attraction to the male body in general and yet I'm not interested in women nor am I fully asexual.
Your sexuality has no functional purpose other than to alienate yourself from other straight women you perceive as being more sexual than yourself. It will have no little to no material consequence on your relationships, nor will it be recognizable as anything other than heterosexuality by the general public.
I was wondering how old you were when you knew for sure you were asexual, because I believe I am, but I'm still fairly young. I know if I'm wrong, it's not a huge deal, I was just curious (if you feel comfortable answering, of course).
My position is that I have never maintained certainty. I think it’s better to accept that I “Could Change” than to cling to the notion that I will never be sexual. That way I would remain open-minded in the event that I someday change.I’m 24 now, and still have no sexual inclination toward others. I'm really sorry if I'm bothering you. I've been questioning my gender identity for a while and came upon Neutrois in my researh. I found a few different definitions.. One that fit me, and one that didn't. But then I found your blog and the title is pretty much how I would identify myself but I don't know if you just picked it as a title or if itcould be an identity for me.. I hope that you found some answers, even if I was not able to give them. (I’ve been away from this blog probably for at least a year.) Personally I eventually came to recognize a problem. It was impossible for me to say with certainty if I was identifying with Neutrois because I was genuinely Neutrois, or because I had internalized the societal notion that as a trans woman I would never be a “Real Woman.” As a way to deflect my dysphoria essentially.I still flirt with the Neutrois concept on occasion. I honestly think there is some potentially important insights to be gained from it, and I wish the best of luck to you in your journey of self discovery.

You would probably be best spending some time getting to the root of your issue, perhaps with the help of a therapist if it bothers you particularly. There are a variety of causes for this type of feeling such as alienation and internalized misogyny, but it is impossible to say without deep introspection.
Can you be neutrois even if you only have body dysphoria and are fine with your assigned gender?
I’m a dysphoric individual myself, and my problem is first and formost how I relate to my own body. I’m a fan of the definition I’ve seen start to show up defining dysphoria not as bodily hate, but instead as “A disconnect between your sex and sense of self.”If my problem wasn’t related to my sex then what would it be related to? Gender roles? Presentation? If I had to adopt an entire label to dissociate myself from gender roles, I would be reinforcing the idea that there is a specific way to be X gender. If it was a matter of presentation, I would be gender non conforming instead of trans. (Which is a totally cool and fine thing to be.)I mean, a lot of trans people talk about identity, but you can identify as anything. That doesn’t mean that your identity is useful in communication. So rather than asking “If you only have” I would reply “The way you relate to your body is what is most important.” You don’t have to look or act a certain way, or any of that. It’s not a subculture.
Hello. First off, I would like to say I like your blog. Second, I would like to ask you a question if that's okay. I'm neutrois, and I was wondering if you or any neutrois or non-binary people you know could give tips on presentation. I would like to present as neutral, and the only conclusion I came up with is that I would have to look so confusing that people would have to ask me about my gender. But the problem is that I'm very feminine even though I cut my hair short. Any advice.
Hey. Well, one thing I would like to point out is to avoid the trap of viewing masculinity as a default. Because there isn’t a true “Gender-Neutral” aesthetic so to say, the specifics of how to present will never be straightforward. Earthy tones tend to be less gendered than pastels or over-saturated basic colours. Chuck-Taylor style shoes aren’t a gendered style, so they were one of my go-to’s when I first started transition myself. Bulky knitted sweaters, particularly the ugly ones we all know and hate, will actually do you wonders regardless of your birth sex. Also keep you warm in the coming winter. Short hair is just as likely to expose underlying masculine or feminine bone structure of your face. Thus medium hair will help it remain in more of a neutral situation, although many find medium hare to be an awkward style. Keep the actual cut to more of a natural look. Various shapes of glasses frames can also help “Re-Frame” your face to even it out. I have a very long face so I use very wide glasses to help hide that fact. Most importantly, wear what you want to wear. Don’t feel that you have to be recognizably neutrois, because honestly unless you are in specific communities, no one is even going to know what it means.
I know you haven't updated in a long time, but thank you so much for making this blog. I'm a AMAB person who is still trying to figure out my gender identity. Sometimes I think I may be a woman and other times I feel more aligned with being non-binary. The concept of transfeminine neutrois is refreshing too, because almost all non-binary people I see are AFAB people with short purple hair and bow ties, and it's really isolating. (but seriously, why do they all look the fucking same?)
I mostly stopped updating this because the realization I came to was ultimately very against mainstream tumblr politics. Tumblr has thrown the experiences of people who have the external problems with society, gender expression, etc, with those who have a more internal struggle with how they relate to their body under the idea of being inclusive.We have a culture that hates everything coded female or feminine, which has raised a generation of DFAB people who are struggling with this internalized worthlessness. As a result, there is a huge push towards Gender-Non-Conformity, WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING.
However, by equating the idea that Gender Expression can determine a person’s gender, we create a situation in which people honestly believe that if they don’t subscribe to the pinnacle of a sex’s stereotype, that they are somehow not “really” or “entirely” fe/male. These problems are best dealt with through feminism, and the abolition of the ideas that there is a certain way to be a man or woman. Meanwhile the experiences of people whose problem is in how they relate to their physical body, require a different approach. I’m not a fan of the idea that relabeling things will eliminate dysphoria. No amount of telling me that “Girls can have dicks.” will ever make me not feel intrinsically wrong about the fact that I’m DMAB. I still go mentally back and forth between if I feel like I’m non-binary or just a trans woman, but either way it’s a moot point because my transition isn’t likely to go any further at any point in the near future due to unrelated health concerns.And to be quite blunt about your last question, as to the similar looks of many DFAB NB people, it’s because we have developed an idea of what NB means aesthetically, which has been created by primarily DFAB people looking to remove themselves from societies sexualized view of femininity while embracing the more masculine perceived-neutral. Society says that being male, or masculine-coded is the automatic go-to. Being female, or feminine however is seen as something “extra”, a plea for attention, something unnecessary, something excessive... It’s no wonder then that the idea of neutrality is based exactly upon what society would tell us it should be: average masculinity. Even if it is now being layered with stereotypical motifs such as pastel hair, etc.
I dream about a communist revolution bringing about a society I can actually participate in, and then I go outside and get catcalled by men, listen to a discussion where a middle aged disabled man complained about all the "fakers" on disability, have 4 people try to sell me drugs, and realize the only person to actually talk to me all day only struck up conversation because I was a customer.

Trans men deserve just as much representation as trans women. Trans men deserve just as much respect as trans women. Trans men are worth just as much as trans women and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

We are targeted by the porn industry. Fuck we are one of the most popular niche genre's of porn in the world. People talk about us on the news because we are seen as a danger. Our existence is seen as a threat to cis women and children because we are assumed to be predatory sexual deviants. People on tumblr don't respect trans men as much because you are men. Full Stop. That's the thing. You don't get as much attention as minority women because you are minority men. Fucking deal with it.

Advertising your trans status like this seems like such a trans guy thing. I know a few trans guys that even have the trans symbol tattooed onto them, which is completely beyond my ability to empathize with. I suppose this is because I'm so terrified of violence resulting from not being hidden away.
